Action Item #1: Put Yourself In Your Customer's Shoes
As entrepreneurs we can easily get lost in our product or service and how great it is. We can't wait to launch the next version or introduce a new feature. The trouble is, we're often creating for ourselves and are not focused enough on if our customer will actually want this new product or service.
Simon Fuller is a master at putting himself in his customer's shoes. When he came across a pop group called "Spice" he recognized that their market was limited - young girls traditionally only buy music from male singers as they are threatened by the women. To fix this problem he changed the name to "Spice Girls" and launched their "girl power" theme which made young girls want to buy their music just as much as the boys.
Fuller took five young women, turned them into superstars and the best selling girl group of all time with over 75 million records sold by putting himself in his customer's shoes. Think about your product or service. Are you really solving a need for your customers that nobody else is offering? Put yourself in your customer's shoes so you can knock their socks off with your next product launch!
Action Item #2: Know What You're Good At
Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. The trouble is as entrepreneurs, we tend to try to do everything even though we're only good at a few things. If you focus your attention and build your business around what you're really good at you'll have a much higher chance of success (and also have a lot more fun!)
Simon Fuller's strength is promoting someone or something while it's popular and then dropping it to move on to the next hot trend. No matter how great the artist he is working on promoting today seems to be, he always has another one waiting in the wings to go. When the Spice Girls dumped him as manager, he immediately began to promote S Club 7. After S Club 7 split, he was ready with S Club Juniors. In his own words: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it to the finest detail." And that is the beauty of his Pop Idol / American Idol franchise -- it doesn't matter how much real talent or staying power the winners have, because audiences will quickly move on to listening to next season's contestants.
Fuller built a business that complements what he's best at. The business model works for him instead of the other way around. Think about your own business for a second. Do you have to do things you hate and aren't good at like cold calling to bring in clients? You'll see a huge jump in your business if you can make the business model work for you and focus your energies on what you're really good at.
Action Item #3: Paint a Vision for Your Customers
If you're trying to sell something new or have a difficult sales process you should consider giving your customer a vision of their future as a part of your pitch. Show your customers what their lives will look like if they work with you - let them imagine the benefits that you can offer and convince them on an emotional level that they should become your client.
When Simon Fuller wanted to expand his reach into managing celebrities he went after one of the biggest names in the world: soccer superstar David Beckham. Fuller sold Beckham by pampering him at Elton John's mansion and then giving him a six day vacation in Provence, France. Fuller painted a beautiful picture of what it would be like working him and Beckham couldn't resist - he signed up for Fuller's services.
Ok so you don't know Elton John and can't afford to fly your clients to France but you can do the same thing on a smaller scale. Think about how you can show your prospects that working with you will lead them to a better life. Don't ignore the emotional part of the sale and focus only on tangible facts.

'American Idol' creator Simon Fuller recently gave an interview with The Hollywood Reporter stating the future of the show and its reportedly definite return. He stated, "There are loads of ideas being shared and I’m deep in thought about how we can evolve Idol. We debuted at the very beginning of the digital world. So the next generation of Idol will be a lot more interactive, a lot more immersive. For me the most exciting thing is we can really now dive deep with all the new technology that’s coming. My head is exploding with opportunities. The next generation of Idol -- and Idol will certainly be coming back for sure -- will have a youthful glow and it will be pioneering again, just as it was when we first began."

