Now playing in 70mm and regular theaters is Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. Starring’s Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Demian Bichir, Bruce Dern, and Channing Tatum, The Hateful Eight is one of those movies you need to see in a theater and on the biggest screen in your area. For more on why you should see it, read Matt’s review. At the Los Angeles press day I sat down with producer Richard N. Gladstein for an extended conversation. During the interview he talked about the balance of proper financing, artistic integrity, telling the story, making the financiers happy, how picking the right international financiers made The Hateful Eight a special experience, what might be on the eventual Blu-ray, deleted scenes, restru...
Richard N. Gladstein has been a producer on 4 Tarantino films and Stacey Sher has been on 3, with both of them on both Pulp Fiction and QT's latest, The Hateful Eight. So both are a part of the history and have great stories about the journey, some of which they told to David Poland. Shot in Los Angeles, December 2015 Subscribe to DP/30 for more interviews: http://bit.ly/17Xg4Y1
Producer Richard N. Gladstein is a cornerstone in the film world. Oscar, BAFTA and PGA nominated for “Finding Neverland”, as well as Oscar nominated for “The Cider House Rules”, Gladstein also wrote the thoughtful and emotional Frank Langella-Wes Bentley vehicle, “The Time Being”, and has been a producer on films like the action-packed “The Bourne Identity” and fanciful “Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”. And the movies and moviegoers have Gladstein to thank, in large part, for taking a chance on a once unknown young filmmaker named Quentin Tarantino and a little film called “Reservoir Dogs”. Gladstein has since been an integral part of the ever expanding Quentin Tarantino catalogue, including THE HATEFUL EIGHT. On December 8, 2015, I sat down with Richard Gladstein for an exclusive int...
