Chino cloth

Chino cloth (/ˌtʃiːnoʊ/ CHEE-noh) is a twill fabric, originally made of 100% cotton. The most common items made from it, trousers, are widely called chinos. Today it is also found in cotton-synthetic blends.

Developed in the mid-19th century for British and French military uniforms, it has since migrated into civilian wear. Trousers of such a fabric gained popularity in the U.S. when Spanish–American War veterans returned from the Philippines with their twill military trousers.

Etymology

The etymology of the term chino is disputed. Some sources identify the root as the American Spanish language word chino, which translated literally means toasted. Because the cloth itself was originally manufactured in China, the name of the trousers may have come from the country of origin.

History

First designed to be used in the military and then taken up by civilians, chino fabric was originally made to be simple, hard-wearing and comfortable for soldiers to wear; the use of natural earth-tone colors also began the move towards camouflage, instead of the brightly colored tunics used prior. The British and then American armies started wearing it as standard during the latter half of the 1800s.

Reise, Reise

Reise, Reise (German pronunciation: [ʁaɪzə, ʁaɪzə], a German wake-up call, literally "(a)rise, (a)rise", although it can also be interpreted as meaning "journey, journey", or as a command "travel, travel") is Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein's fourth studio album. It was released on September 27, 2004 in Germany and followed shortly by its release across Europe. It was released in North America on November 16, 2004. The album was recorded in a span of two years at El Cortijo Studios in Málaga, Spain. It was produced by the band themselves along with Swedish record producer Jacob Hellner. The album charted in the top ten in several European charts and was a number one hit in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Finland, Estonia and Mexico. As of February 2006, the album has shipped 1.5 million copies globally.

Recording

The album was recorded in Spain (El Cortijo Studio, Malaga) and produced by Jacob Hellner and Rammstein. The band recorded several songs during the sessions for "Reise, Reise" which were omitted from the album's final track listing and were later released on their follow-up album Rosenrot. Los (rapper)

Carlos Coleman (born March 23, 1982) is an American rapper, singer, and record producer, better known by his stage name Los or King Los. Los has released various mixtapes during his career including The Crown Ain't Safe and Becoming King to critical acclaim. He originally signed to Bad Boy Records during the 2005 in conjunction with his Bloc Incorporated record deal. After his deal fell through when Bloc folded, he returned to releasing music independently. Los signed to Diddy's Bad Boy Records again in February 2012, which is now distributed by Interscope Records. However, on March 19, 2014, he would announce that he was again leaving Bad Boy and Interscope. He is currently signed to After Platinum, 88 Classic and RCA.

Musical career

1999–2010: Beginnings and building buzz

As a 16-year-old high school student, Los, began writing poetry and literature to deal with the pain of losing his father to murder. At 18 he started rapping, when he would participate in the local Baltimore battle rap scene, He cites Eminem, Nas, Big L, Big Pun and Canibus as his top emcees and influences to his style. Right out of high school in 2002, Los auditioned for Diddy's Making the Band 2, but after being selected to appear on the show, he refused to sign any of the paperwork required, so he was unable to appear on it. As fate would have it, Los would end up signed to Bad Boy Records in 2005, through Bloc Incorporated a local Baltimore record label. His signing to Bad Boy came after he auditioned for Diddy with a 10-minute freestyle. However, Bloc Incorporated eventually disbanded due to a legal issue and Los lost his deal in 2008, before he was able to release an album.

Los 80

Los 80 was a Chilean drama TV series for Canal 13 produced to celebrate the Bicentennial of Chile, starring Daniel Muñoz, Tamara Acosta, Daniel Alcaíno, Loreto Aravena, Tomás Verdejo and Lucas Escobar. The series is inspired by the Spanish series of the same name released in 2004, but focusing on the events in Chile. The series was renewed for a seventh and last season that aired in Spring-Summer 2014,

Plot

The series, starring Daniel Muñoz and Tamara Acosta, tells the story of the Herreras, a middle-class family living in Santiago of Chile. The plot is set between 1982 and 1989, in the military dictatorship, and revolves around historical events during the 80's, especially the economic crisis of 1982 and the 8.0 magnitude earthquake in Santiago.

Reset (computing)

In a computer or data transmission system, a reset clears any pending errors or events and brings a system to normal condition or an initial state, usually in a controlled manner. It is usually done in response to an error condition when it is impossible or undesirable for a processing activity to proceed and all error recovery mechanisms fail. A computer storage program would normally perform a "reset" if a command times out and error recovery schemes like retry or abort also fail.

Most computers have a reset line that brings the device into the startup state and is active for a short time after powering on. For example, in the x86 architecture, asserting the RESET line halts the CPU; this is done after the system is switched on and before the power supply has asserted "power good" to indicate that it is ready to supply stable voltages at sufficient power levels. Reset places less stress on the hardware than power cycling, as the power is not removed. Many computers, especially older models, have user accessible "reset" buttons that assert the reset line to facilitate a system reboot in a way that cannot be trapped (i.e. prevented) by the operating system. Out-of-band management also frequently provides the possibility to reset the remote system in this way.
