THE ZIMMERMEN - Way Too Casual
What Really Hurts / Shaking Hand / Saddle Brides / All The Boys Need Love / Moral Obligation / Ties That Bind / Makes No Difference / Intellectual Dishonesty / Waiting / Corsican Dreams / Forever After / The Waltz (bonus track).
Produced by Lobby Loyde
The Zimmermen: J. Dowler: vocals / M. Holmes: guitars / P. Tulloch: guitars, vocals, organ / A. Brooker: bass / G. Perry: drums, percussion + B. Haynes: piano, organ.
A pun on Bob Dylan's real name, Robert Zimmermen, John Dowler's Australian country-rock outfit Zimmermen are best remembered for their standout hit "Don't Go to Sydney." After working with several bands during the late '70s and early '80s, John Dowler formed Zimmermen in June 1983. They found immediate success on the Melbourne pub-circuit where they supported such acts as the Hoodoo Gurus and the Sunnyboys.
By the end of 1984, bandmembers Steve Connolly and Michael Barclay had left to join the Paul Kelly Band which became the Coloured Girls (P. Kelly) the following year. Guitarist Peter Tulloch and drummer Graeme Perry replaced them for the group's debut single, "Don't Go to Sydney," released in January 1985. It became one of the most successful Australian independent singles of 1986 and, after Neil Osborn joined the band as permanent drummer, the band released their debut album, "Rivers of Corn", which contained a second single: "Ordinary Man."
The recording of their follow-up stalled in 1987 when Peter "Pedro" Bull was replaced by Alan Brooker and Neil Osborn by former drummer Graeme Perry. Unsatisfied with the recording by the former lineup, John Dowler took the band back into the studio in November 1988.
The single "What Really Hurts" was released in February 1989, followed by the album "Way Too Casual" in April. A final national tour followed before The Zimmermen disbanded in 1990. John Dowler went on to release a solo album in 1993 titled "Low Society".

SONIC BOOM BOYS - Generation 3
Cheap and Nasty Rock N' Roll / Rocket Boy / Don't Only Happen to Girls / Goin' Under
C'mon Everybody / You Ain't No Star / Suicide / Skull City / Ain't Gonna Bring Us Down / Hand on Heart.
Produced by Sonic Boom Boys.
Sonic Boom Boys: Geoff Star: vocals / Jonte Grant: drums / Jet Storm: guitar / Luke Isabelle: bass.
"I first heard London, UK based garage glam slam punk n' rollers The Sonic Boom Boys back in the long hot Summer of 2001. The SBB's had just recorded their debut album "Generation 3" but their bass player had left and my pal (and now bassist/singer for The Eruptors) Jeff Pepsii: Reich Fuhrer of Rock, got the gig.
The album was a short sharp shock of sleazy rock n' roll to the London music scene, and the adrenaline-fueled gigs were even more frantic, sealing the SBB's reputation as one of the loudest and fastest cheap and nasty rock n' roll bands this side of Scandinavia. Visually, Sonic Boom Boys gigs kind of resembled the cover from the Hanoi Rocks album "Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes", generally rocking out and throwing shapes in a blizzard of oversized shades, cool threads, and rock star haircuts. The lead guitarist was called Jet Storm and the front man was called Geoff Starr, we all thought that was pretty cool.
After a few treks around Europe rocking out and inciting mayhem, Jeff Pepsii (bass) and Jonty (drums) left. They were replaced by Aku (bass) and Sasu (drums), and this new SBB's line up decided to go to Holland and re-record the song "Ain't Gonna Bring Us Down" from the album, plus a cover version of Social Distortion's "Another State Of Mind", for release as a strictly limited 7" single on coloured vinyl (Buy It HERE). The new skuzzed up and fuzzed up mega up low-fi version of "Ain't Gonna Bring Us Down" is closer to the speed and aggression of the Sonic Boom Boys live experience than was achieved on the original album version. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it virtually jumped off the turntable, took a flick knife to my speakers, and threw a cement mixer through the front window. Or at least that's how it sounded. Apparently they recorded these songs with all the amp settings and pedals turned up to the max. Because of that, you really need to turn this up to a ridiculous volume to get through the feed back and distortion drenched production, but then again, what sort of volume do you expect to play obnoxiously distorted sleaze punk at ?!
I think that this is a pretty cool single. Anyway don't just take my word for it because I hear that you can check it out for yourself. Just don't forget to crank it up to 13! Source

