openfooty Ethos
Youtube - video API
AOL - truveo API
Open Calais - semantic toolkit
Google - too much to list!
Historically, in order to build anything football related on the web, developers required oodles of time, luck, and above all, money. None of these pre-requisites are conducive to encouraging the emergence of innovative and compelling ideas.
openfooty breaks down these barriers and finally opens up a world of rich, up-to-date football data, putting it firmly at the developers fingertips - where it ought to be.
Why is openfooty so important?
Notorious gatekeepers of everything football, the beautiful game has long been the domain of the not so beautiful mega-rich corporations that surround it... they tell us what we want, when we want it, and how it should be consumed. This is the epitome of a closed system.
Opening the floodgates
The openfooty project endeavours to take a different approach. Rather than being the curators of tired old concepts, we aim to nurture the development of imaginative thinking, ideas, and creative solutions to problems that are yet to be realised. It is these ideas and solutions that the average football fan has been deprived of, and the average developer forced to leave confined to their imagination.
openfooty is leading the way in enabling developers and entrepreneurs who, like us, are excited - not intimidated - by the internet and the new ways it is allowing us to consume, gather and disseminate our passion for football.
There is no doubt in our minds that we speak for football fans everywhere when we say, we cannot wait to see these brilliant ideas come to life.

How can openfooty help the growth of my football business?
openfooty has partnerships with many leading companies that are embracing innovation and change in technology, and reaping the benefits that go hand in hand with the provision of open and adaptive solutions for their products and services.
One example of such a partnership is our integration of award winning football journalism from The Guardian. Utilising The Guardian Open Platform, openfooty developers are granted access to a range of Guardian content, from the latest news media, photos and podcasts, to match reports and minute-by-minute text commentary.
Presenting your content to a ready-made, eager to consume audience makes good business sense. Not only is it a fantastic opportunity to further promote your products and services, but it also allows you to tap into monetisation reservoirs that would have otherwise been missed opportunities.
To find out how we can help your football business grow you may be interested in reading more about our publisherconnect and fanconnect platforms.
We are interested in all kinds of datasets to compliment subsequent releases of the openfooty platform: from statistical match/club data to news, editorial and A/V media. For the most part, we'll do the tricky bits of actually integrating your content and making it all work - all we need from you is a thumbs up.
If you are in the business of producing football content, or you own a website that features rich football related datasets, then we'd like to discuss partnership opportunities with you.
White Label Solutions
The footytube team will soon be offering White Label solutions of dreamfooty - our award-winning community fantasy football game.
To add to the loveliness, our White Label solutions can be deployed on your site in a matter of minutes, and we will even share the footytube community with you so, if you're a start-up struggling for users, the footytube community will kickstart your traffic.
You will also be able to bring your own users into the footytube fold - users that participate on your site will be integrated into the footytube leaderboards and forum chat areas alongside regular footytube users.

Spreading the Karma
Occasionally we get emails from people asking if there is a donation page where they can send footytube some money. Whilst we truly appreciate the gesture, we don't accept donations for our work.
However, if your wallet still wants to say thank you, why not upgrade your footytube account to PRO+? All of the proceeds go towards footytube and the openfooty project, and the generous support of our users are what helps to pay our (and your!) bandwidth charges.
We also give 50% of all subscription profits directly to Kick4Life - our official charity partner.

We are always on the lookout for talented developers who share the same vision and feel-good tendencies that we do. And, since most of the footytube workforce have now developed R.S.I it means that we often have more awesome ideas than we do working joints. This is a problem, so it's always great to get a little help every now and again.
Currently we are on the lookout for:
PHP Developers with LOTS of spare time on their hands ;)
Widget Developers skilled in JS/Ajax
Flash and Actionscript gurus
Arty Peeps skilled in Illustrator/Photoshop
Drop us a line in the developer forum if any of this sounds like you.
