Geometry Dash

Geometry Dash is a 2013 mobile game and Steam game developed by Sweden-based developer Robert Topala, and published by his own company RobTop Games. It is a rhythm-based running game which currently has 20 levels. Each level features unique background music. Although the player is not required to complete a level to advance to the next, they increase in difficulty for the most part. Other features of the game that exist in the latest versions are a level editor, map packs, user-created levels, secret coins, user coins, a secret vault and a great variety of icons and game modes.

Gameplay

Geometry Dash uses a simple tapping/clicking system to control different vehicles that react when a player presses anywhere on the touchscreen (space/up key(s) or mouse if playing on the Steam version) and can be held down to constantly interact (on some vehicles). Users cannot control the speed at which the icon is moving, unless it interacts with a speed changing portal. The timing and rhythm are key parts of the game.

Junior Olympic Gold

The Junior Gold tournament (formerly known as "Junior Olympic Gold" or "JOG") is an American national youth singles bowling tournament which showcases youth bowlers who have qualified in leagues qualifiers. Bowlers must have a 175 average for boys and a 165 for girls and purchase a Gold membership. Started in 1998, the tournament has grown to become one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the world.

History

Jr. Gold was started in 1998, headed by David Dahms, manager of the Young American Bowling Allicance USA Junior Olympic Bowling Program. The first tournament was held in 1998 in Reno, Nevada, at the National Bowling Stadium.

There were 538 bowlers in the inaugural championships, with Rory Kalanquin of Davison, Michigan, and Melissa Bellinder of Fullerton, California as the first national champions. Since then, that number has steadily grown with 2,100 spots open to bowlers for the 2009 tournament in Indianapolis. A few bowlers who excelled in the tournament's earlier years have grown to be recognizable faces, such as Sean Rash, Shannon Pluhowsky, Andrew Cain, Stefanie Nation and Diandra Asbaty.

Claw crane

A claw crane (also called a variety of other names, such as claw machine) is a type of arcade game known as a merchandiser, commonly found in video arcades, supermarkets, restaurants, movie theaters, shopping malls, and bowling alleys.

Machine components & structure

A claw crane consists of many parts, but the basic components are a printed circuit board (PCB), power supply, currency detector, credit/timer display, joystick, wiring harness, bridge assembly, and claw. The claw has two or more fingers, although most claws have three.

The cabinet is usually constructed of medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Some cabinets are made of aluminum alloy, which makes it easier to relocate as well as cheaper to produce.

The window at the front of the machine is normally made of glass or a cheaper-to-manufacture substitute, such as acrylic. The marquee is a branded graphic (sometimes created specifically for restaurants or an operator's business name) behind a Plexiglass front.

Gameplay

A claw vending machine consists of prizes, usually plush toys or alternatives such as jewelry, capsuled toys, hats, balls, dolls, shirts, candy and electronics. More expensive prizes are sometimes placed in a plastic bag so the toy is harder to pick up. The player inserts money or tokens into the machine, which then allows the player to manipulate a joystick that controls the claw for a variable amount of time, (controlled by the operator) usually ranging from 15 to 30 seconds, and rarely even a minute. The player is able to move the claw back, forth, and sideways. Some machines allow the user to move the claw after it has partially descended.

The Crane is a 1992 short film distributed by the British Film Institute.

The movie is set in London. The filming location was the Acton shopping precinct.

The film took place at the 36th London Film Festival in 1992.
