Frank Gilbert Gibson (September 27, 1890 – April 27, 1961) was a Major League Baseball catcher. He played all or part of eight seasons in the majors for the Detroit Tigers and Boston Braves.
Gibson began his professional career in 1911 with the Dallas Giants of the Texas League. After two seasons, he was picked up by the Tigers, making his major league debut with them in April 1913. He played in 23 games for the Tigers, batting just .140, with below average fielding. Gibson returned to the minors, playing first in the Southern Association, then returning to the Texas League in 1917 with the Beaumont Oilers and San Antonio Bronchos.
After playing four seasons with the Bronchos (renamed the Bears in 1919), Gibson was purchased from the team by the Boston Braves in August 1920. He made his return to the major leagues in 1921 after eight years away. For the next four seasons, Gibson served as backup for the Braves starting catcher, Mickey O'Neil. In 1925, Gibson was made the club's starting catcher, and he responded by batting .278 and driving in a career-high 50 runs.

Born at Egerton, Victoria, to Irish-born policeman Alexander Gibson and Louisa Herring, he attended Grenville College and the School of Mines at Ballarat before moving to Western Australia as a qualified pharmacist, setting up a business in Leonora in 1909. He married Jean Rodger Dunkley on 10 August 1911 at Kalgoorlie.
In 1914 he moved to Fremantle, of which he was mayor for twenty-nine years (1919–23, 1926–51). Sir Frank gave his official farewell speech on 19 November 1951 at last council meeting before the elections were held on 24 November, where Cr William F Samson was elected unopposed as major.
In 1921 he was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly as the Nationalist member for Fremantle; he was defeated in 1924. He was later a member of the Western Australian Legislative Council from 1942 to 1956, in 1945 being one of the foundation members of the Liberal Party. He was knighted in 1948.

Plot: Frank, an auto mechanic, witnesses the love of his life's demise at the hands of a drunk driver. Frank lets lose his rage, and kills the man. He then goes to prison, where he is framed for the murder of a fellow inmate. Frank sees escape as the only possible way to find out all the answers in the convoluted plot to kill that inmate, and find the proof to convict the true killers.