THE DOGS - Hypersensitive
All of the ordering information for the CD or digital download is available here: www.thedetroitdogs.com & don't forget to get on their mailing list !
"...In the parallel release of “Doggy Days,” 2-disc live performance dvd of The Dogs in Japan replete with astonishing, historic audio like Sid Vicious and Tony Sales jamming with The Dogs at the Whiskey A Gogo, 1978 and other rare treasures sound-tracked against montages of The Dogs’ entire band history with flyers, headlines (yes, they were arrested. Repeatedly) and many, many stunning photographs such as those by yours truly, MC5 legend, provocateur, humanitarian and still performer of his own supercharged guitar riffs, Brother Wayne Kramer wrote an extended booklet essay on The Dogs’ four-decade continuity as a group. In same he proffered, “…The Dogs: brutal, hard-charging, ferocious, uncompromising, committed, raw, etc. et al. But that all seems to miss the point. The point is really… That their work continues to be important to the band themselves and a community of friends and fans around the world fortifies and validates their accomplishment… Is this important? I think it is. Why? Because it tells me I’m not alone. I’m not the only nutcase out there who cares… That The Dogs have existed in a corner of the world of music on their own, under their own power means more to me than hit records and mass marketing… They made it happen in the face of a world that said, ‘Just who in the hell do you think you are?’ ‘We’re The Dogs’ is the only answer that matters...” Source

"...Once upon a time in mid-’70s Los Angeles, The Dogs surreptitiously were lumped into the Do It Yourself ethos of the nascent punk scene, ironic since they had zoomed past all that before they even relocated there and started their High Times rehearsal/recording commune and Detroit Records label on Gower Street in Hollywood. They’d already fashioned same as teenagers in the late ’60s without industry connections, blowing the locals and visitors alike offstage in all the important venues of the Detroit/Ann Arbor/Lansing radius, later accomplishing same in Greenwich Village, New York City ’74 where their punk community sure noticed what The Dogs were doing, even if the rest of the entertainment world remained deaf, blind and moronically obstructionist.
D.I.Y.? Old hat much? For The Dogs rather, their enduring credo was Do It Anyway, come hell, high water, or the foremost enemy of rock and roll, the passage of time. Just… Do It Anyway." Source

