Dramatic moment officers use police van door to barge brazen thief off a Boris bike after catching him raiding a Range Rover in broad daylight
Jake Nedd broke into a Range Rover in Dawes Road, Fulham, and stole items
Police were called to the scene where houses sell for upwards of £1.2 million
They gave chase, knocked him off his bike with a van door and arrested him
A brazen thief was knocked off his Boris bike by a policeman's van door after CCTV footage caught him stealing from a Range Rover.
Jake Nedd, 31, was filmed raiding a black Range Rover parked outside a row of terraced houses in Dawes Road, Fulham, west London, where houses sell for upwards of £1.2 million, last Sunday.
Footage shows the criminal, who broke into the car after noticing the window was open, taking several items from the car before fleeing the scene laden with bags from the boot and front of the vehicle.
But shortly after he starts to cycle away, police are seen tearing down the street with their lights flashing.
Nedd begins retreating down the street but officers give chase and swing open their door, sending the thief flying over the handlebars.
Following the attempted theft just after 8.30am, Nedd, of no fixed address, appeared before Westminster Magistrates and was jailed for 28 weeks in prison.
Deputy leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council Councillor Sue Fennimore said: 'This is another excellent piece of joint work by our CCTV team and the police.
'We're determined to stop crime and protect public safety which is why we've put the highest-ever number of council-funded police officers on the street in the borough's history.'
Dave Hinton, crime prevention design adviser for the Met Police, said: 'In most cases car crime is committed by opportunists who often take less than a minute to get into a vehicle.
'Please ensure you leave no valuables on display and always lock your car and close the windows, even if only away from the vehicle for a moment.'
THIS is the dramatic moment a heroic cop used his police van door to knock a thief off his Boris bike before taking him into custody.
Jake Nedd, 31, had raided a black Range Rover parked outside a row of £1.2million terraced houses before fleeing the scene laden with bags from the boot and front of the vehicle.
A thief who tried to make a quick getaway using Boris bike after stealing possessions from a 4x4 car has been jailed after he was rammed and stopped by a police van door.
In broad daylight, 31-year-old Jake Nedd broke into a black Range Rover outside a row of houses in Fulham, West London, and helped himself to bags from the boot.
He had been alerted to the car after biking past and seeing its passenger window down, GetWestLondon reports .
In the CCTV footage the offender can then be seen riding a Boris bike with the Santander logo away when a police van speeds into shot.

Barge
A barge is a flat-bottomed boat, built mainly for river and canal transport of heavy goods. Some barges are not self-propelled and need to be towed or pushed by towboats. Etymology
Barge is attested from 1300, from Old French barge, from Vulgar Latin barga. The word originally could refer to any small boat; the modern meaning arose around 1480. Bark "small ship" is attested from 1420, from Old French barque, from Vulgar Latin barca (400 AD). The more precise meaning "three-masted ship" arose in the 17th century, and often takes the French spelling for disambiguation. Both are probably derived from the Latin barica, from Greek baris "Egyptian boat", from Coptic bari "small boat", hieroglyphic Egyptian
and similar ba-y-r for "basket-shaped boat". By extension, the term "embark" literally means to board the kind of boat called a "barque".

Santander Cycles
Santander Cycles is a public bicycle hire scheme in London, United Kingdom. The scheme's bicycles are popularly known as Boris Bikes, after Boris Johnson, who was the Mayor of London when the scheme was launched.
The operation of the scheme is contracted by Transport for London to Serco. The scheme is sponsored, with Santander UK being the main sponsor from April 2015.Barclays Bank was the first sponsor from 2010 to March 2015, when the service was branded as Barclays Cycle Hire.
Credit for developing and enacting the scheme has been a source of debate. Johnson has taken credit for the plan, although the initial concept was announced by his predecessor Ken Livingstone, during the latter's term in office. Livingstone has said that the programme would herald a "cycling and walking transformation in London" and Johnson said that he "hoped the bikes would become as common as black cabs and red buses in the capital".
A study showed cyclists using the scheme are three times less likely to be injured per trip than cyclists in London as a whole, possibly due to motorists giving cycle hire users more road space than they do other cyclists. Moreover, recent customer research showed that 49 per cent of Cycle Hire members say that the scheme has prompted them to start cycling in London.

Range Rover
The Range Rover is a full size luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle (SUV) also with extensive off road capabilities, produced by British car maker Land Rover, and serves as its flagship model. Land Rover is one of several auto manufacturers owned by Tata, the Indian multinational conglomerate Tata Group. The Range Rover was launched in 1970, and created a new space in the automotive world. It is now in its fourth generation. Land Rover has expanded the Range Rover model line to include two different designs: the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport that derive core styling, brand identity and breadth of capability from the current Range Rover model.
History
The Rover Company (the creator of the Land Rover marque) had been experimenting with a larger model than the Land Rover Series as far back as 1951, when the Rover P4-based two-wheel-drive "Road Rover" project was developed by Gordon Bashford. This was shelved in 1958, and the idea lay dormant until 1966, when engineers Spen King and Bashford set to work on a new model.

