Made in conjunction with the Museum's 2004 exhibition entitled Art of the Osage, this video pairs visual imagery with interviews from tribal historians and members to provide a glimpse into the history of the Osage Indians. Using as a reference point the Native American tribe's past, including its forced displacement onto an Oklahoma reservation in the 19th century, the video paints a portrait of a modern, continuously evolving people.

Violet (Meryl Streep) ist die Matriarchin einer Familie aus Oklohoma. CBS News Sunday Morning
CBS News Sunday Morning is an American newsmagazine television program that has aired on CBS since January 28, 1979. Created by Robert Northshield and original host Charles Kuralt, the 90-minute program currently airs Sundays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Eastern, Pacific Time from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in all other time zones (live in the Eastern & Central time zones, and on tape delay elsewhere). The current host of the program is Charles Osgood, who took over duties from Kuralt upon his retirement on April 3, 1994, and has since surpassed Kuralt's tenure as host. Substitute anchors for Osgood include CBS correspondents Lee Cowan, Anthony Mason, Charlie Rose and Jane Pauley.
History
The program was originally conceived to be a broadcast version of a Sunday newspaper magazine supplement, most typified by the Sunday New York Times Magazine. The format was conceived as the Sunday equivalent of the CBS Morning News, which following Sunday Morning's debut was retitled to reflect each day of the week (such as Monday Morning, Tuesday Morning, etc.).

Meryl Streep
Mary Louise "Meryl" Streep (born June 22, 1949) is an American actress. A three-time Academy Award winner, she is regarded as the "best actress of her generation". Streep made her professional stage debut in The Playboy of Seville in 1971, and went on to receive a 1976 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play for A Memory of Two Mondays/27 Wagons Full of Cotton. She made her screen debut in the 1977 television film The Deadliest Season, and made her film debut later that same year in Julia. In 1978, she won an Emmy Award for her role in the miniseries Holocaust, and received her first Academy Award nomination for The Deer Hunter. Nominated for 19 Academy Awards in total, Streep has more nominations than any other actor or actress in history, winning Best Supporting Actress for Kramer vs. Kramer (1979), and Best Actress for Sophie's Choice (1982) and for The Iron Lady (2011).
Streep is one of only six actors to have won three or more competitive Academy Awards for acting. Violet (Meryl Streep) ist die Matriarchin einer Familie aus Oklohoma. Nachdem sich ihr Mann Beverly (Sam Shepard) das Leben genommen hat, kommen die verstreuten Familienmitglieder zur Beerdigung wieder zusammen. Violets zynische Art und Zwang immer Auszusprechen, was sie gerade denkt, lässt den Trip jedoch für alle zur Hölle werden.
Ihre Töchter Barbara (Julia Roberts) und Karen (Juliette Lewis) kehren seit langer Zeit zum ersten Mal zusammen mit ihren Lebenspartnern in ihre Heimatstadt zurück. Ivy (Julianne Nicholson) war an Violets Seite geblieben, um ihr im Haus zu helfen. Außerdem gesellen sich Violets Schwester Mattie Fae (Margo Martindale), zusammen mit ihrem Mann Charles (Chris Cooper) und ihrem Sohn Little Charles (Benedict Cumberbatch) zu der Trauerfeier. Obwohl alle Beteiligten das Ereignis möglichst schnell hinter sich bringen werden, reizt Violets Zynik schließlich alle zu Aussagen, die pünktlich zum Leichenschmaus allerlei dunkle Familiengeheimnisse ans Tageslicht bringen.
Nach dem rätselhaften Tod von Beverly Weston (Sam Shepard) kommt die Familie aus allen Himmelsrichtungen zurück nach Osage County. Mutter Violet (Meryl Streep), bissig und verbittert, trauert auf ihre eigene, unversöhnliche Weise. Sie schluckt mehr Schmerzmittel als ihr gut tun und lässt an nichts und niemandem ein gutes Haar. ln ihrem Haus im schwül-heißen Oklahoma sind weder die drei Töchter noch die angeheiratete Verwandtschaft vor ihren Beschimpfungen sicher.
So dauert es nicht lange, bis alte und neue Konflikte aufbrechen und man sich buchstäblich an die Kehle geht. Für die Töchter Barbara (Julia Roberts), Karen (Juliette Lewis) und lvy (Julianne Nicholson) ist klar, dass etwas geschehen muss. Aber Violet ist längst nicht so hilflos, wie alle glauben.
