These scenes were taken around The Blue Mountains & Scenic World at Katoomba, 100km's west of Sydney. Take a ride down the worlds steepest railway, walk through the rainforest, hop aboard the cableway then enjoy panoramic views of the Jamieson valley aboard the Skyway. You'll also see the waterfall which named Katoomba, "Shining Tumbling Waters".

For our last full day in Australia we decided to head somewhere special while on the way to Sydney from Canberra.... The Blue Mountains. We firstly made our way to Katoomba and then to Scenic World, we took the Steepest Railway in the world down to the valley floor and walked the longest elevated Boardwalk in Australia. We then took the Largest Cable car in Australia back to the top and then Australia's highest cable car over to see the Three Sisters. After that we made our way to Wentworth Falls where we got breathtaking views as the sun went down.... My favourite day of the trip? It's a close one.

Bob Weir
Robert Hall "Bob" Weir (WEER; born October 16, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, most recognized as a founding member of the Grateful Dead. After the Grateful Dead disbanded in 1995, Weir performed with The Other Ones, later known as The Dead, together with other former members of the Grateful Dead. Weir also founded and played in several other bands during and after his career with the Grateful Dead, including Kingfish, the Bob Weir Band, Bobby and the Midnites, Scaring the Children, RatDog, Furthur, co-led by former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, and Dead & Company, formed with former Grateful Dead drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart.
During his career with the Grateful Dead, Weir played mostly rhythm guitar and sang many of the band's rock-n-roll tunes. As a guitarist, he is known for his unique style of complex voiceleading, bringing unusual depth and a new approach to the role of rhythm guitar expression.
Early life
Weir was born in San Francisco, California to John (Jack) Parber and a fellow college student who later gave him up, and was raised by his adoptive parents, Frederic Utter and Eleanor Cramer Weir, in the suburb of Atherton. He began playing guitar at age thirteen after less successful experimentation with the piano and the trumpet. He had trouble in school because of undiagnosed dyslexia and he was expelled from nearly every school he attended, including The Menlo School in Atherton, California and Fountain Valley School in Colorado. At Fountain Valley he met John Perry Barlow, who later wrote the lyrics to a number of Grateful Dead songs.

Blue
Blue is the colour between violet and green on the optical spectrum of visible light. Human eyes perceive blue when observing light with a wavelength between 450 and 495 nanometres. Blues with a higher frequency and thus a shorter wavelength gradually look more violet, while those with a lower frequency and a longer wavelength gradually appear more green. Pure blue, in the middle, has a wavelength of 470 nanometres. In painting and traditional colour theory, blue is one of the three primary colours of pigments, along with red and yellow, which can be mixed to form a wide gamut of colours. Red and blue mixed together form violet, blue and yellow together form green. Blue is also a primary colour in the RGB colour model, used to create all the colours on the screen of a television or computer monitor.
The modern English word blue comes from Middle English bleu or blewe, from the Old French bleu, a word of Germanic origin, related to the Old High German word blao. The clear sky and the deep sea appear blue because of an optical effect known as Rayleigh scattering. When sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the blue wavelengths are scattered more widely by the oxygen and nitrogen molecules, and more blue comes to our eyes. Rayleigh scattering also explains blue eyes; there is no blue pigment in blue eyes. Distant objects appear more blue because of another optical effect called atmospheric perspective.

Mountain
A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area, usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill. Mountains are formed through tectonic forces or volcanism. These forces can locally raise the surface of the earth. Mountains erode slowly through the action of rivers, weather conditions, and glaciers. A few mountains are isolated summits, but most occur in huge mountain ranges.
High elevations on mountains produce colder climates than at sea level. These colder climates strongly affect the ecosystems of mountains: different elevations have different plants and animals. Because of the less hospitable terrain and climate, mountains tend to be used less for agriculture and more for resource extraction and recreation, such as mountain climbing.
The highest mountain on Earth is Mount Everest in the Himalayas of Asia, whose summit is 8,850 m (29,035 ft) above mean sea level. The highest known mountain on any planet in the Solar System is Olympus Mons on Mars at 21,171 m (69,459 ft).

Australia - The Blue Mountains - Three Sisters & Scenic World
For our last full day in Australia we decided to head somewhere special while on the way to Sydney from Canberra.... The Blue Mountains. We firstly made our way to Katoomba and then to Scenic World, we took the Steepest Railway in the world down to the valley floor and walked the longest elevated Boardwalk in Australia. We then took the Largest Cable car in Australia back to the top and then Australia's highest cable car over to see the Three Sisters. After that we made our way to Wentworth Falls where we got breathtaking views as the sun went down.... My favourite day of the trip? It's a close one. For our last full day in Australia we decided to head somewhere special while on the way to Sydney from Canberra.... The Blue Mountains. We firstly made our way to Katoomba and then to Scenic World, we took the Steepest Railway in the world down to the valley floor and walked the longest elevated Boardwalk in Australia. We then took the Largest Cable car in Australia back to the top and then Australia's highest cable car over to see the Three Sisters. After that we made our way to Wentworth Falls where we got breathtaking views as the sun went down.... My favourite day of the trip? It's a close one.

Around 3,000 firefighters in California battled major wildfires after the end of a five-year drought across the state, as it was gripped by a record-breaking heatwave.
