Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa (/ˈduːə ˈliːpə/; born 22 August 1995) is an English singer, songwriter, and model. Her debut album is scheduled for release in 2016.

Early life

Dua Lipa was born in London on 22 August 1995. Her first name "Dua" is an Albanian word meaning "love" or "want". Her parents, who are Kosovo Albanians, had left Prishtina in the 1990s. Among the schools she attended was the Sylvia Young Theatre School. When Dua was 13 she moved with her family to Kosovo at around the time the state declared its independence from Serbia. At the age of 15 she moved back to London living with friends, because she wanted to build a career in music. She began working as a model at age 16.

Her father had once been a rock musician and she grew up listening to him sing. At the age of 14 she began posting covers of her favourite songs by artists such as Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado on YouTube. She also began writing songs when she was 14.

Career

2015–present

In 2015 Dua Lipa began working on her debut album for Warner Bros. Records, utilising the same management team as Lana Del Rey. In August 2015 she released her first single "New Love". The single was produced by Emile Haynie and Andrew Wyatt. She released her second single "Be the One" in October 2015. The song was written by Lucy "Pawws" Taylor. Lipa has said that "Be the One is the only song on my album I haven't written ... [but] I couldn't not take it, it's my favourite thing."

Pixar Animation Studios, or simply Pixar (/ˈpɪksɑːr/), is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California. The studio is best known for its Stop Motion as well as CGI-animated feature films created with RenderMan, its own implementation of the industry-standard RenderMan image-rendering application programming interface used to generate high-quality images. Pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group, part of the computer division of Lucasfilm before its spin-out as a corporation in 1986 with funding by Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs, who became its majority shareholder.The Walt Disney Company bought Pixar in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion, a transaction that resulted in Jobs becoming Disney's largest single shareholder at the time. Pixar has produced 16 feature films, beginning with Toy Story (1995), and its most recent being The Good Dinosaur (2015). Toy Story was the first-ever computer-animated feature film. All 16 films have debuted with CinemaScore ratings of at least "A−," indicating positive receptions with audiences. The studio has also produced several short films. As of December 2015, its feature films have made over $9.5 billion worldwide, with an average worldwide gross of $593 million per film. Three of Pixar's films—Finding Nemo (2003), Toy Story 3 (2010), and Inside Out (2015)—are among the 50 highest-grossing films of all time, with Toy Story 3 being the third all-time highest animated film with a gross of $1.063 billion, behind Walt Disney Animation Studios' Frozen (2013) and Illumination Entertainment's Minions (2015), which grossed $1.276 billion and $1.157 billion in their initial releases as of 2015. Thirteen of Pixar's films are among the 50 highest-grossing animated films.

Mind

A mind /ˈmaɪnd/ is the set of cognitive faculties that enables consciousness, perception, thinking, judgement, and memory—a characteristic of humans, but which also may apply to other life forms.

A lengthy tradition of inquiries in philosophy, religion, psychology and cognitive science has sought to develop an understanding of what a mind is and what its distinguishing properties are. The main question regarding the nature of mind is its relation to the physical brain and nervous system – a question which is often framed as the mind–body problem, which considers whether mind is somehow separate from physical existence (dualism and idealism), or the mind is identical with the brain or some activity of the brain, deriving from and/or reducible to physical phenomena such as neuronal activity (physicalism). Another question concerns which types of beings are capable of having minds, for example whether mind is exclusive to humans, possessed also by some or all animals, by all living things, or whether mind can also be a property of some types of man-made machines.
