STORYLINE
Various groups of protesters took to the streets in Indian-administered Kashmir on Monday as a curfew continued in many towns following a fourth day of sporadic clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
Police said the death toll in the violence that erupted during Muslim Eid holiday celebrations on Friday rose to three.
Authorities imposed curfews in seven towns in the Indian portion of Kashmir on Sunday, including Kishtwar, the town where Friday's clashes took place.
The town is 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-administered Kashmir.
In Srinagar on Monday, a group of lawyers chanted slogans to demand restoration of peace between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
They were stopped by police from marching towards the centre of the city.
Meanwhile, activists from Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Khawateen Markaz women's group demanded that the government provide adequate protection for the Muslim community in the Jammu region.
"This protest is against the attack on Muslim worshippers at Doda during Eid prayers. These rioters are backed by political parties like BJP (main opposition Bhartiya Janata Party) and Shiv Sena (a Hindu right-wing political party). The army is also on their side," said the chairperson of the group, Yasmeen Raja.
"We won't allow what BJP did in Gujarat to be repeated in Jammu," Raja said, referring to the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat state where over a thousand people, mostly Muslims, died.
Another group of protesters from the separatist Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) also gathered in Srinagar and chanted anti-India slogans, to express their solidarity with the Jammu Muslims.
The trouble in Kishtwar had erupted on Friday after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting pro-independence slogans during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
Indian authorities ordered an inquiry into the rioting and replaced the local police chief and the top civil administrator as part of their efforts to restore peace in the town.
Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989.
More than 68,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed.

Preparation
Peel off the skin and then squeeze out its juice And then Cut into small pieces and then Mix it with the paste of green chilies and pudina, black salt, sugar and crushed sesame seeds.
Give smoky flavour with the help of coal,called dhuni in local language.
It tastes best on a sunny day in the winter season.

Jammu Division
Jammu /ˈdʒɑːmuː/ is one of the three administrative divisions within Jammu and Kashmir, the northernmost state in India. It consists of the districts of Doda, Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Samba, Kishtwar and Poonch. Most of the land is hilly or mountainous, including the Pir Panjal Range which separates it from the Kashmir Valley and part of the Great Himalayas in the eastern districts of Doda and Kishtwar. Its principal river is the Chenab. Chenab Valley is another important division in Jammu region.
Jammu city is the largest city in Jammu and the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as "City of Temples" as it has many temples and shrines, with glittering shikhars soaring into the sky, which dot the city’s skyline, creating the ambiance of a holy and peaceful Hindu city.
Home to some of India's most popular Hindu shrines, such as Vaishno Devi, Jammu is a major pilgrimage centre for Hindus. The majority of Jammu's population practices Hinduism, while Islam and Sikhism enjoy a strong cultural heritage in the region. Due to relatively better infrastructure, Jammu has emerged as the main economic center of the state.

Jammu
Jammu 
pronunciation is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated on the banks of Tawi river. It is administered by a municipal corporation.
Geography
Jammu is located at 32°44′N 74°52′E / 32.73°N 74.87°E / 32.73; 74.87. It has an average elevation of 327 m (1,073 ft). Jammu city lies at uneven ridges of low heights at the Shivalik hills. It is surrounded by Shivalik range to the north, east and southeast while the Trikuta Range surrounds it in the north-west. It is approximately 600 kilometres (370 mi) from the national capital, New Delhi.
The city spreads around the Tawi river with the old city overlooking it from the north (right bank) while the new neighbourhoods spread around the southern side (left bank) of river. There are five bridges on the river. The city is built on a series of ridges.
Etymology
The name Jammu is derived from its ruler who founded it. Raja Jambulochan founded this city and named it Jambupur which later changed to Jammu. Many historians and locals believe that Jammu was founded by Raja Jambu Lochan in the 14th century BC. During one of his hunting campaigns, he reached the Tawi River where he saw a goat and a lion drinking water at the same place. Having satisfied their thirst, the animals went their own ways. The Raja was amazed, abandoned the idea of hunting and returned to his companions. Recounting what he had seen, he exclaimed that this place, where a lion and a goat could drink water side by side, was a place of peace and tranquility. The Raja commanded that a palace be built at this place and a city was founded around it. This city became known as Jambu-Nagar, which then later changed into Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu and Kashmir (
i/ˈdʒæmuː ənd ˌkæʃˈmɪər, ˈdʒʌ-, ˈkæʃmɪər/) is a state in northern India. It is located mostly in the Himalayan mountains, and shares a border with the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the south. Jammu and Kashmir has an international border with China in the north and east, and the Line of Control separates it from the Pakistan-controlled territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the west and northwest respectively. The state has special autonomy under Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
A part of the erstwhile Princely State of Kashmir and Jammu, the region is the subject of a territorial conflict among China, India and Pakistan. The western districts of the former princely state known as Azad Kashmir and the northern territories known as Gilgit-Baltistan have been under Pakistani control since 1947. The Aksai Chin region in the east, bordering Tibet, has been under Chinese control since 1962.
Jammu and Kashmir consists of three regions: Jammu, the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh. Srinagar is the summer capital, and Jammu is the winter capital. The Kashmir valley is famous for its beautiful mountainous landscape, and Jammu's numerous shrines attract tens of thousands of Hindu pilgrims every year. Ladakh, also known as "Little Tibet", is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and Buddhist culture.

