Granada (/ɡrəˈnɑːdə/, Spanish: [ɡɾaˈnaða], locally: [ɡɾaˈnaː, -ˈnaða]) is a city and the capital of the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, at the confluence of four rivers, the Beiro, the Darro, the Genil and the Monachil. It sits at an average elevation of 738 metres above sea level, yet is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical. Nearby is the Sierra Nevada Ski Station, where the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1996 were held.
In the 2005 national census, the population of the city of Granada proper was 236,982, and the population of the entire urban area was estimated to be 472,638, ranking as the 13th-largest urban area of Spain. About 3.3% of the population did not hold Spanish citizenship, the largest number of these people (31%; or 1% of the total population) coming from South America. Its nearest airport is Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport.
André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (born 1 October 1949) is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Together they have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts. For his work, Rieu has been awarded such honours as the Order of the Netherlands Lion by the Netherlands, the Knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France, and the Honorary Medal by his native Province of Limburg.
Rieu began studying violin at the age of five. He created the Maastricht Salon Orchestra in 1978, and went on to create the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1988.
The name Rieu is of French Huguenot origin. Rieu's father, of the same name, was conductor of the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra. Showing early promise, André began studying violin at the age of five. From a very young age, he developed a fascination with orchestra. He studied violin at the Conservatoire Royal in Liège and at the Conservatorium Maastricht, (1968–1973), studying under Jo Juda and Herman Krebbers. From 1974 to 1977, he attended the Music Academy in Brussels, studying with André Gertler, finally receiving his degree "Premier Prix" from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Woody Allen (born Allan Stewart Konigsberg, December 1, 1935) is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker and playwright, whose career spans more than five decades.
He worked as a comedy writer in the 1950s, writing jokes and scripts for television and publishing several books of short humor pieces. In the early 1960s, Allen began performing as a stand-up comedian, emphasizing monologues rather than traditional jokes. As a comedian, he developed the persona of an insecure, intellectual, fretful nebbish, which he maintains is quite different from his real-life personality. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked Allen in fourth place on a list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians, while a UK survey ranked Allen as the third greatest comedian.
By the mid-1960s Allen was writing and directing films, first specializing in slapstick comedies before moving into dramatic material influenced by European art cinema during the 1970s, and alternating between comedies and dramas to the present. He is often identified as part of the New Hollywood wave of filmmakers of the mid-1960s to late 1970s. Allen often stars in his films, typically in the persona he developed as a standup. Some best-known of his over 40 films are Annie Hall (1977), Manhattan (1979), and Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), although he considers Stardust Memories (1980), The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), and Match Point (2005) to be his best films. Critic Roger Ebert described Allen as "a treasure of the cinema."
Google Play or Google Play Store, and originally the Android Market, is a digital distribution platform operated by Google. It serves as the official app store for the Android operating system, allowing users to browse and download applications developed with the Android SDK and published through Google. Google Play also serves as a digital media store, offering music, magazines, books, movies, and television programs. It previously offered Google hardware devices for purchase until the introduction of a separate online hardware retailer, Google Store, on March 11, 2015.
Applications are available through Google Play either free of charge or at a cost. They can be downloaded directly to an Android or Google TV device through the Play Store mobile app, or by deploying the application to a device from the Google Play website. Many applications can be targeted to specific users based on a particular hardware attribute of their device, such as a motion sensor (for motion-dependent games) or a front-facing camera (for online video calling).

Unaired Woody Allen interview from 1971. Woody refuses to give a truthful answer to any question, yet continues the interview for nearly 40 minutes (perhaps longer, given that other footage aired). Talk about rarities - this is as rare as you can get. This is never-broadcast footage of Woody Allen being interviewed by Granada TV in Manchester in 1971 while he was in the UK to promote 'Bananas' - and it's very funny.

All clips in this video were recorded during the past 2012. This project was supposed to be finished some months ago. Now, i found the best soundtrack really motivated myself to finish it. It isn't the best video i ever made until now but it's have many feelings that i miss from Granada. The ones you can find it if you decided to travel there, visit there or.. who know, maybe live ;) One of the most beautiful cities around the world. Thanks to all my friend supported me when they talked to me and i was absorbed behind the camera, trying to learn basic in photo and video; and finding my way to discover a new city: Madrid. Music by Alt-J
My third timelapse movie is about Granada - beautiful city in Southern-Spain where i'm currently studying. Although I have 3 months to go, i'm already miss this place. Technically speaking. There's about 1300 photos, more-or-less 10 photos per second with little fade-ins and -outs and zooms. This film was highly educative, because I did some major mistakes and I know what to avoid next time. Music is, again, composed by me. Because Granada is very highly known by guitars and flamenco, I took guitar as my main instrument with some flamenco and arabic musical motives. Because the sky was very dark this day, I added some dark drones with big orchestral bass drum kicks and rolls + added some piano to have some mystery feeling.

Since the 7th century B.C., Iberians, Romans and West Goths had settled in Granada but it was during the Arab rule that the city first gained prominence. Sixty thousand Muslims once lived in the old Moorish city complex on the hill above the ancient district of Albaicin. Granada has a truly unique and captivating atmosphere, one that has inspired poets, musicians and countless travelers from all over the world. A lively and contemporary university city, at the same time it is the guardian of an historic past that draws in a multitude of tourists keen to experience its special charm. Travel video about destination Alhambra in Spain. Built during the 13th and 14th centuries, the Alhambra is a group of buildings that overlook Granada. The finest example of Moorish architecture, it was a magnificent citadel for the Moorish kings of Spain. When the Moors were expelled from Spain the citadel was mutilated but in the 19th century it was restored to its former glory.Close by is the Palacio Del Generalife, the summer residence of the Moorish rulers the grounds of which contain fabulous gardens. The Moors were a nomadic North African people consisting mainly of Arabs and Berbers. They invaded Spain in the 8th century and were expelled from it in the early 17th century, prior to which most had been exterminated during the Spanish Inquisition. Yet their contribution to Spain in t...
Granada's dominant sight is the Alhambra, the last and greatest Moorish palace. For two centuries, until 1492, Granada reigned as the capital of a dwindling Moorish empire. As Christian forces pushed the Moors farther and farther south, this palace was the last hurrah of a sophisticated civilization. BOOK DESCRIPTION: Andalucia is the quintessence of Spain and yet, historically and culturally, it is surprisingly unlike the rest of the country. Its literary history began to develop with the Romans and reached an early flowering when Arabic poets drew on centuries of literary tradition, together with the landscapes and passions of Moorish Spain. Later, Prosper Mérimée, Byron and Washington Irving forged legends of exotic southern Spain that persist to this day and Spanish writers themselves captured the rich passions of Andalucian culture, from Cervantes' Seville to Lorca's 'hidden Andalucia'. With the advent of the Civil War, a new generation flocked to Andalucia and were inspired to write some of the Twentieth Century's most iconic works of literature, from Hemingway's For Whom the Bel...
Granada, tierra soñada por mí;
mi cantar se vuelve gitano cuando es para ti;
