A shoe cobbler is a craftsman or woman who specializes in repairing shoes. Traditionally, cobblers also made shoes, although most modern cobblers focus on repair and restoration, not manufacture of new shoes.
Cobblers have been working with shoes for centuries, and cobbling is one of the oldest professions in the world. Historically, people purchased shoes from the cobbler, and used the cobbler's services to continually repair the shoes as needed. A single pair of shoes could last for a decade or more with judicious resoling, refinishing, and minor repair work, giving the wearer a great deal of mileage.

Richard Williams'ın "The Thief and the Cobbler" ("Hırsız ve Kunduracı") filmi otuz yıla yakın prodüksyon süreci sonunda değişik versyonlarla "tamamlanıp" video olarak piyasaya sürüldüyse de hiçbir zaman gerçek anlamda tamamlanamamıştı. 1990 Ekim'inden 1991 Mayıs sonuna kadar ben de bu filmde animatör olarak çalıştım ve "ölen haberci" karakterini (atıyla beraber) çizdim. O karakterin filmde görüldüğü kadarının tamamı benimdir. (Aynı karakteri daha evvelden Art Babbitt çizmiş ama onun yaptıklarından birşey kalmamış; ben de animasyonlarımı yaparken Babbitt'in sahnelerini görmemiştim.) Birkaç sene önce filmin meraklıları filmi orijinaline en yakın hâliyle montajlamışlar. I worked as an animator on this crazy film from October 1990 to the end of May 1991. I animated "the dying messenger" (and his horse) in all of his scenes. (Art Babbitt had had a go with the character but nothing remains of that in the finished film. I had not seen Babbitt's version when I made my scenes so there was no influence there.) A couple of years ago some enthusiasts fished out all the unused animation and put together a version as close to Richard Williams' original conception as possible. They called it "The Thief Recobbled". I recently found out that someone had put this on You-Tube. In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to share one of my scenes here with you on Vimeo.

The Cobbler
The Cobbler (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Artair) is a mountain of 884 metres (2,900 ft) height located near the head of Loch Long in Scotland. Although only a Corbett, it is "one of the most impressive summits in the Southern Highlands", and is also the most important site for rock climbing in the Southern Highlands. Many maps include the name Ben Arthur (an anglicisation of the Gaelic), but the name The Cobbler is more widely used.
Arrochar Alps
The mountain is the most spectacular, although by no means the highest of the so-called Arrochar Alps, due to its distinctive, large rocky summit features which are supposed to represent a cobbler bending over his last. The features are visible many miles away from the mountain. Despite the mountain falling short of Munro height, due to its summit features, ease of access, and excellent summit views, it is one of the most popular mountains in Scotland.
Three summits
The Cobbler has three distinctive summits: the middle one is the highest. The top is crowned by a rocky outcrop that marks the true summit. A very good head for heights is required to attain the true summit, which can best be reached by crawling through a hole (known as the needle) in the summit rock formation from the north side to the south. This leads to a ledge around 1 m (3 ft 3 in) wide, with a sheer drop of well over 30 m (100 ft) on one side. The ledge is steeply inclined, and some scrambling ability is necessary to negotiate it and eventually gain the summit. Using this route is known as "threading the needle". The easiest descent is by the same route – however, this is more difficult and extreme care must be taken, especially when descending the final part of the ledge. The mica schist rock is very slippery in the wet and falls can be deadly.

Adam Sandler
Adam Richard Sandler (born September 9, 1966) is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, film producer, and musician. After becoming a Saturday Night Live cast member, Sandler went on to star in many Hollywood feature films that combined have grossed over $2 billion at the box office. He is best known for his comedic roles, such as in the films Billy Madison (1995), the sports comedies Happy Gilmore (1996) and The Waterboy (1998), the romantic comedy The Wedding Singer (1998), Big Daddy (1999), and Mr. Deeds (2002), and voicing Dracula in Hotel Transylvania (2012) and Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015). He has ventured into more dramatic territory with his roles in Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Spanglish (2004), Reign Over Me (2007), and Funny People (2009).
Sandler has released five comedy albums in his career – They're All Gonna Laugh at You! (1993) and What the Hell Happened to Me? (1996) are both certified double-platinum. His novelty song, "The Chanukah Song", has been released in four different variations.

Dustin Hoffman
Dustin Lee Hoffman (born August 8, 1937) is an American actor and director with a career in film, television, and theatre since 1960. He has been known for his versatile portrayals of antiheroes and vulnerable characters. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1979 (for Kramer vs. Kramer) and 1988 (for Rain Man).
He first drew critical praise for starring in the play Eh?, for which he won a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk Award. This was soon followed by his breakthrough 1967 film role as Benjamin Braddock, the title character, in The Graduate. Since then, Hoffman's career has largely been focused on cinema, with sporadic returns to television and the stage. His subsequent notable films include Midnight Cowboy, Little Big Man, Straw Dogs, Papillon, Lenny, Marathon Man, All the President's Men, Kramer vs. Kramer, Tootsie, Rain Man, Hook and Wag the Dog.
Aside from his two Academy award wins, Hoffman has been nominated for seven Academy Awards, plus thirteen Golden Globes, winning six (including an honorary one) and has won four BAFTAs, three Drama Desk Awards, a Genie Award, and an Emmy Award. Hoffman received the AFI Life Achievement Award in 1999, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. Hoffman made his directorial debut in 2012, with Quartet.

