Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.

In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. But, as the books stop selling and money grows short, Travers reluctantly agrees to go to Los Angeles to hear Disney's plans for the adaptation. For those two short weeks in 1961, Walt Disney pulls out all the stops. Armed with imaginative storyboards and chirpy songs from the talented Sherman brothers, Walt launches an all-out onslaught on P.L. Travers, but the prickly author doesn't budge. He soon begins to watch helplessly as Travers becomes increasingly immovable and the rights begin to move further away from his grasp. It is only when he reaches into his own childhood that Walt discovers the truth about the ghosts that haunt her, and together they set Mary Poppins free to ultimately make one of the most endearing films in cinematic history.

PanicProgram@PostPanic director Erwin van den IJssel was asked by DisneyXD Netherlands to create a series of channel idents to promote the Dutch channel's summer theme of 'Chain Reactions'. Erwin decided to build story-based chain reactions which were crafted entirely out of objects kids could find at home. The joy he wanted to capture was that of being able to build things that your parents would raise their eyebrows at (hence the flying squeezy-bottle heron and exploding sports-field). The heros of the idents are the kids themselves - cut out of snapshot photos and placed on cardboard figures. Disney XD also specified that the idents must have a Dutch 'feel' so objects were carefully made from subtely recognisable materials and products, such as the various food tins and bottles, chip b...

These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney's desire to use animation to express character and personality. Growing up in Anaheim, CA just a few hundred yards from Disneyland, we grew up in the metaphorical Shadow of Walt Disney. Attending Disney elementary school, going on Walt-related field trips and assemblies, and completing projects and book reports on the man himself, I learned a lot about his hometown and how it influenced his work. Everything from Main Street USA to "So dear to my heart," his love of trains and railroading, and even his love of Drawing all began here. Years ago, I visited Marceline Missouri for the first time and was blown away by the museum in town. This was a quick, "hey we have a little time we might be able to get there 30 minutes before the museum closes" trip, but we made it! And WOW how the museum has changed since the first time I saw it!

Take an exclusive tour of the Walt Disney Studios located in Burbank, CA hosted by Gil Gagnon, VP of Post Production Services. The Walt Disney Studios Post Production Services has a rich history in Dubbing dating back to the early 1940's when Fantasia was mixed in the Main Theatre. Fantasia went on to win several technical achievement awards from the Academy as it was one of the first to mix in "Stereo" and it actually incorporated an early form of surround sound termed "Fantasound". The Sound Editorial department is staffed by a talented crew including two-time Oscar-winner George Watter II along with Robert Sephton, and Thomas de Gorter. The facilities include Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstations and 5.1 sound design rooms that are truly state-of-the-art. In addition, this world class ...
The 12 basic principles of animation were developed by the 'old men' of Walt Disney Studios, amongst them Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, during the 1930s. Of course they weren't old men at the time, but young men who were at the forefront of exciting discoveries that were contributing to the development of a new art form. These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney's desire to use animation to express character and personality. This movie is my personal take on those principles, applied to simple shapes. Like a cube. Check also the animated gif gallery here http://the12principles.tumblr.com/.

It's cold outside
Seven months of suicide
I've been in suspended animation
Just like Walt Disney
My only love
Asked for me to wait out there
I waited
Waited but she didn't care
Just like Walt Disney
I'm just thawing out
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Ring, ring, ring
Now I hear the phone singing
Calling me
Telling me to start freezing
Just like Walt Disney, yeah
I'm a block of ice
My fingertips and toes are frozen to the bone
Give me an hour before you throw me in the cold
Give me an hour before you pick me up and throw me 'cross the sea
