DJ mix

A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it's possible to create one using sound editing software.

DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc.Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York nightclub Sanctuary. Upon its release in 2000, Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Presents: Another World became the biggest selling dj mix album in the US.

Music

A DJ mix is often put together with music from genres that fit into the more general term electronic dance music. Other genres mixed by DJ includes hip hop, breakbeat and disco. Four on the floor disco beats can be used to create seamless mixes so as to keep dancers locked to the dancefloor. Two of main characteristics of music used in dj mixes is a dominant bassline and repetitive beats. Music mixed by djs usually has a tempo which ranges from 120 bpm up to 160 bpm.

Audio mixing

Audio mixing is the process by which multiple sounds are combined into one or more channels. In the process, the source signals' level, frequency content, dynamics, and panoramic position are manipulated and effects such as reverb may be added. This practical, aesthetic, or otherwise creative treatment is done in order to produce a mix that is more appealing to listeners.

Audio mixing is practiced for music, film, television and live sound. The process is generally carried out by a mixing engineer operating a mixing console or digital audio workstation.

Recorded music

Before the introduction of multitrack recording, all the sounds and effects that were to be part of a recording were mixed together at one time during a live performance. If the mix wasn't satisfactory, or if one musician made a mistake, the selection had to be performed over until the desired balance and performance was obtained. However, with the introduction of multitrack recording, the production phase of a modern recording has radically changed into one that generally involves three stages: recording, overdubbing, and mixdown.

Kristína (singer)

Kristína Peláková (born 20 August 1987), professionally known as Kristína, is a Slovak singer. Kristína started her career as a child singer, dancer and piano player in Svidník, Slovakia. Following the advice of her music teacher, she took singing as her major and attended the Conservatoire (Music School) in Košice. While studying, her favourite place in the town was the Jazz Club where she met Martin Kavulič. He became her producer and helped her to secure a contract with the record label H.o.M.E. Production. Her first single was "Som tvoja" (I Belong To You), featuring the rapper Opak, released in 2007. The first track, named "Vráť mi tie hviezdy" (Give The Stars Back To Me), became a hit in Slovakia in 2008. Her début album ....ešte váham (...Still Hesitating) was also released in this year. Kristína won the national selection to represent Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Horehronie". She got the largest share of television votes and came second in the jury vote. Horehronie is a rural region in Slovakia. The lyrics tells the story of a heartbroken girl who finds solace in the nature, its woods and "black hills to make her grief disappear." The song was composed by Martin Kavulič. The song peaked at No.1 on the Slovak airplay chart and she became a very popular hit in Slovakia and for the eurovision fan. Kristína failed to qualify to the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 Final from Semifinal 1 on 25 May.

Shit

Shit is an English word that is usually considered vulgar and profane in Modern English. As a noun it refers to fecal matter, and as a verb it means to defecate; in the plural ("the shits") it means diarrhea. Shite is also a common variant in British English and Irish English. As a slang term, it has many meanings, including: nonsense, foolishness, something of little value or quality, trivial and usually boastful or inaccurate talk, or a contemptible person. It may also be used as an expression of annoyance, surprise, or anger.

Etymology

The word is likely derived from Old English, having the nouns scite (dung, attested only in place names) and scitte (diarrhoea), and the verb scītan (to defecate, attested only in bescītan, to cover with excrement); eventually it morphed into Middle English schītte (excrement), schyt (diarrhoea) and shiten (to defecate), and it is virtually certain that it was used in some form by preliterate Germanic tribes at the time of the Roman Empire. The word may be further traced to Proto-Germanic *skit-, and ultimately to Proto-Indo-European *skheid- "cut, separate", the same root believed to have become the word shed. The word has several cognates in modern Germanic languages, such as German Scheiße, Dutch schijt, Swedish skit, Icelandic skítur, Norwegian skitt etc. Ancient Greek had 'skōr' (gen. 'skatos' hence 'scato-'), from Proto-Indo-European *sker-, which is likely unrelated.

"Shit" (stylized as "Sh!t", edited for radio as "Shhh...") is a song by American hip hop recording artist Future. It was released on September 24, 2013, as the third single from his second studio album, Honest (2014). The song has since peaked at number 45 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

On December 14, 2013, it was announced Canadian rapper Drake, would appear on the song's remix. On December 15, 2013, it was revealed fellow American rappers Schoolboy Q, Jeezy, Pastor Troy, T.I. and Juicy J, were also added to the remix. On December 17, 2013, a remix featuring Drake and Juicy J was released, which appears on DJ Esco's No Sleep mixtape. On December 19, 2013, the "ATL remix" was released which features Pastor Troy, Jeezy and T.I.. On December 20, 2013, a remix featuring West Coast rapper Schoolboy Q and hip hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, was released. On December 23, 2013, the song's producer Mike Will Made It, released a mixtape titled #MikeWillBeenTrill, which was hosted by Future. The mixtape includes a "Megamix" of the song, featuring verses from rappers Drake, Jeezy, T.I., Juicy J, Schoolboy Q, Diddy and Pastor Troy.
