BBC Weekend News is the national news programmes on BBC One at a weekend and bank holidays although it is often referred to on guides simply as BBC News, or if broadcast at 1:00pm exactly, BBC News at One, 6:00pm exactly, BBC News at Six and 10:00pm exactly, BBC News at Ten. The programmes are simulcast on the BBC News Channel.
The programme airs three times a day at different times, such as Saturday lunch-time at 12:00 and evenings are variable and on Sunday lunch-time is at 13:00, evening is variable but mostly at 17:30 and at night is at 22:00. During August there is an hour long edition to replace The Andrew Marr Show at 09:00 on Sunday.
The lunchtime bulletin is presented by the duty BBC News Channel presenter. The bulletins were generally presented by Maxine Mawhinney for several years, but on 11 July 2015, she was quietly replaced by Gavin Esler. Cover presenters include Mawhinney, Nicholas Owen, Rebecca Jones and Tim Willcox.

You say you like New York better than L.A.
And I just sit there
I believe that you like looking like a Ramone
And I would rather kiss a Beach Boy
Feel the sand beneath my toes
And feel the sun burn up my nose
I'll give you all of my black clothes
Just light your smoke and watch me go
Come come come again?
What was that you said?
Listen carefully
And maybe then you'll see
That this time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
'Cause I'm so sick of dreary winters
And mornings spent in subway stations
Going to a job I hate
More and more with every day
I want the lifestyle of the rich and famous
While you prefer to remain nameless
But that's you, hey, and this is me
I'm gonna live the fantasy
Come come come again?
What was that you said?
Listen carefully
And maybe then you ll see
That this time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, next year, I won't, be here
You say you like New York better than L.A.
And I just sit there
I believe that you like looking like a Ramone
When I would rather kiss a Beach Boy
Come come come again?
What was that you said?
Listen carefully
And maybe then you'll see
Come come come again?
What was that you said?
Listen carefully
And maybe then you'll see
That this time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, next year, I won't, be here
This time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, this time, next year, next year
I won't be here
This time, next year, I won't, be here
Come come come again?
What was that you said?
