The A-Team is an American action-adventure television series, running from 1983 to 1987, about a fictitious former United States Army Special Forces unit who, after being court-martialed "for a crime they didn't commit", escape from military prison and, while still on the run, work as soldiers of fortune. A feature film based on the series was released by 20th Century Fox in June 2010.
The A-Team was created by writers and producers Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo at the behest of Brandon Tartikoff, NBC's Entertainment president. Cannell was fired from ABC in the early 1980s, after failing to produce a hit show for the network, and was hired by NBC; his first project was The A-Team. Brandon Tartikoff pitched the series to Cannell as a combination of The Dirty Dozen, Mission Impossible, The Magnificent Seven, Mad Max and Hill Street Blues, with "Mr. T driving the car".
The A-Team was not generally expected to become a hit, although Stephen J. Cannell has said that George Peppard suggested it would be a huge hit "before we ever turned on a camera". The show became very popular; the first regular episode, which aired after Super Bowl XVII on January 30, 1983, reached 26.4% of the television audience, placing fourth in the top 10 Nielsen-rated shows.
Team building is a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations and define roles within teams, often involving collaborative tasks. It is distinct from team training, which is designed to improve the efficiency, rather than interpersonal relations.
Many team building exercises are intended to expose and address interpersonal problems within the group.
Over time, these activities are intended to improve performance in a team-based environment. Team building is one of the foundations of organizational development that can be applied to groups such as sports teams, school classes, military units or flight crews. The formal definition of team-building includes:
Team building is one of the most widely used group development activities in organizations.
Of all organizational activities, one study found team-development to have the strongest effect (versus financial measures) for improving organizational performance. Recent meta-analyses show that team development activities, including team building and team training, improve both a team’s objective performance and that team's subjective supervisory ratings.
A team is a group of people or other animals linked in a common purpose. Human teams are especially appropriate for conducting tasks that are high in complexity and have many interdependent subtasks.
A group does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort which allows each member to maximize their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. Naresh Jain (2009) claims:
Team members need to learn how to help one another, help other team members realize their true potential, and create an environment that allows everyone to go beyond his or her limitations. Teams can be broken down into from a huge team or one big group of people, even if these smaller secondary teams are temporary.
A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.
Thus teams of game players can form (and re-form) to practise their craft/sport. Transport logistics executives can select teams of horses, dogs, or oxen for the purpose of conveying passengers or goods.
Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It is performed for various reasons, including strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, honing athletic skills, weight loss or maintenance, and merely enjoyment. Frequent and regular physical exercise boosts the immune system and helps prevent the "diseases of affluence" such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity. It may also help prevent stress and depression, help to promote or maintain positive self-esteem, improve mental health generally, and can augment an individual's sex appeal or body image, which has been found to be linked with higher levels of self-esteem.Childhood obesity is a growing global concern, and physical exercise may help decrease some of the effects of childhood and adult obesity. Some care providers call exercise the "miracle" or "wonder" drug—alluding to the wide variety of benefits that it can provide for many individuals.

In this team building game the team will put each other in categories. This way the team will get to know how they perceive one another in a light-hearted manner. Everyone will get a turn to divide the team into different categories. The one who comes up with a categorie or subject points to someone else who will come up with 3 subcategories that the team will be divided in to. This also means you can give other participants a tough time coming up with subcategories with themes like: ‘secret fantasies’ or ‘types of catfish’. The person naming the subcategories has to come at least with 3 suggestions or more depending on the group size. When the team has been distributed over the subcategories everyone is free to move to another one if that’s what they prefer to identify themselves wit...

This is one of our team bonding games where the team will find out how each individual is perceived by the other team members First the team will form a circle while sitting on the ground. Now everyone will write various personality traits and characteristics on the cards and put them in a hat. Then the team will divide the cards among everyone accordingly to who fits the traits displayed on the cards the most. When all the cards have been distributed everyone will see which traits have been assigned to him or her. This way, everyone immediately gets an image of how they are being perceived by the other team members. The team members distritube positive as well as negative traits through the cards. This makes the exercise a safe and constructive way to discuss sensitive matters or tensi...

The Canucks bring their competitiveness to the table, literally, in a not so friendly puzzle building competition. Assistant Coach Perry Pearn explains the reasons for putting everyone up to this challenge and how Willie Desjardins may have tried to sabotage the whole thing. Or was it Bieksa? I don't remember the precise date, I'm sure there was one. But I do remember the shift. The moment when I realized that my effort alone could never be enough. I know I didn't learn this in school, when we had team projects, we survived because the stronger individuals stepped in to get the project done. Time after time, heavy lifting by individuals to get the team across the line. I realized it much later and after I did, I became mindful of the importance of proactively investing in building high performance teams. Sometimes advice in this area sounds so cliché to me like "Eat less, exercise more" which is the best advice out there for shedding excess pounds but somehow so difficult to do. This tip is a little bit like that: "Make time for your team to get to know each other a...
