WALMART TRUCK DRIVER WINS STATE COMPETITION:  Danny Bradley of Hudson recently was named the best three-axle semitrailer driver in Florida after winning his class championship at the 2017 Florida Truck Driving Competition in Daytona Beach. He now advances to the National Truck Driving Championship in August in Orlando. Bradley works for Walmart Transportation in Hernando County, where he is a local and line-haul CDL (commercial driver?  s license) driver. It was his first time competing in the competition. Throughout his 30-year career, Bradley has accumulated more than 2.5 million safe driving miles without a single reportable accident. RESTAURANT OPENS AT WIREGRASS: Noble Crust, a seasonal Italian with Southern soul restaurant, recently opened in the Shops at Wiregrass mall in Wesley Chapel. HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED FOR SPONSORSHIPS: Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point was recently recognized by the American Cancer Society as a Platinum sponsor for the society's Relay for Life in Hudson, raising more than $6,000. The hospital also was recognized as a Pink Ribbon Supporter for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Pasco. The hospital raised more than $5,000 for that event.

    ST. PETERSBURG — Two years ago, Ichicoro wowed New York City with its Tampa-style ramen, noodles overflowing with Florida freshness and ingredients. Even Gwyneth Paltrow showed up to the pop-up to slurp noodles.

    The owners of Ichicoro Ramen in Seminole Heights announced that they will open a location inside the former site of Station House at 260 1st Ave S, in downtown St. Petersburg Tuesday afternoon.     ST. PETERSBURG — The StayBridge Suites hotel in St. Petersburg was purchased by Rhode Island-based Procaccianti Companies for $20.5 million, according to Hunter Hotel Advisors, the firm which brokered the deal.

    SAN FRANCISCO — Federal safety officials are investigating why an Air Canada jet nearly landed on a taxiway holding four other planes instead of a runway at San Francisco International Airport.

    Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the pilot of the Airbus A320 inadvertently lined up to land Friday night on a taxiway that runs parallel to the runway.
