Jamestown Harbour is a low-density luxury housing development of 73 homes that sits on the eastern edge of the Canary Wharf estate between Poplar Marina and Blackwall Marina. It is spread across three cul-de-sacs, being: Landons Close; Bridge House Quay; and Lancaster Drive.
Jamestown Harbour is also surrounded by 5 heritage waterways, which are: ①Poplar Dock and its sole ancillary structure, ②the Poplar Dock Entrance Lock. Both are Grade II listed. ③Blackwall Basin and its two ancillary structures, ④the Blackwall Basin Entrance Lock, and ⑤the Blackwall Basin Graving Dock. All three are Grade I listed.
It was designed by WCEC Architects for the Wates Group and was completed circa 1985. Jamestown Harbour was one of the first housing developments of the original Docklands regeneration scheme. With its brick built warehouse style exteriors and distinctive blue and red balconies, it was designed to recreate the appearance of traditional river and dockside warehouses.
Rhode Island (i/ˌroʊdˈaɪlənd/, officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a state in the New England region of the United States. Rhode Island is the smallest in area, the eighth least populous, and the second most densely populated (behind New Jersey) of the 50 U.S. states; its official name is also the longest of any state in the Union. Rhode Island is bordered by Connecticut to the west, Massachusetts to the north and east, and the Atlantic Ocean (via Rhode Island Sound and Block Island Sound) to the south.
On May 4, 1776, Rhode Island became the first of the Thirteen Colonies to renounce its allegiance to the British Crown, and later, was the fourth to ratify—February 9, 1778—the Articles of Confederation between the newly sovereign states. It boycotted the 1787 convention that drew up the United States Constitution, and initially refused to ratify it. On May 29, 1790, Rhode Island became the thirteenth and last state to ratify the Constitution.

Jamestown is a town located in Newport County, Rhode Island, in the United States. The population was 5,405 at the 2010 census. Jamestown is situated almost entirely on Conanicut Island, the second largest island in Narragansett Bay.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.3 square miles (91 km2), of which, 9.7 square miles (25 km2) of it is land and 25.6 square miles (66 km2) of it is water. The total area is 72.55% water.
Rhode Island Route 138 is the only state highway in Jamestown, connecting the town and island to North Kingstown to the west (over the Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge) and Newport to the east (over the Newport Bridge).
Humans arrived in the area about 10,000 to 12,000 years ago, at the end of the last ice age, when they settled near streams and rivers. Ongoing melting of glaciers caused the sea level to rise, covering low-lying areas and eventually filling Narragansett Bay. The rising sea forced humans to higher elevations, and submerged most traces of the earliest inhabitants. The oldest human artifacts found on Conanicut Island date from around 3000 BC.
Saint Helena (/ˌseɪnt həˈliːnə/ SAYNT-hə-LEE-nə) is a volcanic tropical island in the South Atlantic Ocean, 4,000 kilometres (2,500 mi) east of Rio de Janeiro and 1,950 kilometres (1,210 mi) west of the Cunene River, which marks the border between Namibia and Angola in southwestern Africa. It is part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. Saint Helena measures about 16 by 8 kilometres (10 by 5 mi) and has a population of 4,255 (2008 census). It was named after Saint Helena of Constantinople.
The island was uninhabited when discovered by the Portuguese in 1502. One of the most remote islands in the world, it was for centuries an important stopover for ships sailing to Europe from Asia and South Africa. Napoleon was imprisoned there in exile by the British, as were Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo (for leading a Zulu army against British rule) and more than 5,000 Boers taken prisoner during the Second Boer War.
Between 1791 and 1833, Saint Helena became the site of a series of experiments in conservation, reforestation and attempts to boost rainfall artificially. This environmental intervention was closely linked to the conceptualisation of the processes of environmental change and helped establish the roots of environmentalism.

Impacts of the English in the New World ( Pilgrims ) Some 100 people, many of them seeking religious freedom in the New World, set sail from England on the Mayflower in September 1620. That November, the ship landed on the shores of Cape Cod, in present-day Massachusetts. A scouting party was sent out, and in late December the group landed at Plymouth Harbor, where they would form the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England. These original settlers of Plymouth Colony are known as the Pilgrim Fathers, or simply as the Pilgrims.

We spent the week of Christmas visiting Isa's family in her hometown of Sitka, AK. We both work remotely, so we still worked while we were up there, but we had plenty of time to explore and hike and enjoy Alaska. To give you an idea of the layout, you've got downtown Sitka in the middle, and then Halibut Point Road (HPR) runs north about 15 minutes to Starrigavan, where we hiked Mosquito Cove and whatever the random hike is at 2:30 - which is newly built and may not actually have a name yet. From downtown in the other direction is Sawmill Creek which runs along the coast to Silver Bay. There are some great hikes out here too, but we didn't do them this time. We also stopped in Highliner, which is a fantastic local cafe. Harbor Books didn't make the video, but we stopped in there too and ...

Wander back in time through the Town of St. George, the oldest continuously occupied British settlement in the New World. British sailors shipwrecked here in 1609 while travelling to Jamestown, Virginia. Jamestown was later abandoned, but St. George's has lived on for more than 400 years. The town, a number of forts, and historic sites around it are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll find picturesque cottages, quaint lanes and narrow alleyways scattered around King's Square. Notable sights include the Bermuda Old State House from 1620, the Old Rectory from 1699 and St. Peter's Church, Their Majesties Chappell, one of the oldest churches in the Western Hemisphere.

The Jamestown settlement in the Colony of Virginia was the first permanent English settlement in the Americas. William Kelso says Jamestown "is where the British Empire began,... this was the first colony in the British Empire." Established by the Virginia Company of London as "James Fort" on May 4, 1607 (O.S., May 14, 1607 N.S.), and considered permanent after brief abandonment in 1610, it followed several earlier failed attempts, including the Lost Colony of Roanoke. Jamestown served as the capital of the colony for 83 years, from 1616 until 1699. The settlement was located within the country of Tsenacommacah, which was administered by the Powhatan Confederacy, and specifically in that of the Paspahegh tribe. The natives initially welcomed and provided crucial provisions and support for ...
