Jock Palfreeman is an Australian anti-fascist currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in Bulgaria.  In December 2007 in Sofia, Bulgaria he intervened in an attack by a gang of racist thugs on two Roma men, who then turned on him.  In the ensuing chaos two of Jock’s attackers were wounded, one fatally.  Jock was convicted of murder in 2010 and began serving his sentence.

Since his conviction, Bulgaria has consistently refused to transfer Jock to serve the remainder of his sentence in Australia, in contravention of its own treaties.
