In this video I take you to a park called Fern Forest Nature Center, though "park" may be the wrong word, it's more of a nature preserve and wildlife refuge, with a ton of exciting trails that follow along the path of the historic Cypress Creek. Fern Forest takes its name from the over 30 species of ferns you can find there, in addition to countless other native plant communities you can find in abundance there. The nature center itself features an exhibit room, a large dining room for events like weddings, reunions, or receptions, as well as an amphitheater. Fern Forest is also 100% free to get into, so there's no excuse to not pack a lunch, load up the family, and enjoy the whole day there!

Fern Forest Nature Center is one of those places that continues holding on to its natural roots. It has a rugged remote beauty that you would never expect in the middle of a city like Fort Lauderdale. after visiting there for 2 years I was surprised to find there are no videos representing the facility so I decided to produce this Mini Doc. I dont have expensive 4k gear but like my mom says "Use what you have." and that I did, This promo shows the spirit of Fern Forest, but its nothing like discovering it yourself. Filmed with a Panasonic Lumix GF1 with a Sigma 19mm 2.8 lens.

Located in Tulsa's beautiful Mohawk Park, this 804-acre nature center offers over ten miles of hiking trails. Free programs are offered every weekend. Guided tours available with advance notice. Trails may be walked when gates are closed, but Mohawk Park does follow a 9pm to 7am curfew. Pets, bicycles and horses are not permitted on the trails. Mohawk Park charges a $2 vehicle admission on weekends from April 1 through October 31.

Frank, Jeanette and I visit the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, CA for a hike around the park. Once inside this oasis of natural habitat, it is hard to imagine that you are still in Long Beach! The 105 acres that make up the Nature Center grounds provide sanctuary for animals and plant life. Two miles of dirt trails and a ¼ mile paved trail wind around two lakes, a stream and forested areas.

Nature center
A nature center (or nature centre) is an organization with a visitor center or interpretive center designed to educate people about nature and the environment. Fern Forest, Hawaii
Fern Forest is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaiʻi, United States, located in the District of Puna. The population was 480 at the 2000 census. The population increased by 94.0% to 931 at the 2010 census.
Geography
Fern Forest is located at 19°28′20″N 155°7′48″W / 19.47222°N 155.13000°W / 19.47222; -155.13000 (19.472132, -155.130135).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.5 square miles (32 km2), all of it land.
Demographics
As of the census of 2010, there were 931 people and 399 households residing in the CDP. The population density was 74.5 people per square mile (28.6/km²). There were 460 housing units at an average density of 23.1/sq mi (8.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 49.30% White, 0.75% African American, 0.86% American Indian & Alaska Native, 7.84% Asian, 10.63% Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander, 0.64% from other races, and 29.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.53% of the population.

Things to do in Orange County http://www.easyoc.com/things-to-do-in-orange-county Looking for cool Things to do in Orange County? There are many fun things to do at the Shipley Nature Center! Watch Kevin Show you all the tings that you can do there. Named after former Mayor Donald D. Shipley, the center is owned by the City of Huntington Beach History. After years of neglect, the Nature Center became overrun with invasive, exotic plant species that crowded out more desirable native plants on which local native wildlife depends. Non-native tamarisk and giant reeds depleted the ground water. Dead Monterey pines and giant reeds, were a fire risk and needed to be removed. The Blackbird Pond suffered from lack of oxygen, especially during the summer months. With donations and grants and both paid and volunteer labor, the Friends of Shipley Nature Center and the City of Huntington Beach spearheaded a complete restoration. Included in the restoration was the removal of invasive, non-native plants, upgrade of the trail system, installed a drip irrigation system to enhance water conservation, and planted 50,000 California native plants. Water feature restoration included the creation of a freshwater stream to provide pond circulation and aeration. The stream will provide a powerful lure for migrating and resident birds. Restoration will greatly enhance habitat value for wildlife and will provide improved opportunities for environmental education. Today The Center includes 4,000 feet of well-maintained trails that meander through several habitats, including oak woodlands, Torrey pines, meadows, and Blackbird Pond, a natural freshwater wetland with mature willows and sycamores. In this video I pay a little visit to the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex in Boca. If you live in South Florida or are visiting and you're looking for something to do, either by yourself or with your whole family, Gumbo Limbo is a great place to go. There are outdoor aquariums filled with fish, there's a butterfly garden, a boardwalk trail, there's mangroves, and best of all there is an actual sea turtle hospital and research facility. All you have to do to get in is give a little donation and you're free to explore to your heart's content. Make sure to speak with the staff too, because they're eager to answer any questions. -

Fern Forest Nature Center is one of those places that continues holding on to its natural roots. It has a rugged remote beauty that you would never expect in the middle of a city like Fort Lauderdale. after visiting there for 2 years I was surprised to find there are no videos representing the facility so I decided to produce this Mini Doc. I dont have expensive 4k gear but like my mom says "Use what you have." and that I did, This promo shows the spirit of Fern Forest, but its nothing like discovering it yourself. Oxley Nature Center
Located in Tulsa's beautiful Mohawk Park, this 804-acre nature center offers over ten miles of hiking trails. Free programs are offered every weekend. Guided tours available with advance notice. Trails may be walked when gates are closed, but Mohawk Park does follow a 9pm to 7am curfew. Pets, bicycles and horses are not permitted on the trails. Mohawk Park charges a $2 vehicle admission on weekends from April 1 through October 31.

Hike At The EL Dorado Nature Center
Frank, Jeanette and I visit the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, CA for a hike around the park. Once inside this oasis of natural habitat, it is hard to imagine that you are still in Long Beach! The 105 acres that make up the Nature Center grounds provide sanctuary for animals and plant life. Two miles of dirt trails and a ¼ mile paved trail wind around two lakes, a stream and forested areas.