[ SHIP WORLD SERIES ] TUG - BARGE
⚓️A tug (tugboat) is a boat or ship that maneuvers vessels by pushing or towing them. Tugs move vessels that either should not move by themselves, such as ships in a crowded harbor or a narrow canal, or those that could not move by themselves, such as barges, disabled ships, log rafts, or oil platforms. A barge is a flat-bottomed boat, built mainly for river and canal transport of heavy goods. Some barges are not self-propelled and must be towed or pushed by towboats. Canal barges, towed by draft animals on an adjacent towpath, contended with the railway in the early Industrial Revolution, but were outcompeted in the carriage of high-value items due to the higher speed, falling costs and route flexibility of railways. A brazen thief was knocked off his Boris bike by a policeman's van door after CCTV footage caught him stealing from a Range Rover.
Jake Nedd, 31, was filmed raiding a black Range Rover parked outside a row of terraced houses in Dawes Road, Fulham, west London, where houses sell for upwards of £1.2 million, last Sunday.
Footage shows the criminal, who broke into the car after noticing the window was open, taking several items from the car before fleeing the scene laden with bags from the boot and front of the vehicle.
But shortly after he starts to cycle away, police are seen tearing down the street with their lights flashing.
Nedd begins retreating down the street but officers give chase and swing open their door, sending the thief flying over the handlebars.
Following the attempted theft just after 8.30am, Nedd, of no fixed address, appeared before Westminster Magistrates and was jailed for 28 weeks in prison.
Deputy leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council Councillor Sue Fennimore said: 'This is another excellent piece of joint work by our CCTV team and the police.
'We're determined to stop crime and protect public safety which is why we've put the highest-ever number of council-funded police officers on the street in the borough's history.'
Dave Hinton, crime prevention design adviser for the Met Police, said: 'In most cases car crime is committed by opportunists who often take less than a minute to get into a vehicle.
'Please ensure you leave no valuables on display and always lock your car and close the windows, even if only away from the vehicle for a moment.'

He had been alerted to the car after biking past and seeing its passenger window down, GetWestLondon reports .

Jake Nedd broke into a Range Rover in Dawes Road, Fulham, and stole items
Police were called to the scene where houses sell for upwards of £1.2 million
They gave chase, knocked him off his bike with a van door and arrested him
A brazen thief was knocked off his Boris bike by a policeman's van door after CCTV footage caught him stealing from a Range Rover.
Jake Nedd, 31, was filmed raiding a black Range Rover parked outside a row of terraced houses in Dawes Road, Fulham, west London, where houses sell for upwards of £1.2 million, last Sunday.
Footage shows the criminal, who broke into the car after noticing the window was open, taking several items from the car before fleeing the scene laden with bags from the boot and front of the vehicle.
But shortly after he starts to cycle away, police are seen tearing down the street with their lights flashing.
Nedd begins retreating down the street but officers give chase and swing open their door, sending the thief flying over the handlebars.
Following the attempted theft just after 8.30am, Nedd, of no fixed address, appeared before Westminster Magistrates and was jailed for 28 weeks in prison.
Deputy leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council Councillor Sue Fennimore said: 'This is another excellent piece of joint work by our CCTV team and the police.
'We're determined to stop crime and protect public safety which is why we've put the highest-ever number of council-funded police officers on the street in the borough's history.'
Dave Hinton, crime prevention design adviser for the Met Police, said: 'In most cases car crime is committed by opportunists who often take less than a minute to get into a vehicle.
'Please ensure you leave no valuables on display and always lock your car and close the windows, even if only away from the vehicle for a moment.'
THIS is the dramatic moment a heroic cop used his police van door to knock a thief off his Boris bike before taking him into custody.
Jake Nedd, 31, had raided a black Range Rover parked outside a row of £1.2million terraced houses before fleeing the scene laden with bags from the boot and front of the vehicle.
A thief who tried to make a quick getaway using Boris bike after stealing possessions from a 4x4 car has been jailed after he was rammed and stopped by a police van door.
In broad daylight, 31-year-old Jake Nedd broke into a black Range Rover outside a row of houses in Fulham, West London, and helped himself to bags from the boot.
He had been alerted to the car after biking past and seeing its passenger window down, GetWestLondon reports .
In the CCTV footage the offender can then be seen riding a Boris bike with the Santander logo away when a police van speeds into shot.