Well I think it's safe to say things are exactly peachy keen between Simon Cowell and American Idol creator Simon Fuller. Last month, Fuller filed a lawsuit against Fox and producer Fremantle claiming he's owed an executive producer credit and millions of dollars in fees from the Cowell-produced "X Factor.
And in a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Simon Cowell says it's pretty much preposterous, saying, "It's like me saying I want to be executive producer on 'The Voice' or 'Project Runway'." Cowell added, "I'm surprised this has happened."Because you can't give someone an executive producer's title if they didn't executive produce the show." Well, we'll have to wait and see what happens here, but one things for sure, no legal drama is gonna mess with the premiere of X Factor, which is officially now less than a month away on September 20th! Simon Fuller
Simon Fuller (born 17 May 1960) is an English entrepreneur, artist manager and television producer. He is best known for being the creator of the Idol franchise, which was first seen in the UK under the name Pop Idol, and includes American Idol in the U.S. Fuller is the executive producer of many other hit shows including the Fox TV reality shows So You Think You Can Dance and Q'Viva.
Fuller came to significance through managing pop group the Spice Girls. Fuller received the 2,441st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on 23 May 2011. The 2014 Sunday Times Rich List values Fuller at £375m; the sixth richest music millionaire in Britain. American Idol
American Idol is an American singing competition series created by Simon Fuller and produced by 19 Entertainment, and is distributed by FremantleMedia North America. It began airing on Fox on June 11, 2002, as an addition to the Idols format based on the British series Pop Idol and has since become one of the most successful shows in the history of American television. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists, with the winner being determined by the viewers in America. Winners chosen by viewers through telephone, Internet, and SMS text voting were Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, Caleb Johnson, and Nick Fradiani.
American Idol employs a panel of judges who critique the contestants' performances. The original judges were record producer and music manager Randy Jackson, pop singer and choreographer Paula Abdul and music executive and manager Simon Cowell. The judging panel for the most recent season consisted of country singer Keith Urban, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, and jazz singer Harry Connick, Jr. The show was originally hosted by radio personality Ryan Seacrest and comedian Brian Dunkleman, with Seacrest continuing on for the rest of the seasons.

Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (/ˈkaʊəl/; born 7 October 1959) is an English television talent judge and mentor, music and television producer, music talent scout (aka A&R executive) and entrepreneur. David Beckham
David Robert Joseph Beckham, OBE (/ˈbɛkəm/; born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain, and the England national team for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player. Action Item #1: Put Yourself In Your Customer's Shoes
As entrepreneurs we can easily get lost in our product or service and how great it is. We can't wait to launch the next version or introduce a new feature. The trouble is, we're often creating for ourselves and are not focused enough on if our customer will actually want this new product or service.
Simon Fuller is a master at putting himself in his customer's shoes. When he came across a pop group called "Spice" he recognized that their market was limited - young girls traditionally only buy music from male singers as they are threatened by the women. To fix this problem he changed the name to "Spice Girls" and launched their "girl power" theme which made young girls want to buy their music just as much as the boys.
Fuller took five young women, turned them into superstars and the best selling girl group of all time with over 75 million records sold by putting himself in his customer's shoes. Think about your product or service. Are you really solving a need for your customers that nobody else is offering? Put yourself in your customer's shoes so you can knock their socks off with your next product launch!
Action Item #2: Know What You're Good At
Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. The trouble is as entrepreneurs, we tend to try to do everything even though we're only good at a few things. If you focus your attention and build your business around what you're really good at you'll have a much higher chance of success (and also have a lot more fun!)
Simon Fuller's strength is promoting someone or something while it's popular and then dropping it to move on to the next hot trend. No matter how great the artist he is working on promoting today seems to be, he always has another one waiting in the wings to go. When the Spice Girls dumped him as manager, he immediately began to promote S Club 7. After S Club 7 split, he was ready with S Club Juniors. In his own words: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it to the finest detail." And that is the beauty of his Pop Idol / American Idol franchise -- it doesn't matter how much real talent or staying power the winners have, because audiences will quickly move on to listening to next season's contestants.
Fuller built a business that complements what he's best at. The business model works for him instead of the other way around. Think about your own business for a second. Do you have to do things you hate and aren't good at like cold calling to bring in clients? You'll see a huge jump in your business if you can make the business model work for you and focus your energies on what you're really good at.

If you're trying to sell something new or have a difficult sales process you should consider giving your customer a vision of their future as a part of your pitch. Show your customers what their lives will look like if they work with you - let them imagine the benefits that you can offer and convince them on an emotional level that they should become your client.
When Simon Fuller wanted to expand his reach into managing celebrities he went after one of the biggest names in the world: soccer superstar David Beckham. Fuller sold Beckham by pampering him at Elton John's mansion and then giving him a six day vacation in Provence, France. Fuller painted a beautiful picture of what it would be like working him and Beckham couldn't resist - he signed up for Fuller's services.
Ok so you don't know Elton John and can't afford to fly your clients to France but you can do the same thing on a smaller scale. Think about how you can show your prospects that working with you will lead them to a better life. Don't ignore the emotional part of the sale and focus only on tangible facts.

