HIGH SIERRA - A JOURNEY ON THE JOHN MUIR TRAIL is a first-hand experience along the John Muir Trail, through the tallest mountain range in the contiguous United States. It follows a group of young students as they make the 220 mile trek in the wake of John Muir’s own footsteps. The film captures the visual splendor of the ‘Range of Light’ as well as the range of emotions and physical challenges that accompany such an epic adventure. It includes reflection by Yosemite Park Ranger, Shelton Johnson (also featured in Ken Burn’s documentary, The National Parks), who shares insight about the trail and the spiritual meaning and importance of the American wilderness. The dynamic soundtrack, featuring music from Lonnie Walker, Megafaun, Phil Cook, Gayngs, Luego, Mandolin Orange, Boat, and I was totally destroying it completes this compelling high-definition audio-visual experience.

The third and final part of EpicTV's #EpicSpainShred was a late spring trip to Europe's most southerly ski resort of Sierra Nevada in Andalucia - you can even see Morocco from the top on a clear day and being that it's the sunniest resort in Europe, that's most of the time! It also saw a change of personnel as UK superstar quad-flipping snowboarder Billy Morgan and Swiss model / TV host / ex-pipe skier Olympian Mirjam Jaeger take over for the last leg of this journey, filmed in April 2016, when most ski resorts in Europe have already shut.
Sierra Nevada made us feel very welcome and made sure we had plenty of activities during the trip, which included slushy park laps, a super-booter built especially for Billy, night-skiing and a sunset kicker session. Off the slopes was spent enjoying beers in the sun, a trip to nearby Granada to see the beautiful Alhambra Palace, and even a beach trip for wake-boarding & stand-up-paddle boarding!
It's all looking good for the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada - if you get a chance to check it out, we'd recommend it!

Nevada
Nevada (Spanish for "snow covered") is a state in the Western, Mountain West, and Southwestern regions of the United States of America. Nevada is the 7th most extensive, the 35th most populous, and the 9th least densely populated of the 50 United States. Nearly three-quarters of Nevada's people live in Clark County, which contains the Las Vegas–Paradise metropolitan area where three of the state's four largest incorporated cities are located. Nevada's capital is Carson City. Nevada is officially known as the "Silver State" due to the importance of silver to its history and economy. It is also known as the "Battle Born State", because it achieved statehood during the Civil War (the words "Battle Born" also appear on the state flag); as the "Sagebrush State", for the native plant of the same name; and as "Sage hen State". Nevada borders Oregon to the northwest, Idaho to the northeast, California to the west, Arizona to the southeast and Utah to the east.
Nevada is largely desert and semiarid, much of it located within the Great Basin. Areas south of the Great Basin are located within the Mojave Desert, while Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada lie on the western edge. About 86% of the state's land is managed by various jurisdictions of the U.S. federal government, both civilian and military.

John Muir
John Muir (/mjʊər/; April 21, 1838 – December 24, 1914) was a Scottish-American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States. His letters, essays, and books telling of his adventures in nature, especially in the Sierra Nevada of California, have been read by millions. His activism helped to preserve the Yosemite Valley, Sequoia National Park and other wilderness areas. The Sierra Club, which he founded, is a prominent American conservation organization. The 211-mile (340 km) John Muir Trail, a hiking trail in the Sierra Nevada, was named in his honor. Other such places include Muir Woods National Monument, Muir Beach, John Muir College, Mount Muir, Camp Muir and Muir Glacier. In Scotland, the John Muir Way, a 130 mile long distance route, was named in honor of him.
In his later life, Muir devoted most of his time to the preservation of the Western forests. He petitioned the U.S. Congress for the National Park bill that was passed in 1890, establishing Yosemite National Park. The spiritual quality and enthusiasm toward nature expressed in his writings inspired readers, including presidents and congressmen, to take action to help preserve large nature areas. He is today referred to as the "Father of the National Parks" and the National Park Service has produced a short documentary about his life.

The third and final part of EpicTV's #EpicSpainShred was a late spring trip to Europe's most southerly ski resort of Sierra Nevada in Andalucia - you can even see Morocco from the top on a clear day and being that it's the sunniest resort in Europe, that's most of the time! It also saw a change of personnel as UK superstar quad-flipping snowboarder Billy Morgan and Swiss model / TV host / ex-pipe skier Olympian Mirjam Jaeger take over for the last leg of this journey, filmed in April 2016, when most ski resorts in Europe have already shut. Sierra Nevada made us feel very welcome and made sure we had plenty of activities during the trip, which included slushy park laps, a super-booter built especially for Billy, night-skiing and a sunset kicker session. The third and final part of EpicTV's #EpicSpainShred was a late spring trip to Europe's most southerly ski resort of Sierra Nevada in Andalucia - you can even see Morocco from the top on a clear day and being that it's the sunniest resort in Europe, that's most of the time! It also saw a change of personnel as UK superstar quad-flipping snowboarder Billy Morgan and Swiss model / TV host / ex-pipe skier Olympian Mirjam Jaeger take over for the last leg of this journey, filmed in April 2016, when most ski resorts in Europe have already shut.
Sierra Nevada made us feel very welcome and made sure we had plenty of activities during the trip, which included slushy park laps, a super-booter built especially for Billy, night-skiing and a sunset kicker session. Off the slopes was spent enjoying beers in the sun, a trip to nearby Granada to see the beautiful Alhambra Palace, and even a beach trip for wake-boarding & stand-up-paddle boarding!
It's all looking good for the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada - if you get a chance to check it out, we'd recommend it!

The third and final part of EpicTV's #EpicSpainShred was a late spring trip to Europe's most southerly ski resort of Sierra Nevada in Andalucia - you can even see Morocco from the top on a clear day and being that it's the sunniest resort in Europe, that's most of the time! It also saw a change of personnel as UK superstar quad-flipping snowboarder Billy Morgan and Swiss model / TV host / ex-pipe skier Olympian Mirjam Jaeger take over for the last leg of this journey, filmed in April 2016, when most ski resorts in Europe have already shut.
Sierra Nevada made us feel very welcome and made sure we had plenty of activities during the trip, which included slushy park laps, a super-booter built especially for Billy, night-skiing and a sunset kicker session. Off the slopes was spent enjoying beers in the sun, a trip to nearby Granada to see the beautiful Alhambra Palace, and even a beach trip for wake-boarding & stand-up-paddle boarding!
It's all looking good for the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships 2017 World Championships in Sierra Nevada - if you get a chance to check it out, we'd recommend it!
