Global Radio

Global Radio is a British media company formed in 2007, which owns a large number of radio stations across the country. The company has expanded through a number of acquisitions, including Chrysalis Radio, GCap Media and GMG Radio. Global have followed a strategy of focusing on several existing radio station brands which it had rebranded other stations under, running as partially syndicated networks, with limited locally produced programming.

Global Radio is part of the Global Group, which is also involved in television broadcasting and artist management services.

History

Global Radio was founded by Ashley Tabor in 2007, with financial backing from his father Michael Tabor, and purchased Chrysalis Radio, where Global took control of the radio brands Heart, Galaxy, LBC and The Arrow. A year later on 31 October 2008 Global Radio officially took control of all GCap Media and its brands. The GCap Media name was dropped at this time. The GCap purchase gave Global the network of FM stations which GCap had operated as The One Network (many of which are now part of the Heart or Capital networks), plus Classic FM, XFM, Capital Xtra, Gold and Chill.

Ibiza

Ibiza (Catalan: Eivissa [əjˈvisə])^[p] is an island in the Mediterranean Sea, 150 kilometres (93 miles) off the coast of the city of Valencia, in eastern Spain. It is the third largest of the Balearic Islands, an autonomous community of Spain. Its largest cities are Ibiza Town (Catalan: Vila d'Eivissa, or simply Vila), Santa Eulària des Riu, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. Its highest point, called Sa Talaiassa (or Sa Talaia), is 475 metres (1,558 feet) above sea level.

While it is one-sixth the size of nearby Majorca, Ibiza is over five times the size of Mykonos (Greece), or ten times the size of Manhattan Island. Ibiza has become famous for the association with nightlife and the electronic music that originated on the island. It is well known for its summer club scene which attracts very large numbers of tourists, though the island's government and the Spanish Tourist Office have controversially been working to promote more family-oriented tourism.

Ibiza is the home of the noted port in Ibiza Town, a popular stop for many tourists and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Radio

Radio is the use of radio waves is to carry information, such as sound, by systematically modulating some property of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. When radio waves strike an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. The information in the waves can be extracted and transformed back into its original form.

Radio systems need a transmitter to modulate (change) some property of the energy produced to impress a signal on it, for example using amplitude modulation or angle modulation (which can be frequency modulation or phase modulation). Radio systems also need an antenna to convert electric currents into radio waves, and vice versa. An antenna can be used for both transmitting and receiving. The electrical resonance of tuned circuits in radios allow individual stations to be selected. The electromagnetic wave is intercepted by a tuned receiving antenna. A radio receiver receives its input from an antenna and converts it into a form usable for the consumer, such as sound, pictures, digital data, measurement values, navigational positions, etc. Radio frequencies occupy the range from a 3 kHz to 300 GHz, although commercially important uses of radio use only a small part of this spectrum.

David Moreno

David Moreno (born July 14, 1984 in Logroño, La Rioja) is a Spanish singer, actor, presenter, and journalist.

Education

From 1989 to 2009, Moreno took singing and dancing classes with many different Spanish teachers. He took a high school musical workshop with Stage Entertainment Spain (Madrid) in 2008. From 2006 to 2007, he attended Espada de Madera Theatre School in Madrid, and from 2007 to 2009 attended Corazza Actors Studio in Madrid. In 2009, he received a degree in journalism from The Complutense University of Madrid (reference needed), and a degree in acting and musical theatre from Arts Educational Schools, London.

After signing with the record label 'Blanco y Negro' he reached the top 9 at the Spanish charts with his single 'Turn Up The Radio'. Recently he launched 'Sueña Conmigo' and 'Titanio' a great version of David Guetta's hit.
