Some would call her brave, others would call her stupid, but this woman clearly couldn't care less.

In one quick photo, she's summed up the complicated relationship of siblings.

Taken in her sister's hospital room, Kat Armendariz, 27, took a beaming selfie while her sister Kimberly Ramirez, 20, lay in bed behind her, hands covering her eyes and wailing in labour pain.

The cheeky caption said: "SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her v**".

Kat, who is a Texan photographer and mother to five children, told Mashable she had asked her sister's permission before taking the selfie.

"She wasn't in too much pain at first, so she thought it was pretty funny," Kat said.

"I told her I was going to do it, she just started the oxytocin and the labour pains began almost instantly.

"She started to feel it and right when she was like, 'Oh my god I can't take this', I took the photo."

The selfie has been now been viewed nearly 500,000 times on Imgur and received 1,000 comments.

"She's not even in labor she just realized how much raising a child costs and what is going to happen to her interests and ambitions," said one commentator.

Another said: "I can't imagine the pain of squeezing a human out of such a small opening. Please let her know the internet is pulling for her"

And this one sums up what we were all thinking: "This is why I love the internet."

Kimberly told TODAY that she was totally fine with her sister taking the hilarious selfie.

"I was starting to have labour pains, so it wasn't pleasant feeling that," she said.

"I thought the photo was funny and it helped ease my pain."

Kat stayed by her sister's side throughout the night and after being in labour for 15 hours, Kimberly gave birth to her first child - a beautiful baby boy, Zayden.

"When (Zayden) grows up, he'll be able to see that his debut was wild," said Kat.

The selfie follows a stunning series of maternity images Kat took of her sister before the birth. See, she's not all bad.