*This is a University project under the module 160MC - Developing Meaning In Media Production* *The soundtrack is a cover of John Mayers - Age Of Worry* A shoe cobbler is a craftsman or woman who specializes in repairing shoes. Traditionally, cobblers also made shoes, although most modern cobblers focus on repair and restoration, not manufacture of new shoes. Cobblers have been working with shoes for centuries, and cobbling is one of the oldest professions in the world. Historically, people purchased shoes from the cobbler, and used the cobbler's services to continually repair the shoes as needed. A single pair of shoes could last for a decade or more with judicious resoling, refinishing, and minor repair work, giving the wearer a great deal of mileage.

Richard Williams'ın "The Thief and the Cobbler" ("Hırsız ve Kunduracı") filmi otuz yıla yakın prodüksyon süreci sonunda değişik versyonlarla "tamamlanıp" video olarak piyasaya sürüldüyse de hiçbir zaman gerçek anlamda tamamlanamamıştı. 1990 Ekim'inden 1991 Mayıs sonuna kadar ben de bu filmde animatör olarak çalıştım ve "ölen haberci" karakterini (atıyla beraber) çizdim. O karakterin filmde görüldüğü kadarının tamamı benimdir. (Aynı karakteri daha evvelden Art Babbitt çizmiş ama onun yaptıklarından birşey kalmamış; ben de animasyonlarımı yaparken Babbitt'in sahnelerini görmemiştim.) Birkaç sene önce filmin meraklıları filmi orijinaline en yakın hâliyle montajlamışlar. Bu versyonun You-Tube'a çıktığını farkettim ve bunun bende uyandırdığı nostaljik hislere uyarak sahnelerimden birini koyuyor...

Bu sahne Richard Williams'da yaptığım ilk sahneydi. Neredeyse bir dakika uzunluğunda, yanlış hatırlamıyorsam bir buçuk ay sürdü. Sene 1990. Sol altta doğrulup tekrar devrilen bir zavallı var, onu yapan asistanım Sharon Smith, ben değil. Akbabaları kim yaptı bilmiyorum. This was the first scene I did at Richard Williams. It's almost a full minute long and as far as I remember, took a month and a half to finish. The year was 1990. The poor guy at fhe bottom left who tries to lift himself only to collapse again was animated by my assistant Sharon Smith. I don't know who animated the vultures.

A shoe cobbler is a craftsman or woman who specializes in repairing shoes. Traditionally, cobblers also made shoes, although most modern cobblers focus on repair and restoration, not manufacture of new shoes.
Cobblers have been working with shoes for centuries, and cobbling is one of the oldest professions in the world. Historically, people purchased shoes from the cobbler, and used the cobbler's services to continually repair the shoes as needed. A single pair of shoes could last for a decade or more with judicious resoling, refinishing, and minor repair work, giving the wearer a great deal of mileage.

Richard Williams'ın "The Thief and the Cobbler" ("Hırsız ve Kunduracı") filmi otuz yıla yakın prodüksyon süreci sonunda değişik versyonlarla "tamamlanıp" video olarak piyasaya sürüldüyse de hiçbir zaman gerçek anlamda tamamlanamamıştı. 1990 Ekim'inden 1991 Mayıs sonuna kadar ben de bu filmde animatör olarak çalıştım ve "ölen haberci" karakterini (atıyla beraber) çizdim. O karakterin filmde görüldüğü kadarının tamamı benimdir. (Aynı karakteri daha evvelden Art Babbitt çizmiş ama onun yaptıklarından birşey kalmamış; ben de animasyonlarımı yaparken Babbitt'in sahnelerini görmemiştim.) Birkaç sene önce filmin meraklıları filmi orijinaline en yakın hâliyle montajlamışlar. (Art Babbitt had had a go with the character but nothing remains of that in the finished film. I had not seen Babbitt's version when I made my scenes so there was no influence there.) A couple of years ago some enthusiasts fished out all the unused animation and put together a version as close to Richard Williams' original conception as possible. They called it "The Thief Recobbled". I recently found out that someone had put this on You-Tube. In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to share one of my scenes here with you on Vimeo.

This was the first scene I did at Richard Williams. It's almost a full minute long and as far as I remember, took a month and a half to finish. The year was 1990. The poor guy at fhe bottom left who tries to lift himself only to collapse again was animated by my assistant Sharon Smith. I don't know who animated the vultures.

During spring I was wandering around the UK and I decided to catch a train to Scotland to meet up with a good friend of mine. The adventure that followed was the ultimate example of why I live this life.
