A forty-five year showbiz veteran, Doug's impressive career began as an actor in theater, television and feature films. Amongst his stage credits are Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine, the Broadway musical, Truckload from director and choreographer Pat Birch, and Neil Simon's Tony Award winning Brighton Beach Memoirs, replacing Matthew Broderick during his hiatus.

Having received Soap Opera Digest’s “Best Juvenile Actor” award for the daytime drama, “The Edge of Night”, Mr. McKeon starred in several mini-series such as James A. Michener's “Centennial”, “At Mother's Request” with Stephanie Powers, and Tom Hanks’ Emmy Award winning “From The Earth to The Moon”. Doug’s television movies include
“Desperate Lives”, “An Innocent Love”, “Heart of a Champion: The Ray Mancini Story”, and “Breaking Home Ties” with Jason Robards and Eva Marie Saint.

Though nominated for a Golden Globe in his feature film debut, “Uncle Joe Shannon”, McKeon is best remembered as Billy Ray in the Academy Award winning film “On Golden Pond” with Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn, and Jane Fonda. His other feature film credits include the cult horror movie favorite “I Spit on Your Grave 3”, Disney's “Night Crossing”, “Mischief”, “Turnaround”, “The Empty Mirror”, “Kounterfeit”, “Where the Red Fern Grows 2”, “Sub Down” and “Critical Mass”. He will next be seen in Rob Reiner’s film, “LBJ” starring Woody Harrelson, playing Senator Hubert Humphrey.
Doug studied filmmaking at the University of Southern California while majoring in creative writing. He directed several theater productions including Bernard Slade’s Tribute, Coming Attractions: An Evening of Brief Encounters, and Neil Simon's Prisoner of Second Avenue.

Doug made his feature film writing and directing debut with “The Boys of Sunset Ridge” starring Burt Young, John Heard, Ronny Cox and Pat Morita. His next film, “Come Away Home” starring Paul Dooley and Lea Thompson, won “Best Family Film” at the Valencia Film Festival. Doug has many films in development, including “Silent Knights”, “Digital Diva”, “Foreign Exchange” and “Flowertown”.