MISS 45 - Steals The Show
Colombian Romance / Shanghai Shakes / No Way / Meet Me At the Nightclub / Weekend Girl / I Need Some Quick-glue / Just a Joke / Truckstop Love / Too Cool to Dance / Honey I'm Leaving / Pills and Champagne.
Produced by Miss 45.
Miss 45: D. Francisco: vocals, bass & keys / F. Vendetta: guitar & back-up vocals / Colonel M. Knoxx: guitar, vocals, egg & tambourine / D. Frankenstein: drums.
Miss 45 play shamelessly poppy glam rock’n’roll with a punk attitude, perfect melodies and infectious choruses. Razor sharp pop anthems and unworldly catchy barbed wire ballads drenched in a blood-red river of emotions and rebellious groove. In the unholy year of 2008, the sharply dressed Stockholm quartet are essentially the sole defenders of the sacred formula.
Since the formation of the band three years ago, D. Fransisco, F. Vendetta, Colonel M. Knoxx and D. Frankenstein have pounded through a range of selected live shows and intensive rehearsals, coming
ever closer and closer to the perfect mix of controlled chaos and finely calibrated pop genius. With their eponymously titled debut EP from 2006, which received widespread critical acclaim in the US and European press, the band was perilously close to perfection. But now, the circle is complete.
On the full length debut "Steals the Show" released on April 1 2008, Miss 45 has managed to produce a completely unique imprint on the worn out and stale three-chords-concept. With the record’s 34 explosive minutes of intensive licks, the band has successfully combined the best from the old heroes such as New York Dolls, Ramones and Chuck Berry, with their own, updated sound for the 21st Century.
Miss 45 has blessed us with a rich oasis in the contemporary desert of tone-deaf indie bands dressed in ill-fitting blazers and sluggish heavy metal machismo. Simply put, if you’re searching for of maniacal partyrock’n’roll with enough heart, soul and electric high voltage to put all thorax clinics, private psychologists and greedy corporations on this side of the Atlantic out of business, look no further. KIM FOWLEY - Animal God Of The Streets
Night Of The Hunter / Long Live Rock'n'roll / Wherewolf Dynamite / Is America Dead ? / Rumble / California Swamp Dance / Hobo Wine / Dangerous Visions / Ain't Got No Transportation.
Produced by K. Fowley.
Kim Fowley: all vocals & instruments (Tracks recorded from 1969 to 1971)
One of the most colorful characters in the annals of rock & roll, Kim Fowley was, over the course of his decades-long career, a true jack-of-all-trades: singer, songwriter, producer, manager, disc jockey, and published poet. He was also the catalyst behind much of the music to emerge from the Los Angeles area during the 1960s and '70s, guiding his associates and protégés to fame and fortune while remaining himself a shadowy cult figure well outside the margins of the mainstream.
The son of actor Douglas Fowley (Singin' in the Rain), he was born July 27, 1942, in L.A., and made his first recordings with drummer Sandy Nelson during the late '50s. After working with a number of short-lived groups including the Paradons and the Innocents, Fowley found his first taste of success by producing the Top 20 hit "Cherry Pie" for schoolmates Gary S. Paxton and Skip Battin, who performed under the name Skip & Flip. With Battin, Fowley next created the group the Hollywood Argyles, who topped the charts in 1960 with the novelty smash "Alley Oop." The duo subsequently masterminded Paul Revere & the Raiders' first hit, "Long Hair," and in 1962 launched the Rivingtons, scoring with the classic "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow." Another novelty hit, B. Bumble & the Stingers' "Nut Rocker," reached number one in the U.K., and in 1964 Fowley even began handling promotion chores for singer P.J. Proby.
In the mid-'60s, Fowley became immersed in the Los Angeles counterculture, befriending Frank Zappa and his band the Mothers of Invention, and later appearing on their Freak Out! LP. A prolific songwriter, he also composed material for the Byrds, the Beach Boys, Soft Machine, Cat Stevens, and Them, and produced the likes of Gene Vincent, Warren Zevon, and Helen Reddy. Finally, in 1967 Fowley issued his own solo debut, Love Is Alive and Well, a record that found him closely aligned with the flower power movement. A series of solo records followed, including 1968's "Born to Be Wild", 1970's "The Day the Earth Stood Still", and 1973's "International Heroes", but none garnered the commercial success of so many of his other projects.
In 1975, after completing the LP "Animal God of the Streets", Fowley returned to his Svengali role by assembling the notorious Runaways, a teenage hard rock girl group featuring a young Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and Cherie Currie. Designed as a manufactured novelty, the scheme was entirely successful, and after the original group splintered, Fowley even launched another Runaways in the '80s. (Another girl group, the Orchids, was his idea as well.) Still, his standing within the musical community greatly diminished over the course of the following decades; although he continued recording, most notably with 1980's "Hollywood Confidential", 1993's "Hotel Insomnia", and 1995's "Kings of Saturday Night" (a collaboration with Ben Vaughn), his music remained primarily of interest to his die-hard cult following. Cheap Rewards Records presents THE LIMIT
THE LIMIT sprang from fertile ground. In the early 1980s, New Orleans was home to a thriving punk, hardcore, new wave and metal scene. The Limit, who coined their brand of music “powerful pop,” began playing the local club scene in the spring of 1982.
The trio recorded their debut EP at the end of 1982 and released it as a 10” in May of 1983 in an edition of 500 copies. Featuring four infectiously catchy tunes, the record sold well and received promising reviews.
Although the band enjoyed modest success in Louisiana, drawing large crowds to their shows, they were unable to gain interest from major labels. The band lost momentum and ultimately broke up in January of 1984.
30 years after The Limit recorded the songs for their sole release, Cheap Rewards Records is excited to give new life to their music. The Limit LP compiles the songs from the band’s self-released EP, along with a demo of their shoulda-been hit, “Uh Oh,” plus an entire side of previously unreleased live recordings. Expertly restored from original source tapes, this record is a remarkable listen from start to finish (100 copies White; 400 copies Black & all copies come with a free digital download card)
Pre-Sale Begins: March 5, 2012; Ship Date: March 12, 2012

SCOTT MORGAN needs our help !!!
Scott Morgan (Sonic's Rendezvous Band, the Rationals, the Solution...) needs our help. About three months ago, Scott was diagnosed with severe liver disease and ascites (no Hep C). He is stable and living at home but we still don't know to what extent damage can be reversed. This healing is a very long and slow process and we simply have to wait to see how his body responds to treatment. Scott is firmly committed to getting well without surgery and is doing everything in his power to make that happen. Needless to say, he quit drinking at once. Many of you have asked about his voice. It sounds very scratchy and weak at this point and he hasn't even attempted to sing! Once again, the extent to which it will come back remains to be seen. He needs to see a specialist for diagnosis. We'll keep you posted.
Financially, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital has an assistance program that covers part of his bills, (bless them), however, there is still the other part that Scott has to pay, which is significant, plus anything outside their health system such as prescriptions, etc. Although we have applied for Medicaid and other Social Services, these are difficult days for those funds and nothing has been approved as yet.In order to show our support and help Scott through tough times, a group of his friends have gotten together to stage a benefit performance and to solicit funds. The plans for the benefit are just under way so there is little to report as yet, but stay tuned to this page for updates. If you can help Scott by sending a donation or buying merchandise, that would really help him a lot.
All of the information you need to buy merchandise or send a donation with a check is on the Merch link. Donations through PayPal (click here!)can be made by clicking on the Donate button. If you don’t have a PayPal account, they accept credit cards.
