I whispered. That was a month ago. I went back to the cafe the next day. And the day after that. And the day after that. Nothing. I was just a fling to Zayn. His love for the night. And yet even after all this time. I still think about him. The connection we had. The night we shared. It will all be something I will never forget. Even though it was earsed from his memory in all of one night. I looked up at the evening sky walking alone through downtown. Suddenly something bright caught my eye. I almost laughed and crossed the street to the flashing sign of the starlight cafe. I haven't been here since I was stood up. Afraid that I would see Zayn, or worse not see him. I gripped the doorknob tightly debating with myself. I finally took a deep breath and walked in. The music blared as people walked around, drinks in hand. I made my way to the stools near the front. Where Zayn and I sat that night. I stared at the seat not sure weather to leave, laugh, or cry. "So you still remember." a deep husky voice said behind me. Startled I spun around, almost tripping over my feet. Two strong arms caught me, and I looked up to see the same brown eyes, dark hair, and teasing smile. Zayn. I felt tears start to come to my eyes. I shook his arms off me. "I'm sorry." I said coldly. "Do I know you?" he took a step back, clearly surprised. "J- Jasmine." he stuttered adorably. "Its me Zayn." He brown eyes pleaded with mine. I took one final glance around the starlight cafe. This will be my last time coming here. "Sorry." I said pushing past him. "Doesn't ring a bell." I felt him grab my hands and pull me towards him. He wrapped his arms around me and I found myself breathing in his sweet scent. "No." he begged his deep voice shaking. "You DO. Remember." I fought the urge to hug him back. "You have to remember." his voice came down to a whisper. Anger overwhemled me. I pushed him back the tears beginning to stream down my face. "Why should I have to remember anything?!!!" I demanded. "Your the one who left Zayn! Your the one who forgot about me!" a guitly look crossed his face as my throat began to burn with sobs. "I'm so sorry." he looked down at his hands. "I really do care about you. The boys and I were so busy." that cut me like a knive. I wiped my sleeve across my face. "it's okay Zayn." I said giving up. "I understand. You could have any girl you wanted. I was just yours for the night." he began to protest but I cut him off. "Goodbye Zayn." I whispered. Taking one last look at the boy I fell in love with and made my way to the door. I was almost there when the room was overwhemled with mic feedback. I covered my ears and kept walking forward. "Or else we'll play, play, play all the same old games." a deep angelic voice sang without music. Zayn. I resisited the strong urge to turn around. To run onstage. To sing with him. I kept walking. "And we'll wait, wait, wait for the end to change." I was almost at the door now. So why do I like I'm making a mistake? "Jasmine please?" his voice cracked. I turned not able to fight any longer. He smiled. He began to walk off stage towards me, the spotlight following his every move. "I won't make another mistake." he declared looking me straight in the eye. "I won't lose you Jamine. I can't" ohhs and awwwws echoed through the audience. I took a step toward. Feeling safe in this moment. With him it all felt right. "please." he said again. "I love you." he audience urged me on as Zayn's soft hands stroked my check. I took another step forward, closing the gap between us. "I love you too." I whispered. He smiled and his soft lips crashed onto mine. The crowd roared as Zayn dropped the mic and spun me around. A slow song began to play as he put me down. My arms still around his neck, his on my waist. "You know." I whispered as he looked at me with his bright smile. "I've never met anyone like you." he wiped away the last of my tears. "How so love?" he asked. "Because after all the guys that have cheated, lied and broke my heart." Zayn began to pull me in for another kiss. "For the first time, I know this is really love."
