The Canon EOS-1D C is an 18.1-megapixel CMOS digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR) made by Canon in the Cinema EOS range. It shares many features with the Canon EOS 1D X. It was publicly announced on April 12, 2012, and was released in March 2013 with suggested retail price of US$15,000 (body only). The Canon EOS-1D C is stated to be the world's first 4K resolution DSLR camera.
The 1D C has a full frame sensor but uses an APS-H-sized portion to record 4K resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels) video at 24p and 25p without downscaling in Y'CbCr 4:2:2 format. The pixel size of the sensor is 6.95 microns and records 4K in 8-bit 4:2:2 using Motion JPEG. The other modes in 8-bit 4:2:0, using MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 IBP or ALL-I format.Uncompressed video over HDMI up to 1080p is also possible.
In November 2013, Canon announced that the 1D C was the first DSLR to meet the European Broadcasting Union HD Tier 1 requirements for use in HD broadcast production.

Another long review of one of most interesting cameras to come out recently, well since the Blackmagic Camera which was my last review. Are they competing cameras? Nope...both I think have very specific applications. Is it worth the money though? After all this is a DSLR that thinks it's a video camera. A first. Also the first DSLR to shoot 4k and it's internally! Loads of WETRANSFER links for more 4k native footage available for download..please don't judge any image quality form either the stream here or even the download...heavily compressed and of course not 4k. Go to my blog post and scroll down just past the video review http://gopb.co/1dc Thanks to Park Cameras, Olly Knights, Michelle and Harry Miller Shot by James Miller and Philip Bloom Presented, directed, edited by Philip B...
It costs less than the Sony A7sii/rii, if you buy used. But is also much older. Still I can think of 5 good reasons why this is the 4K shooter to get. If you for some reason want a new one, they have them here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/855962-REG/Canon_EOS_1D_C_EOS_1D_C_4K_Cinema.html/BI/20174/KBID/14247 I didn't keep mine but that was because I wanted the JVC LS300. Therefor it would have only been a b-cam and stills cam, both for which a 5Dmkiii would be good enough. But if you are a 50% still shooter and mainly shoot landscape and narrative, then this is a sweet camera. Much better than the Sonys IMHO. Sorry about everything being handheld but it was my first two and only test runs. More videos and thoughts at http://www.gunpowdervideo.com Music: Living Voyage av Kevin ...
Director/Dop/Editing : Aldo Ricci - Arproducionsfilms BTS : Teo Ripa Two days with the new Canon 1DC. The video has been converted to 1920x1080 -no color correction applied, files are native in canon-log A great camera, clean and very sharp images. Canon Log is really useful and can be set as desired. The 4k jpg file, as opposed to what you read on the net is an excellent file, heavier then a full-hd, but lighter then a 4k Raw. Battery run time is very good and overall the camera has a good balance. It is not a camera suitable for all kinds of work, as you need to consider the storage limit when recording in 4K Due giorni passati insieme alla nuova Canon 1dc. Canon 1dc VS 5D MK III Cinestyle and Magic Lantern Raw shootout. For me it was very eye-opening to see how much detail the 4k has and how does it compare to the 5D MK III RAW and Cinestyle, graded or ungraded. Since youtube doesn't do it justice, and compresses the video so much, I uploaded some footage for you to see how much difference the 1DC makes in 4K. For this shootout a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens was used on both cameras. If you have any questions let me know in a comment down below. Morgan In today's TSL lesson we are out on location shooting a rain shot on the new Canon 1DC that Lens Pro to Go delivered to us. Our goal today is to shoot all video on this new 4K camera and pull still images from the footage. We are going to test different shutter speeds and see how they affect the video and stills. Rain is the perfect subject to test this concept of pulling still frames from video so let's see what we can do. Keep those cameras rolling and keep on clickn'. This is a test of the IS in the Canon 35mm f2.0. I usually use zooms for handheld, both for the reach as well as the, in my experience, better stabilization. But I still wanted to get a feel for the IS in this one, so I went out for some random shots. If you want one just like it, I know a place that has them. Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Lens, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/898726-USA/Canon_5178b002_EF_35mm_f_2_0_IS.html/BI/20174/KBID/14247 There was off course no stabilization added in post. And a side note, I want my handheld to look handheld and I don't like gimbals and such. So if you don't like shakes, don't watch. Everything I do Is all done for you
Lady I'm yours
And everywhere I go
You're always on my mind
You're all I adore
And I'll go
Outta my way
Just to assure
That our love endures I'm yours
Girl I'm never far away I'll be right there (right there)
To keep you nice and warm I'm rushing right home
Girl I'm never far away I'll be right there (right there)
To protect you from the storm I'm rushing right home
Girl I'll be there I'll be right there
I don't need you say
That I love you
A million times a day
Just the little things I do
All done for you
That's how I display
Love
And I'll go
Out of my way
Just to assure you baby
That our love endures I'm yours
Girl I'm never far away I'll be right there (right there)
To keep you nice and warm
(Girl I'll keep you nice and warm,
You know I'll keep you nice and warm
You know I'll keep you nice and warm)
Girl I'm never far away I'll be right there (I'll be right there)
To protect you from the storm I'm rushing right home
Girl I'll be there I'll be right there
You don't have to go and check my pager
Check my phone and search my pants to figure me out (ha)
Cause I'm an honest man
Don't need a plan, a stronger man
Cause girl there is no doubt
My love's real (as real as it comes)
Even though we are a million miles away from each other
I'm still right here, right here for you
(Here for you, here for you) I could search a million years
And still I wouldn't find anyone as beautiful as you
So rest assured our love endures I'm never far away...