When he came across a pop group called "Spice" he recognized that their market was limited - young girls traditionally only buy music from male singers as they are threatened by the women. To fix this problem he changed the name to "Spice Girls" and launched their "girl power" theme which made young girls want to buy their music just as much as the boys.
Fuller took five young women, turned them into superstars and the best selling girl group of all time with over 75 million records sold by putting himself in his customer's shoes. Think about your product or service. Are you really solving a need for your customers that nobody else is offering? Put yourself in your customer's shoes so you can knock their socks off with your next product launch!
Action Item #2: Know What You're Good At
Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. The trouble is as entrepreneurs, we tend to try to do everything even though we're only good at a few things. If you focus your attention and build your business around what you're really good at you'll have a much higher chance of success (and also have a lot more fun!)
Simon Fuller's strength is promoting someone or something while it's popular and then dropping it to move on to the next hot trend. No matter how great the artist he is working on promoting today seems to be, he always has another one waiting in the wings to go. When the Spice Girls dumped him as manager, he immediately began to promote S Club 7. After S Club 7 split, he was ready with S Club Juniors. In his own words: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it to the finest detail." And that is the beauty of his Pop Idol / American Idol franchise -- it doesn't matter how much real talent or staying power the winners have, because audiences will quickly move on to listening to next season's contestants.
Fuller built a business that complements what he's best at. The business model works for him instead of the other way around. Think about your own business for a second. Do you have to do things you hate and aren't good at like cold calling to bring in clients? You'll see a huge jump in your business if you can make the business model work for you and focus your energies on what you're really good at.
Action Item #3: Paint a Vision for Your Customers
If you're trying to sell something new or have a difficult sales process you should consider giving your customer a vision of their future as a part of your pitch. Show your customers what their lives will look like if they work with you - let them imagine the benefits that you can offer and convince them on an emotional level that they should become your client.
When Simon Fuller wanted to expand his reach into managing celebrities he went after one of the biggest names in the world: soccer superstar David Beckham. Fuller sold Beckham by pampering him at Elton John's mansion and then giving him a six day vacation in Provence, France. Fuller painted a beautiful picture of what it would be like working him and Beckham couldn't resist - he signed up for Fuller's services.
Ok so you don't know Elton John and can't afford to fly your clients to France but you can do the same thing on a smaller scale. Think about how you can show your prospects that working with you will lead them to a better life. Don't ignore the emotional part of the sale and focus only on tangible facts.

Not only is it a competition between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it's also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate the competition and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to America to decide who ultimately has THE X FACTOR.

Fuller later filed another lawsuit in 2011, claiming that he had also been promised that he would be credited as an executive producer of The X Factor USA, but that Syco, FremantleMedia, and Fox Broadcasting Company had failed to fulfill that promise; that lawsuit is pending.
Unlike Idol, where the judges only critique the contestants' performances, on The X Factor each judge ""mentors"" the finalists in a particular category, aiding them with song selection and styling, while also participating together in judging the contestants in the other categories. As well as Idol, new singing shows The Voice and Rising Star have become rival shows to The X Factor.

Action Item #1: Put Yourself In Your Customer's Shoes
As entrepreneurs we can easily get lost in our product or service and how great it is. We can't wait to launch the next version or introduce a new feature. The trouble is, we're often creating for ourselves and are not focused enough on if our customer will actually want this new product or service.
Simon Fuller is a master at putting himself in his customer's shoes. When he came across a pop group called "Spice" he recognized that their market was limited - young girls traditionally only buy music from male singers as they are threatened by the women. To fix this problem he changed the name to "Spice Girls" and launched their "girl power" theme which made young girls want to buy their music just as much as the boys.
Fuller took five young women, turned them into superstars and the best selling girl group of all time with over 75 million records sold by putting himself in his customer's shoes. Think about your product or service. Are you really solving a need for your customers that nobody else is offering? Put yourself in your customer's shoes so you can knock their socks off with your next product launch!
Action Item #2: Know What You're Good At
Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. The trouble is as entrepreneurs, we tend to try to do everything even though we're only good at a few things. If you focus your attention and build your business around what you're really good at you'll have a much higher chance of success (and also have a lot more fun!)
Simon Fuller's strength is promoting someone or something while it's popular and then dropping it to move on to the next hot trend. No matter how great the artist he is working on promoting today seems to be, he always has another one waiting in the wings to go. When the Spice Girls dumped him as manager, he immediately began to promote S Club 7. After S Club 7 split, he was ready with S Club Juniors. In his own words: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it to the finest detail." And that is the beauty of his Pop Idol / American Idol franchise -- it doesn't matter how much real talent or staying power the winners have, because audiences will quickly move on to listening to next season's contestants.
Fuller built a business that complements what he's best at. The business model works for him instead of the other way around. Think about your own business for a second. Do you have to do things you hate and aren't good at like cold calling to bring in clients? You'll see a huge jump in your business if you can make the business model work for you and focus your energies on what you're really good at.
Action Item #3: Paint a Vision for Your Customers
If you're trying to sell something new or have a difficult sales process you should consider giving your customer a vision of their future as a part of your pitch. Show your customers what their lives will look like if they work with you - let them imagine the benefits that you can offer and convince them on an emotional level that they should become your client.
When Simon Fuller wanted to expand his reach into managing celebrities he went after one of the biggest names in the world: soccer superstar David Beckham. Fuller sold Beckham by pampering him at Elton John's mansion and then giving him a six day vacation in Provence, France. Fuller painted a beautiful picture of what it would be like working him and Beckham couldn't resist - he signed up for Fuller's services.
Ok so you don't know Elton John and can't afford to fly your clients to France but you can do the same thing on a smaller scale. Think about how you can show your prospects that working with you will lead them to a better life. Don't ignore the emotional part of the sale and focus only on tangible facts.

