MIPBlog spoke to Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Carribean) and Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey) about Breathless, a series set in a 1961 teaching hospital. But it's not a medical drama as such, as Davenport points out: "it allows you to explore themes like the role of women in society, and what was happening at that moment. The swinging sixties hadn't really started... Britain was still a bombed-out shell, and society was still this rather glum, post-war place." "The time is perfect to explore a woman who is very in touch with her sexuality, but still has to keep a veneer of respectability," said Boyle of her character... "and she's not always great at it; she pushes her sexuality quite far, and she does it in order to get ahead." "It's a good time to be working in television," added Davenport:...

Speaking at the opening of the London Film Festival, Jack Davenport says his new film, 'A United Kingdom', can teach us a lot. . Report by Lydia Batham.
Nothing goes to plan
It's all the game of chance they say in wonderland
There's magic in the air
A tragic love affair that I don't understand
These summer girls are really something else
Our lives are short
The nights are long
Mrs Halloween
Is drinking at the bar again in New Orleans
She throws another dart
And narrowly avoids my lonely broken heart
Torn apart
These summer girls are really something else
Our lives are short (It won't be long)
The nights are long
The nights go on and on
The nights go on and on
The nights go on and on
So pinch me I must be dreaming
My life has lost all its meaning
But I like the way I'm feeling now
Kissing your lips at midnight
Under the stars and moonlight
But I never thought we'd be this strong
The nights go on and on
The nights go on and on
The nights go on and on
She's looking good tonight
I love the way she glows in ultraviolet light
Intoxicate my mind
I know that love is blind
And I'm not seeing right
Not alright
These summer girls are really something else
Our lives are short (It won't be long)
The nights are long
These summer girls are really something else
