Milton "Bill" Finger (February 8, 1914 – January 18, 1974) was an American comic strip and comic book writer best known as the belatedly credited co-creator, with Bob Kane, of the DC Comics character Batman and the co-architect of the series' development. Years after Finger's death, Kane acknowledged his contributions.
Finger also wrote many of the original 1940s Green Lantern stories after co-creating the original Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and would go on to contribute to the development of numerous other comic book series.
He was posthumously inducted into the comic book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1999. His name provided the basis for the Bill Finger Award, founded by Jerry Robinson and presented annually at the San Diego Comic-Con International to honor excellence in comic book writing.
Bill Finger was born in Denver, Colorado, to a Jewish family. His father, Louis Finger (b. 1890, Austria), emigrated to the U.S. in 1907. His mother Tessie (b. circa 1893, New York City) also gave birth to Bill Finger's sisters, Emily and Gilda. The family moved to The Bronx, New York City, where during the Great Depression Louis Finger was forced to close his tailor shop.
Bob Kane (born Robert Kahn; October 24, 1915 – November 3, 1998) was an American comic book artist, who is credited for co-creating the DC Comics superhero Batman with writer Bill Finger. He was inducted into the comic-book industry's Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1994 and into the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1996.
Robert Kahn was born in New York City, New York. His parents, Augusta and Herman Kahn, an engraver, were of Eastern European Jewish descent. A high school friend of fellow cartoonist and future Spirit creator Will Eisner, Robert Kahn graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School and then legally changed his name to Bob Kane. He studied art at Cooper Union before "joining the Max Fleischer Studio as a trainee animator in 1934".
He entered the comics field two years later, in 1936, freelancing original material to editor Jerry Iger's comic book Wow, What A Magazine!, including his first pencil and ink work on the serial Hiram Hick. The following year, Kane began to work at Iger's subsequent studio, Eisner & Iger, which was one of the first comic book "packagers" that produced comics on demand for publishers entering the new medium during its late-1930s and 1940s Golden Age. Among his work there was the funny animal feature "Peter Pupp" — which belied its look with overtones of "mystery and menace" — published in the U.K. comic magazine Wags and reprinted in Fiction House's Jumbo comics. Kane also produced work through Eisner & Iger for two of the companies that would later merge to form DC Comics, including the humor features "Ginger Snap" in More Fun Comics, "Oscar the Gumshoe" for Detective Comics, and "Professor Doolittle" for Adventure Comics. For that last title he went on to do his first adventure strip, "Rusty and his Pals".
Marc Tyler (born September 27, 1988) is an American football running back. He was originally signed as undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football league. Tyler played college football at the University of Southern California.
Tyler attended Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, California, while his family lived in Palmdale. He stayed with the family of a teammate. In his senior season, Tyler scored 31 touchdowns and averaged 12.2 yards per carry. Tyler broke his left leg during a playoff game in November 2006; as a result, he had a stainless steel rod surgically implanted in his leg.
Despite the injury, Tyler remained a 5-star recruit and was ranked as the 2nd best running back prospect in the U.S. behind fellow USC recruit Joe McKnight, and the 17th best overall. At Oaks Christian High School, Tyler played alongside quarterback Jimmy Clausen, the nation's #1 rated recruit overall.
Tyler enrolled at University of Southern California in August 2007. After redshirting the 2007 season while recovering from a broken leg that he suffered in his senior season at Oaks Christian HS, he was expected to play in 2008. In the season opener at Virginia, Tyler scored the first touchdown of his collegiate career with 02:33 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. In April 2011, Tyler was involved in two off the field incidents. He allegedly spit on a female student while intoxicated and in another incident he allegedly inappropriately touched another female student at a bar near campus. On July 18, 2011, Tyler was suspended for the season opener against Minnesota for making inappropriate comments to the media.
Batman is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, and first appeared in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939). Originally named "the Bat-Man", the character is also referred to by such epithets as the "Caped Crusader", the "Dark Knight", and the "World's Greatest Detective".
Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, an American billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and owner of Wayne Enterprises. After witnessing the murder of his parents as a child, he swore revenge on criminals, an oath tempered by a sense of justice. Wayne trains himself both physically and intellectually and crafts a bat-inspired persona to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional Gotham City, with assistance from various supporting characters, including his butler Alfred, police commissioner Jim Gordon, and vigilante allies such as Robin. Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; rather, he relies on his genius intellect, physical prowess, martial arts abilities, detective skills, science and technology, vast wealth, provocation of fear and intimidation, and an indomitable will. A large assortment of villains make up Batman's rogues gallery, including his archenemy the Joker.

Who really created Batman? Was it the Caped Crusader's officially credited creator, Bob Kane, or was it his secret collaborator, Bill Finger? What did editor Vince Sullivan, artist Jerry Robinson, writer Gardner Fox, and others contribute when first shaping the Batman mythos, from the Dark Knight's debut in 1939 until he gained a young crime-fighting partner, a clownish arch-foe, and a feline femme fatale one year later? Pulling from interviews, biographies, personal communications, and external evidence, experts conduct a forensic investigation into this question of historical, cultural, and ethical importance. Hulu has released a new trailer for Batman and Bill, a documentary shedding light on Batman’s forgotten creator. As noted in the trailer, most fans know Bob Kane as the sole creator of Batman. However, Kane’s contributions beyond the initial impulse to create a superhero who was an inversion of Superman were quite limited. It was artist Bill Finger who perfect Batman’s design, drew his stories, and added key elements to the character’s world, including Robin, the Joker, Commissioner Gordon, Gotham City, and much more. Everyone thinks that Bob Kane created Batman, but that’s not the whole truth. One author makes it his crusade to seek justice for Bill Finger, a struggling writer who was the key figure in creating the iconic superhero, from concept to costume to the very character we all kno...

We raid this city in search of survivors
But the ones who are still alive that scream out to be dead
This hatred fueled by a different prayer. You brought us to our knees
This hatred fueled by a different prayer. If you created us then why kill us?
Why did I descend from your rose line? Was it punishment or brought forth with anger? Why did we descend from your rose line? Did we all deserve this? Did we all have to die?How can we believe you when we don't believe in ourselves?
There are miracles and disasters in the world we know today
And we can't see the white light shinning until darkness fills the day
You don't need protecting when there's nothing to protect. There is nothing left to fear
This is not the time to be wasting the precious memories
This is not the time to be faking