STORYLINE
Various groups of protesters took to the streets in Indian-administered Kashmir on Monday as a curfew continued in many towns following a fourth day of sporadic clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
Police said the death toll in the violence that erupted during Muslim Eid holiday celebrations on Friday rose to three.
Authorities imposed curfews in seven towns in the Indian portion of Kashmir on Sunday, including Kishtwar, the town where Friday's clashes took place.
The town is 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-administered Kashmir.
In Srinagar on Monday, a group of lawyers chanted slogans to demand restoration of peace between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
They were stopped by police from marching towards the centre of the city.
Meanwhile, activists from Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Khawateen Markaz women's group demanded that the government provide adequate protection for the Muslim community in the Jammu region.
"This protest is against the attack on Muslim worshippers at Doda during Eid prayers. These rioters are backed by political parties like BJP (main opposition Bhartiya Janata Party) and Shiv Sena (a Hindu right-wing political party). The army is also on their side," said the chairperson of the group, Yasmeen Raja.
"We won't allow what BJP did in Gujarat to be repeated in Jammu," Raja said, referring to the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat state where over a thousand people, mostly Muslims, died.
Another group of protesters from the separatist Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) also gathered in Srinagar and chanted anti-India slogans, to express their solidarity with the Jammu Muslims.
The trouble in Kishtwar had erupted on Friday after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting pro-independence slogans during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
Indian authorities ordered an inquiry into the rioting and replaced the local police chief and the top civil administrator as part of their efforts to restore peace in the town.
Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989.
More than 68,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed.

Kashmir division is one of the three administrative divisions of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmir division borders Jammu Division to the south and Ladakh to the east while Line of Control forms its northern and the western border. The division consists of the following districts: Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipore, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Srinagar.
Kashmir Valley has a moderate climate, which is largely defined by its geographic location, with the towering Karakoram Range in the north, Pir Panjal Range in the south and west and Zanskar Range in the east.[8] It can be generally described as cool in the spring and autumn, mild in the summer and cold in the winter. As a large valley with significant differences in geo-location among various districts, the weather is often cooler in the hilly areas compared to the flat lower part.
Summer is usually mild and fairly dry, but relative humidity is generally high and the nights are cool. The precipitation occurs throughout the year and no month is particularly dry. The hottest month is July (mean minimum temperature 6 °C, mean maximum temperature 32 °C) and the coldest are December–January (mean minimum temperature −15 °C, mean maximum temperature 0 °C).
Compared with other plain parts of India, Kashmir valley enjoys a more moderate climate but weather conditions are unpredictable. The recorded high temperature is 33 °C and the recorded low is −18 °C. On 5 and 6 January 2012, after years of relatively little snow, a wave of heavy snow and low temperatures (winter storm) shocked the valley covering it in a thick layer of snow and ice.
Kashmir Valley has seen an increase in relative humidity and annual precipitation in the last few years. This is most likely because of the commercial afforestation projects which also include expanding parks and green cover.
Kashmir valley is a popular tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Among the popular tourist places in the valley are Gulmarg that has a ski resort, Dal Lake that has popular house boats, Pahalgam and the major Hindu shrine Amarnath Temple.
Before insurgency intensified in 1989, tourism formed an important part of the Kashmiri economy. As a result, the tourism economy in the Kashmir valley was worst hit. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit holy shrine of Amarnath every year and this significantly benefits the state's economy. But this yatra has put Kashmir on the verge of ecological disaster.
Tourism in the Kashmir valley has rebounded in recent years and in 2009, the state became one of the top tourist destinations of India.[11] Gulmarg, one of the most popular ski resort destinations in India, is also home to the world's highest green golf course.[12] However, with the decrease in violence in the state has boosted the states economy specifically tourism.[13] It was reported that 736,000 tourists including 23,000 foreigners visited Kashmir in 2010. Other tourist places include Sonamarg, Kokernag, Verinag, Aharbal and Semthan-Top.

