WHEN YOU GIVE TO UNH, YOU GIVE TO THE WORLD.

On Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2017, people all around the world will donate to causes they care about. We hope you’ll not only remember to give, but also remember that when you give to UNH, you give to the world. Whether they support researching climate change in the Arctic Circle, exploring magnetic fields at the edge of our solar system, or providing scholarships to our students, the gifts we receive help transform our world and our students' lives.

When you give to UNH, you’re giving to the world by supporting people like UNH researchers studying the Arctic’s influence and impact on the earth’s changing climate or bringing stakeholders together to prepare oil-spill response in the region. Gifts to UNH help them mentor the next generation of passionate and well-prepared climate scientists.

Gifts to UNH help keep tuition affordable—even possible—for students with financial need, including those in the military. Since 1997, UNH has waived more than six million dollars in tuition for members of the N.H. National Guard. Says guardsman and radar operator Adam Wong ’16, “The idea of having to deal with mountains of loans after four years would have most likely discouraged me from going to college.”

For 150 years, UNH has been transforming individual lives while also working to create change on a grander scale. One example: UNH’s Carsey School of Public Policy offers programs that advance knowledge and careers, produces research used nationwide to inform policies that affect families and communities, and brings people together to create solutions to pressing public issues.

Participating in Giving Tuesday is a source of pride and joy for millions of people who come together to make a difference. So show your Blue colors. Help UNH keep serving the needs of students and exploring the edge of possible with your gift. You can designate your gift to any area of the university.

What began as an undergraduate project in the labs and greenhouses of UNH is becoming a real-world solution for some of the millions of people who experience food insecurity and malnutrition. Project OASIS is an interdisciplinary, undergraduate capstone project with the goal of designing a sustainable and affordable small-scale aquaponics system.
