The world community (also called the global community) is the international aggregate of nation states.
Willard, Charles Arthur. Liberalism and the Problem of Knowledge: A New Rhetoric for Modern Democracy, University of Chicago Press, 1996.
The Global Community (GC) is the fictional world government/state described in the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. The Global Community was established as the successor of the United Nations by Nicolae Carpathia, the series' main antagonist.
At its territorial peak, the GC controlled the entire world. Initially the state was a peaceful union of nations. As time passed by however, the state increasingly became anti-Christian and despotic. Ultimately it was destroyed after the second coming of Christ.
The Global Community was born out of the immediate aftermath of the Rapture, an event that caused millions of people to disappear from the face of the Earth. Due to the mass disappearances, the world descends into chaos and mass hysteria. The disappearances happen a week after the newly elected United Nations General Assembly starts session. On the same day of the Rapture, the United Nations Secretary-General, Mwangati Ngumo, resigns. He is immediately replaced with worldwide approval by a 33-year-old Romanian politician named Nicolae Carpathia, who was elected to the open position supposedly against his will.
Global means of or referring to a globe and may also refer to:
A community is a social unit of any size that shares common values, or that is situated in a given geographical area (e.g. a village or town). It is a group of people who are connected by durable relations that extend beyond immediate genealogical ties, and who mutually define that relationship as important to their social identity and practice. Although communities are usually small, community may also refer to large groups, such as national communities, international communities, and virtual communities.
The word "community" is derived from the Old French comuneté which comes from the Latin communitas (from Latin communis, things held in common).
In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, and risks, may be shared in common, affecting the identity of the participants, and their degree of cohesiveness.
Community studies is an academic field drawing on both sociology and anthropology and the social research methods of ethnography and participant observation in the study of community. In academic settings around the world, community studies is variously a sub-discipline of anthropology or sociology, or an independent discipline. It is often interdisciplinary and geared toward practical applications rather than purely theoretical perspectives. Community studies is sometimes combined with other fields, i.e., "Urban and Community Studies," "Health and Community Studies," or "Family and Community studies."
The Common Core State Standards Initiative is an educational initiative in the United States that details what K–12 students should know in English language arts and mathematics at the end of each grade. The initiative is sponsored by the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and seeks to establish consistent educational standards across the states as well as ensure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit-bearing courses at two- or four-year college programs or to enter the workforce.
In the 1990s, the "Standards & Accountability Movement" began in the U.S. as states began writing standards (a) outlining what students were expected to know and to be able to do at each grade level, and (b) implementing assessments designed to measure whether students were meeting the standards. As part of this education reform movement, the nation's governors and corporate leaders founded Achieve, Inc. in 1996 as a bipartisan organization to raise academic standards and graduation requirements, improve assessments, and strengthen accountability in all 50 states. The initial motivation for the development of the Common Core State Standards was part of the American Diploma Project (ADP).

The Common Core State Standards draws on students’ abilities to think critically, communicate globally, express creativity and connect across the curriculum. Because he immigrated to the United States from Iran, Mohsen Ghaffari, the Utah Teacher of the Year, 2015, clearly understands the need for these rigorous, global skills. In fact, Ghaffari says the Common Core’s emphasis on communication and collaboration help build community in his classroom, a classroom where many students come from homes where English is their second language.

No matter how shocking the statistic or heartbreaking the photograph, when it comes to truly supporting a person or a community in need, nothing can compare to the personal connection. Jordan Ashley is the founder of Souljourn Yoga Foundation (souljournyoga.com), a non-profit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for girls education in developing countries through global yoga retreats. Drawing on her experience of journalism, travel and being a full time yoga teacher, she created Souljourn Yoga as an avenue for the practitioner who wants more than just “down dog” and to expand the need for equal education across the globe. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Politicians, philanthropists, activists and marketers are using film, social media and gaming to build communities, sometimes literally overnight. With the aid of technology, they are telling stories to communicate complex ideas and encouraging a worldwide audience to take action to solve pressing problems. Harnessing the power, popularity and profitability of these tools for social good educates users while raising funds and awareness globally. New media is connecting people with shared interests in inventive ways, activating even small groups to take on big challenges, often engaging celebrities to raise the profile of a cause and give voice to the voiceless. Our panel will discuss the newest ways to make the broadest impact.
