Ilocos Sur
Ilocos Sur (Ilocano: Abagatan nga Ilocos; Tagalog: Timog Ilokos) is a province in the Philippines located in the Ilocos Region in Luzon. Vigan City, located on the mouth of the Mestizo River is the provincial capital.
Ilocos Sur is bordered by Ilocos Norte and Abra to the north, Mountain Province to the east, La Union and Benguet to the south, and the South China Sea to the west.
History
Before the arrival of the Spaniards, the coastal plains in northwestern Luzón, stretching from Bangui (Ilocos Norte) in the north to Namacpacan (Luna, La Union) in the south, were a region called the Ylokos. This region lies in between the China Sea in the west and Northern Cordilleras on the east. The inhabitants built their villages near the small bays on coves called looc in the dialect. These coastal inhabitants were referred to as Ylocos which literally meant from the lowlands. The entire region was then called by the ancient name Samtoy from sao ditoy which in Ilocano mean our dialect. The region was later called by the Spaniards as Ylocos or Ilocos and its people Ilocanos.

Lights and Sounds
Lights and Sounds is the fifth studio album by American pop punk band Yellowcard, released on January 24, 2006, in the United States through Capitol Records. Lights and Sounds is Yellowcard's first concept album, which was inspired to reflect what the band was feeling at the time of production and how they have matured in the process. Lights and Sounds also departs from the sounds on Yellowcard's previous album, Ocean Avenue (2003), which broke away from its pop punk sound to a more alternative rock album.
Lights and Sounds debuted to mixed reviews from contemporary music critics, receiving criticism as the album fell short from the standard set by its predecessor, Ocean Avenue. Upon the album's release, it charted at number five on Billboard's 200 and Top Internet Albums' charts, making it the band highest charting album to date. The album accumulated sales of just over 315,000 copies, which failed to match the 2 million sales of their previous album. Yellowcard went on to explain that the disappointment of the sales were due to their going "a bit too far" with the expectations they had thought the album would exceed.Lights and Sounds was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

We wanted to see Calle Crisologo during dawn so we started out early to take pictures. After our picture taking session we had breakfast and had our first taste of Vigan longanisa. We head back to our hotel room, and started packing our things for the journey home. While we were packing and reviewing the map of the Philippines, we realized how close we were to Sagada and decided to extend our trip and go to Sagada instead of going back to manila. We switched to a cheaper accomodation and stayed at Green R Hotel. The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing for the road trip the next day. Vigan Ilocos Sur / Baluarte Zoo / Heritage Village Ilocos Tour Series 7
Vigan City Ilocos Sur is one of the oldest towns in the Philippines, and it voted as one of the new 7 wonder cities in the world. During our recent visit, we walk down along Calle Crisolog (Heritage Village) - a cobble-stoned stret in Vigan with Spanish-colonial fairy tale of dark wood ancestral mansions and horse drawn carriages known as kalesa. The architecture is exceptionally intact, well-preserved and is truly reflective of its roots which makes it a romantic adventure for couples visiting this prominent Ilocos tourist spot.The town itself is a wonder as it's also considered as one of the UNESCO WOrld Heritage site.
After a yester-year walk at Calle Crisologo, head down to Plaza Salcedo in the evening and watch the nightly Vigan Dancing Fountain show.
Prior to going to Vigan Heritage Village, we had the chance to visit Baluarte Zoo - private own Zoo by Chavit Singson. It's about 10 minutes away from the city and it's open everyday to the public for Free.
How to get to Vigan City from Manila
Bus - there are lots of buses coming from Manila (Partas, Victory Liner, Farinas Trans, Florida, RCJ Lines, Maria De Leon). Head to Cubao Bus Terminal or Sampaloc Manila and look for buses heading to Vigan or Laoag City.
Car - 8-10 hours drive to northern part of Philippines
Air - though Vigan has its own airport, flights from Manila to Ilocos is only through Laoag International Airport. From Laoag take the public transportation to a 2 hours bus ride to Vigan.

Last day on our Ilocos Tour with Travel Now Asia, Baninay YTVPH creators. We had an amazing food during our trip in Vigan, Ilocos Sur! Traveled to Ilocos to discover the filipino food and Philippines street food along the way.
We ate at a Filipino restaurant in Vigan, Ilocos Sur called Kusina Felecitas Restaurant to try some of the best Ilocano dishes. It is located at NO. 1 BONIFACIO ST. CORNER QUIRINO BLVD
Vigan, Ilocos Sur 2700. The Ilocano cuisine that were served were delicious! Poqui poqui balls, bagnet, pinakbet and their version odf small bibingka were so good..
After eating, we checked the Crisologo Museum and Baluarte Zoo. Also tasted some kalamay and tupig outside.
Then we ate again at Hidden Garden Lilong and Lilang Restaurant located at #56 Bulala Centro Vigan, Ilocos Sur 2700. The ambiance is very relaxing with variety of plants and a bonsai garden. They also served Ilocano dishes that were top notched and very yummy!
Capped off the evening by strolling in the streets of Calle Crisologo. The streets are alive and very nostalgic like you want to go in the past and relive the Spanish era again.

Then we ate again at Hidden Garden Lilong and Lilang Restaurant located at #56 Bulala Centro Vigan, Ilocos Sur 2700. The ambiance is very relaxing with variety of plants and a bonsai garden. They also served Ilocano dishes that were top notched and very yummy!
Capped off the evening by strolling in the streets of Calle Crisologo. The streets are alive and very nostalgic like you want to go in the past and relive the Spanish era again.

We wanted to see Calle Crisologo during dawn so we started out early to take pictures. After our picture taking session we had breakfast and had our first taste of Vigan longanisa. We head back to our hotel room, and started packing our things for the journey home. While we were packing and reviewing the map of the Philippines, we realized how close we were to Sagada and decided to extend our trip and go to Sagada instead of going back to manila. We switched to a cheaper accomodation and stayed at Green R Hotel. The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing for the road trip the next day. For early dinner, we took a 30 minute walk to Hidden Garden restaurant. At the restaurant, we had sinanglaw, okoy and buko halo-halo. After dinner, we walked around the town proper for an hour or so and bought an empanada and a souvenir T-shirt. We went back to the room for last minute preparations and some much needed rest for the next day.