The valley is bounded on the southwest by the Pir Panjal Range and on the northeast by the main Himalayas range. It is approximately 135 km long and 32 km wide, and is drained by the Jhelum River.
Kashmir division is one of the three administrative divisions of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Kashmir division borders Jammu Division to the south and Ladakh to the east while Line of Control forms its northern and the western border. The division consists of the following districts: Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam, Bandipore, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Srinagar.
Kashmir Valley has a moderate climate, which is largely defined by its geographic location, with the towering Karakoram Range in the north, Pir Panjal Range in the south and west and Zanskar Range in the east.[8] It can be generally described as cool in the spring and autumn, mild in the summer and cold in the winter. As a large valley with significant differences in geo-location among various districts, the weather is often cooler in the hilly areas compared to the flat lower part.
Summer is usually mild and fairly dry, but relative humidity is generally high and the nights are cool. The precipitation occurs throughout the year and no month is particularly dry. The hottest month is July (mean minimum temperature 6 °C, mean maximum temperature 32 °C) and the coldest are December–January (mean minimum temperature −15 °C, mean maximum temperature 0 °C).
Compared with other plain parts of India, Kashmir valley enjoys a more moderate climate but weather conditions are unpredictable. The recorded high temperature is 33 °C and the recorded low is −18 °C. On 5 and 6 January 2012, after years of relatively little snow, a wave of heavy snow and low temperatures (winter storm) shocked the valley covering it in a thick layer of snow and ice.
Kashmir Valley has seen an increase in relative humidity and annual precipitation in the last few years. This is most likely because of the commercial afforestation projects which also include expanding parks and green cover.
Kashmir valley is a popular tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Among the popular tourist places in the valley are Gulmarg that has a ski resort, Dal Lake that has popular house boats, Pahalgam and the major Hindu shrine Amarnath Temple.
Before insurgency intensified in 1989, tourism formed an important part of the Kashmiri economy. As a result, the tourism economy in the Kashmir valley was worst hit. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit holy shrine of Amarnath every year and this significantly benefits the state's economy. But this yatra has put Kashmir on the verge of ecological disaster.
Tourism in the Kashmir valley has rebounded in recent years and in 2009, the state became one of the top tourist destinations of India.[11] Gulmarg, one of the most popular ski resort destinations in India, is also home to the world's highest green golf course.[12] However, with the decrease in violence in the state has boosted the states economy specifically tourism.[13] It was reported that 736,000 tourists including 23,000 foreigners visited Kashmir in 2010. Other tourist places include Sonamarg, Kokernag, Verinag, Aharbal and Semthan-Top.

