The ceremony for Kirsty’s bench in Cancun is now scheduled for the 28th July. Kirsty’s brother Hamish will be there with his wife Rosie, so the family will be represented. If any of the fans are intrepid enough to go, and can arrange it at short notice, they will be most welcome!

Sadly Kirsty’s mother Jean passed away on 16th May 2017, bringing an end to her tireless campaigning for Kirsty against all the odds. On top of her own long and illustrious career in dance, movement and theatre. A mighty woman – if you have not read her autobiography you should do so. Her body had been failing for a long time but her mind was still as sharp as ever.

An Empty Bench in Cozumel
The memorial for Kirsty in Cozumel, Mexico is close to fruition, the intention is to have an unveiling ceremony on Friday, 28 July 2017.  This is the style of (heavy duty!) bench they propose to install, with a plaque.
It’s a companion bench for Kirsty’s original bench in Soho Square! The logo incorporates Kirsty’s bird drawing (well known from the Justice For Kirsty Campaign) and the Cozumel logo.  The latter already has a swallow included in it.  The caption will include a line from Kirsty’s song Mother’s Ruin . . .
“When you go, let me dream that I go with you”
. . . which was selected by Jean MacColl from suggestions by Kirsty’s fans.
