Stepney

Stepney is a district of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in London's East End that grew out of a medieval village around St Dunstan's church and the 15th century ribbon development of Mile End Road. The area built up rapidly in the 19th century, mainly to accommodate immigrant workers and displaced London poor, and developed a reputation for poverty, overcrowding, violence and political dissent. It was severely damaged during the Blitz, with over a third of housing totally destroyed; and then, in the 1960s, slum clearance and development replaced most residential streets with tower blocks and modern housing estates. Some Georgian architecture and Victorian era terraced housing survive in patches: for example Arbour Square, the eastern side of Stepney Green, and the streets around Matlock Street.

The area has not yet experienced the levels of gentrification seen in nearby Bow, Wapping and Limehouse but some redevelopment has taken place, including the former Arbour Square Police Station and the East End Mission building.

Sajid Khan

Sajid Khan (born 28 December 1951, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is a former Indian actor. He is the adopted son of Indian film producer Mehboob Khan, founder of Mehboob Studios, in India.

Career

Sajid started acting as a child appearing as the younger version of Sunil Dutt's character in his father Mehboob's 1957 film Mother India. He played more central role in title role,in his father's next and last film Son of India in 1962. According to Rauf Ahmed, though the film was not a success at the box-office, Sajid's performance was praised by the critics. He went on to achieve fame in the United States with a co-starring role alongside Jay North in the 1966 film Maya. The film's success led to a television series of the same name airing on NBC from September 1967 to February 1968 where he had pivotal role becoming a "teen idol". He also had a short-lived singing career in 1969 with a self-titled album. He guest starred in the television series The Big Valley, It's Happening and after appearing in a handful of successful English films - The Prince and I, My Funny Girl, The Singing Filipina, Mahatma and the Mad Boy, he tried to get into Hindi films but none of his Hindi films from 1972 to 1983 ever worked. His career's peak period was in 1966–1974 and he was more successful in English films. He made his last film appearance in the Merchant-Ivory film Heat and Dust in 1983 which was successful.

Adnan Sajid Khan

Adnan Sajid Khan is a comedian and actor, popularly known as Gullu Dada. He presently lives in Hyderabad.

Started as a stage singer in 90s, but became actor in 2007 in RK Mama productions F. M. (Fun Aur Masti) in which he played a local don character named Gullu Dada.

He has been part of 12 movies that have been made in Hyderabad with the Deccani lingo. And most of them completed 50 days in at least a dozen theatres in Nizam Circuit.

Thomas & Friends (titled Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends prior to 2003) is a British children's television series. It had its first broadcast on the ITV network in Great Britain in 1984 and first aired in the United States on PBS KIDS in 2004. It is based on The Railway Series of books by the Reverend Wilbert Awdry and his son, Christopher Awdry. These books deal with the adventures of a group of anthropomorphised locomotives and road vehicles who live on the fictional Island of Sodor. The books were based on stories Wilbert told to entertain his son, Christopher, during his recovery from measles. Many of the stories from the first four series are based on events from Awdry's personal experience.