Amarnath cave is a Hindu shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is dedicated to Shiva. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Inside the 40 m high Amarnath cave, the stalagmite is formed due to freezing of water drops that fall from the roof of the cave on to the floor and grows up vertically from the cave floor. It is considered to be a Shiva Linga by Hindus. The Cave waxes during May to August, as snow melts in the Himalayas above the cave and the resultant water seeps into the rocks that form the cave and gradually wanes thereafter. As per the religious beliefs, it has been claimed that the lingam grows and shrinks with the phases of the moon reaching its height during the summer festival, although there is no scientific evidence for this belief.
According to a Hindu legend, this is the cave where Shiva explained the secret of life and eternity to his divine consort, Parvati.Two other ice formations represent Parvati and Shiva's son, Ganesha.
The Amarnath cave has been a place of worship since times immemorial. There are references to the legendary king Aryaraja (ascribed dates 300 BCE) who used to worship a lingam formed of ice in Kashmir.

STORYLINE
Various groups of protesters took to the streets in Indian-administered Kashmir on Monday as a curfew continued in many towns following a fourth day of sporadic clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
Police said the death toll in the violence that erupted during Muslim Eid holiday celebrations on Friday rose to three.
Authorities imposed curfews in seven towns in the Indian portion of Kashmir on Sunday, including Kishtwar, the town where Friday's clashes took place.
The town is 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-administered Kashmir.
In Srinagar on Monday, a group of lawyers chanted slogans to demand restoration of peace between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
They were stopped by police from marching towards the centre of the city.
Meanwhile, activists from Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Khawateen Markaz women's group demanded that the government provide adequate protection for the Muslim community in the Jammu region.
"This protest is against the attack on Muslim worshippers at Doda during Eid prayers. These rioters are backed by political parties like BJP (main opposition Bhartiya Janata Party) and Shiv Sena (a Hindu right-wing political party). The army is also on their side," said the chairperson of the group, Yasmeen Raja.
"We won't allow what BJP did in Gujarat to be repeated in Jammu," Raja said, referring to the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat state where over a thousand people, mostly Muslims, died.
Another group of protesters from the separatist Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) also gathered in Srinagar and chanted anti-India slogans, to express their solidarity with the Jammu Muslims.
The trouble in Kishtwar had erupted on Friday after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting pro-independence slogans during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
Indian authorities ordered an inquiry into the rioting and replaced the local police chief and the top civil administrator as part of their efforts to restore peace in the town.
Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989.
More than 68,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed.

Various groups of protesters took to the streets in Indian-administered Kashmir on Monday as a curfew continued in many towns following a fourth day of sporadic clashes between Hindus and Muslims.
Police said the death toll in the violence that erupted during Muslim Eid holiday celebrations on Friday rose to three.
Authorities imposed curfews in seven towns in the Indian portion of Kashmir on Sunday, including Kishtwar, the town where Friday's clashes took place.
The town is 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of Srinagar, the main city in Indian-administered Kashmir.
In Srinagar on Monday, a group of lawyers chanted slogans to demand restoration of peace between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
They were stopped by police from marching towards the centre of the city.
Meanwhile, activists from Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Khawateen Markaz women's group demanded that the government provide adequate protection for the Muslim community in the Jammu region.
"This protest is against the attack on Muslim worshippers at Doda during Eid prayers. These rioters are backed by political parties like BJP (main opposition Bhartiya Janata Party) and Shiv Sena (a Hindu right-wing political party). The army is also on their side," said the chairperson of the group, Yasmeen Raja.
"We won't allow what BJP did in Gujarat to be repeated in Jammu," Raja said, referring to the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat state where over a thousand people, mostly Muslims, died.
Another group of protesters from the separatist Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) also gathered in Srinagar and chanted anti-India slogans, to express their solidarity with the Jammu Muslims.
The trouble in Kishtwar had erupted on Friday after Hindus objected to Muslims shouting pro-independence slogans during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
Indian authorities ordered an inquiry into the rioting and replaced the local police chief and the top civil administrator as part of their efforts to restore peace in the town.
Anti-India feelings run deep in Kashmir, where about a dozen rebel groups have been fighting against Indian rule since 1989.
More than 68,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed.

Basically,Kimb is a fruit belongs to citrus family grown in jammu and himachal region of india
Preparation
Peel off the skin and then squeeze out its juice And then Cut into small pieces and then Mix it with the paste of green chilies and pudina, black salt, sugar and crushed sesame seeds.
Give smoky flavour with the help of coal,called dhuni in local language.
It tastes best on a sunny day in the winter season.
