Appeal for witnesses following peak hour road rage incident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident which left two men bruised and a car windscreen smashed during morning peak hour in Brisbane.

On Thursday, about 6am, two cars were heading into the city on the Riverside Expressway near Coronation Drive, when a man driving one of the cars got into a verbal argument with two men in the other car, police said.

The man allegedly attempted to assault the passenger of the second car through the window while his was driving, and then ran into the car and pushed it across three lanes.

Police said the man then got out of his silver Suzuki Swift and allegedly jumped on the bonnet of the other car, stomping on the windscreen and then allegedly punching the passenger through the window.

A 24-year-old witness who attempted to help the passenger was also allegedly assaulted, before the man drove off in his car.

Both men had bruised faces and the car, a green Holden Statesman, was also seriously damaged in the incident.

The man is still wanted for questioning, a police spokeswoman said, and police are asking for any witnesses who may have dashcam footage or who saw the alleged incident to contact police.
