What is the Twelve Step Model? How is it a "treatment for alcoholism" or "alcohol abuse?"
From Wikipedia: "A twelve-step program is a set of guiding principles (accepted by members as 'spiritual principles,' based on the approved literature) outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioral problems. Originally proposed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) as a method of recovery from alcoholism, the Twelve Steps were first published in the book Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More Than One Hundred Men Have Recovered from Alcoholism in 1939. The method was then adapted and became the foundation of other twelve-step programs. Twelve-step methods have been adopted to address a wide range of substance-abuse and dependency problems."

"Addiction treatment" WORKS! There is addiction help out there and "addiction recovery" is possible. If you are battling "alcohol addiction" there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her "alcohol abuse treatment." "Substance abuse" is a very serious condition. Many need inpatient stays or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with substance abuse issues. Help IS out there! :)

This vlog is about my experiences going to Alcoholics Anonymous for the first time.
I hope you guys can relate with some of my stories and reflections about going to AA and trying to stay sober.
I had some of the best times of my life while drinking, but my life still eventually became unmanageable. As a result I lost many relationships but hope to gain new ones through AA as well as through YouTube.
I am now 98 days sober and I know that it is because of the way I have been working the program. I will always love alcohol but I have begun to love myself even more now that I have been sober.
I hope to encourage some of you (if that is why you are searching for this topic) to try it for yourself. Hopefully through watching these vlogs you can get a better idea of what it can be like.
This is my very first vlog and lighting in my room sucks btw... ill get better :)

Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international mutual aid fellowship founded in 1935 (two years after the end of Prohibition in the United States in December 1933) by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. AA stated "primary purpose" is to help alcoholics "stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety". With other early members Bill Wilson and Bob Smith developed AA's Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development. AA's initial Twelve Traditions were introduced in 1946 to help the fellowship be stable and unified while disengaged from "outside issues" and influences.
The Traditions recommend that members and groups remain anonymous in public media, altruistically helping other alcoholics and avoiding official affiliations with other organization. The Traditions also recommend that those representing AA avoid dogma and coercive hierarchies. Subsequent fellowships such as Narcotics Anonymous have adopted and adapted the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions to their respective primary purposes.

Joe Rogan
Joseph James "Joe" Rogan (born August 11, 1967) is an American podcaster, sports commentator, and stand up comedian. Rogan is the host of his own podcast titled The Joe Rogan Experience, a weekly talk show where he converses with people from various backgrounds. Also a comedian, he began performing stand up comedy in 1989 and still performs regular tours to this day. Rogan has worked for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) since 1997, and is now a color commentator for the promotion. In addition, Rogan has had roles on the television sitcoms Hardball and NewsRadio and was the host of reality shows Fear Factor and Joe Rogan Questions Everything.
Early life
Rogan was born in Newark, New Jersey. He was raised in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts until age seven, followed by San Francisco, California until age 11, and then Gainesville, Florida. He is of one quarter Irish and three quarters Italian descent. Rogan's father, a police officer in Newark, has not been in contact with him since Rogan was six years old. He briefly attended the University of Massachusetts Boston.

This vlog is about my experiences going to Alcoholics Anonymous for the first time. I hope you guys can relate with some of my stories and reflections about going to AA and trying to stay sober. I had some of the best times of my life while drinking, but my life still eventually became unmanageable. As a result I lost many relationships but hope to gain new ones through AA as well as through YouTube. I am now 98 days sober and I know that it is because of the way I have been working the program. I will always love alcohol but I have begun to love myself even more now that I have been sober. I hope to encourage some of you (if that is why you are searching for this topic) to try it for yourself. Hopefully through watching these vlogs you can get a better idea of what it can be like. This is my very first vlog and lighting in my room sucks btw... ill get better :) -

This vlog is about my experiences going to Alcoholics Anonymous for the first time.
I hope you guys can relate with some of my stories and reflections about going to AA and trying to stay sober.
I had some of the best times of my life while drinking, but my life still eventually became unmanageable. As a result I lost many relationships but hope to gain new ones through AA as well as through YouTube.
I am now 98 days sober and I know that it is because of the way I have been working the program. I will always love alcohol but I have begun to love myself even more now that I have been sober.
I hope to encourage some of you (if that is why you are searching for this topic) to try it for yourself. Hopefully through watching these vlogs you can get a better idea of what it can be like.
This is my very first vlog and lighting in my room sucks btw... ill get better :)

What is the Twelve Step Model? How is it a "treatment for alcoholism" or "alcohol abuse?"

I hope you guys can relate with some of my stories and reflections about going to AA and trying to stay sober.
I had some of the best times of my life while drinking, but my life still eventually became unmanageable. As a result I lost many relationships but hope to gain new ones through AA as well as through YouTube.
I am now 98 days sober and I know that it is because of the way I have been working the program. I will always love alcohol but I have begun to love myself even more now that I have been sober.
I hope to encourage some of you (if that is why you are searching for this topic) to try it for yourself. Hopefully through watching these vlogs you can get a better idea of what it can be like.

What is the Twelve Step Model? How is it a "treatment for alcoholism" or "alcohol abuse?"
From Wikipedia: "A twelve-step program is a set of guiding principles (accepted by members as 'spiritual principles,' based on the approved literature) outlining a course of action for recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioral problems. Originally proposed by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) as a method of recovery from alcoholism, the Twelve Steps were first published in the book Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How More Than One Hundred Men Have Recovered from Alcoholism in 1939. The method was then adapted and became the foundation of other twelve-step programs. Twelve-step methods have been adopted to address a wide range of substance-abuse and dependency problems."

it will break down their egos. Only then could he use the other "medicine"--the ethical principles he had picked up from the Oxford Groups.
During a business venture in Akron, Ohio, Wilson was tempted to drink and realized he must talk to another alcoholic to stay sober. He phoned local ministers to ask if they knew any alcoholics.
Norman Sheppard directed him to Oxford member Henrietta Seiberling, whose group had been trying to help a desperate alcoholic named Dr. Bob Smith. -----

Dr Silkworth believed Bill Wilson was making a mistake by telling new converts of his "Hot Flash" conversion and trying to apply the Oxford Group's principles. He advised Wilson of the need to deflate the alcoholic.
He told Wilson to give them the medical business, and give it to them hard: tell them of the obsession that condemns them to drink and the physical sensitivity that condemns them to go mad or die. If it comes from another alcoholic,
it will break down their egos. Only then could he use the other "medicine"--the ethical principles he had picked up from the Oxford Groups.
During a business venture in Akron, Ohio, Wilson was tempted to drink and realized he must talk to another alcoholic to stay sober. He phoned local ministers to ask if they knew any alcoholics.
Norman Sheppard directed him to Oxford member Henrietta Seiberling, whose group had been trying to help a desperate alcoholic named Dr. Bob Smith. -----