'American Idol' creator Simon Fuller recently gave an interview with The Hollywood Reporter stating the future of the show and its reportedly definite return. He stated, "There are loads of ideas being shared and I’m deep in thought about how we can evolve Idol. We debuted at the very beginning of the digital world. So the next generation of Idol will be a lot more interactive, a lot more immersive. For me the most exciting thing is we can really now dive deep with all the new technology that’s coming. Action Item #1: Put Yourself In Your Customer's Shoes
As entrepreneurs we can easily get lost in our product or service and how great it is. We can't wait to launch the next version or introduce a new feature. The trouble is, we're often creating for ourselves and are not focused enough on if our customer will actually want this new product or service.
Simon Fuller is a master at putting himself in his customer's shoes. When he came across a pop group called "Spice" he recognized that their market was limited - young girls traditionally only buy music from male singers as they are threatened by the women. To fix this problem he changed the name to "Spice Girls" and launched their "girl power" theme which made young girls want to buy their music just as much as the boys.
Fuller took five young women, turned them into superstars and the best selling girl group of all time with over 75 million records sold by putting himself in his customer's shoes. Think about your product or service. Are you really solving a need for your customers that nobody else is offering? Put yourself in your customer's shoes so you can knock their socks off with your next product launch!
Action Item #2: Know What You're Good At
Everybody has strengths and weaknesses. The trouble is as entrepreneurs, we tend to try to do everything even though we're only good at a few things. If you focus your attention and build your business around what you're really good at you'll have a much higher chance of success (and also have a lot more fun!)
Simon Fuller's strength is promoting someone or something while it's popular and then dropping it to move on to the next hot trend. No matter how great the artist he is working on promoting today seems to be, he always has another one waiting in the wings to go. When the Spice Girls dumped him as manager, he immediately began to promote S Club 7. After S Club 7 split, he was ready with S Club Juniors. In his own words: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it to the finest detail." And that is the beauty of his Pop Idol / American Idol franchise -- it doesn't matter how much real talent or staying power the winners have, because audiences will quickly move on to listening to next season's contestants.
Fuller built a business that complements what he's best at. The business model works for him instead of the other way around. Think about your own business for a second. Do you have to do things you hate and aren't good at like cold calling to bring in clients? You'll see a huge jump in your business if you can make the business model work for you and focus your energies on what you're really good at.

If you're trying to sell something new or have a difficult sales process you should consider giving your customer a vision of their future as a part of your pitch. Show your customers what their lives will look like if they work with you - let them imagine the benefits that you can offer and convince them on an emotional level that they should become your client.
When Simon Fuller wanted to expand his reach into managing celebrities he went after one of the biggest names in the world: soccer superstar David Beckham. Fuller sold Beckham by pampering him at Elton John's mansion and then giving him a six day vacation in Provence, France. Fuller painted a beautiful picture of what it would be like working him and Beckham couldn't resist - he signed up for Fuller's services.
Ok so you don't know Elton John and can't afford to fly your clients to France but you can do the same thing on a smaller scale. Think about how you can show your prospects that working with you will lead them to a better life. Don't ignore the emotional part of the sale and focus only on tangible facts.
