Steve or Steven Miller may refer to:
The Steve Miller Band is an American rock band formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California. The band is managed by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals. It is best known today for a string of (mainly) mid-1970s hit singles that are staples of classic rock radio, as well as several earlier acid rock albums. Miller left his first band to move to San Francisco and form the Steve Miller Blues Band. Shortly after Harvey Kornspan negotiated the band’s landmark contract with Capitol/EMI Records in 1967, the band shortened its name to the Steve Miller Band. In February 1968, the band recorded its debut album, Children of the Future. It went on to produce the albums Sailor, Brave New World, Your Saving Grace, Number 5, Rock Love and more. The band's Greatest Hits 1974–78, released in 1978, sold over 13 million copies. The band continued to produce more albums and in 2014 toured with the rock band Journey. In 2015, Steve Miller was nominated as a solo artist for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
A miller usually refers to a person who operates a mill, a machine to grind a cereal crop to make flour.
Milling is among the oldest of human occupations. "Miller", "Milne" and other variants are common surnames, as are their equivalents in other languages around the world ("Müller" or "Mueller" in German, "Molnár" in Hungarian, "Molinero" in Spanish, "Molinaro or Molinari" in Italian etc.). Milling existed in hunter-gatherer communities, and later millers were important to the development of agriculture.
The materials ground by millers are often foodstuffs and particularly grain. The physical grinding of the food allows for the easier digestion of its nutrients and saves wear on the teeth. Non-food substances needed in a fine, powdered form, such as building materials, may be processed by a miller.
The most basic tool for a miller was the quern-stone—simply a large, fixed stone as a base and another movable stone operated by hand, similar to a mortar and pestle. As technology and millstones (the bedstone and rynd) improved, more elaborate machines such as watermills and windmills were developed to do the grinding work. These mills harnessed available energy sources including animal, water, wind, and electrical power. Mills are some of the oldest factories in human history, so factories making other items are sometimes known as mills, for example, cotton mills and steel mills. These factory workers are also called millers.
Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.
In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.
Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).
Fly Like an Eagle is the ninth studio album by American rock group Steve Miller Band. The album was released in May 1976 (see 1976 in music) by Capitol Records in North America and Mercury Records in Europe. A Quadraphonic mix of the album was available on the Quadraphonic 8-Track cartridge format (in which Track 1 - "Space Intro" is edited into "Fly Like an Eagle" as one track, and Track 6 - "Take the Money and Run" intro repeats twice).
The album was a success, spawning three singles: the title track, "Take the Money and Run" and "Rock'n Me", and eventually receiving quadruple platinum certification from the RIAA.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 450 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. On an updated list in 2012, the magazine listed the album at number 445.
In 2006 the album was re-released to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. The CD is digitally remastered and includes three bonus tracks and a bonus DVD features a concert performance at Mountain View, California's Shoreline Amphitheater in 2005 with over two hours of music in 5.1 Surround Sound (Note this surround mix is not based on the QUAD mix as track 1 and 6 are not different from the standard releases). Guest musicians include George Thorogood and Joe Satriani. The DVD also features a lengthy interview with Steve Miller, archive footage, never-before-seen photographs, and early demo recordings.

Jim Acosta vs Stephen Miller White House Press Briefing 8/2/17. NN’s Jim Acosta sparred with White House advisor Stephen Miller in a seriously heated back-and-forth over immigration. Acosta told Miller, “What you’re proposing or what the President’s proposing here does not sound like it’s in keeping with American tradition when it comes to immigration.” He quoted the words on the Statue of Liberty “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses” and asked Miller if he’s “trying to change what it means to be an immigrant coming into this country.” Miller pushed back by saying the words were “added later” and things got even more heated from there. Acosta at one point asked, in talking about the “press 1 for English philosophy,” “Are we just going to bring in people from Great Britain a...

Well, I know you heard of Suzy-Q
And I know you heard of the chicken too
I know you heard of the cha-cha-choo
'Cause the walk is a dance that you can do
You just walk, you just walk
Oh, you walk, yes, you walk
Yeah, you walk, it has to walk
Well, I know you heard of the Texas Hop
I know you heard of the old Fox Trot
But when you do the walk, you ride each car
You just shake your hips and close your eyes
And then you walk, yeah, you walk
Then you walk, oh, you walk
Ah, you walk, oh yes, you walk
Do the walk, boys
Well, I know you heard of the old mambo
And I know you heard of the old Congo
But when you do the walk, you're startin' to get close
And don't step on your partners toes
You just walk, yeah, you walk
Then you walk, yes, you walk
Oh, you walk, just the walk
Now if you don't know what it's all about
Come to me and I'll show you how
Well, do it fast, well, do it slow
Then you'll know the walk everywhere you go
You can walk, and you walk
Now you walk, you gonna walk
You gotta walk it, just a walk
Just a walk, just a walk
Just a walk