Sea Turtle Hospital at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center - Boca Raton, FL
In this video I pay a little visit to the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex in Boca. If you live in South Florida or are visiting and you're looking for something to do, either by yourself or with your whole family, Gumbo Limbo is a great place to go. There are outdoor aquariums filled with fish, there's a butterfly garden, a boardwalk trail, there's mangroves, and best of all there is an actual sea turtle hospital and research facility. All you have to do to get in is give a little donation and you're free to explore to your heart's content. Make sure to speak with the staff too, because they're eager to answer any questions.

Fern Forest takes its name from the over 30 species of ferns you can find there, in addition to countless other native plant communities you can find in abundance there. The nature center itself features an exhibit room, a large dining room for events like weddings, reunions, or receptions, as well as an amphitheater. Fern Forest is also 100% free to get into, so there's no excuse to not pack a lunch, load up the family, and enjoy the whole day there!

With donations and grants and both paid and volunteer labor, the Friends of Shipley Nature Center and the City of Huntington Beach spearheaded a complete restoration. Included in the restoration was the removal of invasive, non-native plants, upgrade of the trail system, installed a drip irrigation system to enhance water conservation, and planted 50,000 California native plants. Water feature restoration included the creation of a freshwater stream to provide pond circulation and aeration. The stream will provide a powerful lure for migrating and resident birds. Restoration will greatly enhance habitat value for wildlife and will provide improved opportunities for environmental education.
Today
The Center includes 4,000 feet of well-maintained trails that meander through several habitats, including oak woodlands, Torrey pines, meadows, and Blackbird Pond, a natural freshwater wetland with mature willows and sycamores. Within the Nature Center is a 1,500 sq. ft. Interpretive Building with exhibits on local wildlife and ecology.

There are outdoor aquariums filled with fish, there's a butterfly garden, a boardwalk trail, there's mangroves, and best of all there is an actual sea turtle hospital and research facility. All you have to do to get in is give a little donation and you're free to explore to your heart's content. Make sure to speak with the staff too, because they're eager to answer any questions.

In this video I take you to a park called Fern Forest Nature Center, though "park" may be the wrong word, it's more of a nature preserve and wildlife refuge, with a ton of exciting trails that follow along the path of the historic Cypress Creek. Fern Forest takes its name from the over 30 species of ferns you can find there, in addition to countless other native plant communities you can find in abundance there. The nature center itself features an exhibit room, a large dining room for events like weddings, reunions, or receptions, as well as an amphitheater. Fern Forest is also 100% free to get into, so there's no excuse to not pack a lunch, load up the family, and enjoy the whole day there!

Mohawk Park charges a $2 vehicle admission on weekends from April 1 through October 31.

Frank, Jeanette and I visit the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, CA for a hike around the park. Once inside this oasis of natural habitat, it is hard to imagine that you are still in Long Beach! The 105 acres that make up the Nature Center grounds provide sanctuary for animals and plant life. Two miles of dirt trails and a ¼ mile paved trail wind around two lakes, a stream and forested areas.

Frank, Jeanette and I visit the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, CA for a hike around the park. Once inside this oasis of natural habitat, it is hard to imagine that you are still in Long Beach! The 105 acres that make up the Nature Center grounds provide sanctuary for animals and plant life. Two miles of dirt trails and a ¼ mile paved trail wind around two lakes, a stream and forested areas.

Looking for cool Things to do in Orange County? There are many fun things to do at the Shipley Nature Center! Watch Kevin Show you all the tings that you can do there.
Named after former Mayor Donald D. Shipley, the center is owned by the City of Huntington Beach History.
After years of neglect, the Nature Center became overrun with invasive, exotic plant species that crowded out more desirable native plants on which local native wildlife depends. Non-native tamarisk and giant reeds depleted the ground water. Dead Monterey pines and giant reeds, were a fire risk and needed to be removed. The Blackbird Pond suffered from lack of oxygen, especially during the summer months. With donations and grants and both paid and volunteer labor, the Friends of Shipley Nature Center and the City of Huntington Beach spearheaded a complete restoration. Included in the restoration was the removal of invasive, non-native plants, upgrade of the trail system, installed a drip irrigation system to enhance water conservation, and planted 50,000 California native plants. Water feature restoration included the creation of a freshwater stream to provide pond circulation and aeration. The stream will provide a powerful lure for migrating and resident birds. Restoration will greatly enhance habitat value for wildlife and will provide improved opportunities for environmental education.
Today
The Center includes 4,000 feet of well-maintained trails that meander through several habitats, including oak woodlands, Torrey pines, meadows, and Blackbird Pond, a natural freshwater wetland with mature willows and sycamores. Within the Nature Center is a 1,500 sq. ft. Interpretive Building with exhibits on local wildlife and ecology.

There are outdoor aquariums filled with fish, there's a butterfly garden, a boardwalk trail, there's mangroves, and best of all there is an actual sea turtle hospital and research facility. Fern Forest Nature Center - Coconut Creek, FL
In this video I take you to a park called Fern Forest Nature Center, though "park" may be the wrong word, it's more of a nature preserve and wildlife refuge, with a ton of exciting trails that follow along the path of the historic Cypress Creek. Fern Forest takes its name from the over 30 species of ferns you can find there, in addition to countless other native plant communities you can find in abundance there. The nature center itself features an exhibit room, a large dining room for events like weddings, reunions, or receptions, as well as an amphitheater. Fern Forest is also 100% free to get into, so there's no excuse to not pack a lunch, load up the family, and enjoy the whole day there!
