Anurag Kashyap
Anurag Singh Kashyap (born 10 September 1972) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is often regarded as the face of an emerging new wave cinema for producing numerous independent films with newcomers. For his contributions to film, the Government of France awarded him the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) in 2013.
After writing a television serial, Kashyap got his major break as a co-writer in Ram Gopal Varma's crime drama Satya (1998), and made his directorial debut with Paanch, which never had a theatrical release due to censorship issues. He then went on to direct Black Friday (2007), a film based on the book by Hussain Zaidi about the 1993 Bombay bombings. Its release was held up for two years by the Central Board of Film Certification because of the pending verdict of the case at that time, but was released in 2007 to widespread critical appreciation. Kashyap's followup, No Smoking (2007) met with negative reviews and performed poorly at the box-office. His next venture Dev.D (2009), a modern adaptation of Devdas was a critical and commercial success; followed by the political drama Gulaal (2009), and the thriller That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011). His prominence increased with the two-part crime drama, Gangs of Wasseypur (2012). His next films were Bombay Talkies (2013), Ugly (2014) and Bombay Velvet (2015).

Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui (born 19 May 1974) is an Indian film actor who works in Hindi cinema. After a period of unnoticed performances in his early career, he received the Special Jury Award at the 2012 National Film Awards.
Early life
Siddiqui was born on 19 May 1974 in Budhana, a small town and tehsil in Muzaffarnagar district of the Western Uttar Pradesh State (Harit Pradesh) of India, into a zamindari Muslim family of Numberdars. He was the eldest of his eight siblings. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar. Following this, he worked as a chemist in Vadodara for a year, before leaving for Delhi in search for a new job. Once in Delhi, he was instantly drawn into acting after watching a play, and in pursuit to secure admission at National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi, he acted in over ten plays with a group of friends, to fulfill one of the criteria for admission.
Career
Siddiqui went to the National School of Drama, New Delhi. After graduating from NSD, he moved to Mumbai. In 2004, which was one of the worst years of his struggle, he couldn’t pay any rent. He asked an NSD senior if he could stay with him. The senior allowed him to share his apartment in Goregaon if he was willing to cook meals for him. Nawazuddin made his Bollywood debut in 1999, with a small role in Aamir Khan starrer, Sarfarosh. After that, he hung out at film studios and shootings but only got stereotypical roles. He shared screen along with Sunil Dutt and Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai MBBS in the opening scenes where he tries to pick the pocket of Sunil Dutt. After moving to Mumbai he tried to get work in television serials, but did not achieve much success. He did a short film The Bypass in 2003, where he appeared with actor, Irrfan Khan. Beyond that between 2002–05, he was largely out of work, and lived in a flat he shared with four other people, and survived by conducting occasional acting workshops.

Kashyap was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where his father worked for the state electricity board. He grew up in several cities, including Varanasi, Saharanpur, Gorakhpur and Obra. He did his early schooling in Dehradun and, age eight onwards, at the Scindia School in Gwalior.
He was fascinated with films right from childhood. Even at age five, he would watch Hindi films like Kora Kagaz and Aandhi at a nearby club and open-air theater which he had to give with the start of schooling. Due to Kashyap's desire to become a scientist, he went to Delhi for his higher studies and enrolled himself into a zoology course at Hansraj College (Delhi University) graduating in 1993. During his college days, he started watching films again and also got involved with drugs and alcohol. He was confused and depressed and had joined a street theater group, Jana Natya Manch and ended up doing a lot of street plays. The same year, friends introduced him to world cinema and urged him to catch a "de Sica retrospective" at the International Film Festival of India. In ten days, Kashyap saw 55 films at the festival, and de Sica's Bicycle Thieves was the film that influenced him the most. Kashyap recollects "in a way you can say that these films changed my life and it's meaning completely for me. Just that one film festival and I decided that this is what I want to be a part of — in next five months I was in Mumbai".

He made his directorial debut with as yet unreleased Paanch, He is known for his films like Black Friday (2004), No Smoking (2007), Dev D (2009), Gulaal (2009), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011) and Gangs of Wasseypur - I & II (2012). As a screenwriter, he wrote the scripts for Satya (1998) and Canadian film Water (2005)..
Kashyap was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where his father worked for the state electricity board. He grew up in several cities, including Varanasi, Saharanpur, Gorakhpur and Obra. He did his early schooling in Dehradun and, age eight onwards, at the Scindia School in Gwalior.
He was fascinated with films right from childhood. Even at age five, he would watch Hindi films like Kora Kagaz and Aandhi at a nearby club and open-air theater which he had to give with the start of schooling. Due to Kashyap's desire to become a scientist, he went to Delhi for his higher studies and enrolled himself into a zoology course at Hansraj College (Delhi University) graduating in 1993. During his college days, he started watching films again and also got involved with drugs and alcohol. He was confused and depressed and had joined a street theater group, Jana Natya Manch and ended up doing a lot of street plays. The same year, friends introduced him to world cinema and urged him to catch a "de Sica retrospective" at the International Film Festival of India. In ten days, Kashyap saw 55 films at the festival, and de Sica's Bicycle Thieves was the film that influenced him the most. Kashyap recollects "in a way you can say that these films changed my life and it's meaning completely for me. Just that one film festival and I decided that this is what I want to be a part of — in next five months I was in Mumbai".

He made his directorial debut with as yet unreleased Paanch, He is known for his films like Black Friday (2004), No Smoking (2007), Dev D (2009), Gulaal (2009), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011) and Gangs of Wasseypur - I & II (2012). As a screenwriter, he wrote the scripts for Satya (1998) and Canadian film Water (2005)..
Kashyap was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where his father worked for the state electricity board. He grew up in several cities, including Varanasi, Saharanpur, Gorakhpur and Obra. He did his early schooling in Dehradun and, age eight onwards, at the Scindia School in Gwalior.
He was fascinated with films right from childhood. Even at age five, he would watch Hindi films like Kora Kagaz and Aandhi at a nearby club and open-air theater which he had to give with the start of schooling. Due to Kashyap's desire to become a scientist, he went to Delhi for his higher studies and enrolled himself into a zoology course at Hansraj College (Delhi University) graduating in 1993. During his college days, he started watching films again and also got involved with drugs and alcohol. He was confused and depressed and had joined a street theater group, Jana Natya Manch and ended up doing a lot of street plays. The same year, friends introduced him to world cinema and urged him to catch a "de Sica retrospective" at the International Film Festival of India. In ten days, Kashyap saw 55 films at the festival, and de Sica's Bicycle Thieves was the film that influenced him the most. Kashyap recollects "in a way you can say that these films changed my life and it's meaning completely for me. Just that one film festival and I decided that this is what I want to be a part of — in next five months I was in Mumbai".
