TARGET AUDIENCE
This conference is intended for practicing physicians in cardiology, internal medicine and family practice as well as cardiology Fellows in Training.

LEARNER OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this conference, attendees should be able to —

• Synthesize foundational and advanced cardiovascular disease knowledge; contemporary best practices; and effective care delivery for cardiovascular prevention, evaluation and management
• Demonstrate appropriate interpretation of cardiovascular guidelines and diagnostic strategies needed in daily practice
• Demonstrate improved auscultation, ECG interpretation and clinical decision-making
• Review the global burden of cardiovascular disease and the world-wide initiatives to reduce its mortality
• Utilize appropriate therapeutic strategies in the treatment of patients with hyperlipidemia and hypertension
• Characterize the timing and expected outcomes of contemporary interventions in patients with acute coronary syndrome and valvular heart disease
• Describe the best practices in the treatment of patients with heart failure including new drugs, surgical strategies and after-discharge care strategies
• Identify the special considerations for care of the female patient including customized diagnostic and care plans

ACC Cardiology In-Training Exam

The ACC In-Training Exam is a proctored, on-line examination administered at the ACC Latin America Conference 2017. The exam features over 140 case-based questions. This is a significant opportunity for fellows and practicing physicians to test their knowledge of general cardiology.

The exam allows participants to:

• Identify areas of deficiency that require further learning
• Compare their performance with that of their peers in other training programs (in aggregate)

This exam will be held as a pre-conference opportunity on June 22, 2017.

The Power of Data: A Path to Evidence-based Excellence in Patient-care, Teaching and Research

Overview
ACC is pleased to announce the Power of Data Path (PDP) during the ACC Latin America Conference 2017. Driven by a commitment to cultivate and guide the future trailblazers of cardiovascular care, the ACC has created a unique learning experience that will challenge your understanding while awakening your commitment to the science of cardiovascular medicine. Whether you strive to improve your patient care, teaching or research abilities, understanding the language of data, including sound statistical interpretation skills, is essential.

The Power of Data Path (PDP) begins on Thursday evening with a complimentary two-hour workshop that will dust-off your statistical interpretation skills, guide you through translating evidence into practical care strategies and offer tips for writing your research abstract. Then, starting on Friday morning, a series of conference sessions, such as the Syncope and Hypertension Guideline sessions, have been selected to create a “path” for you to practice your research analysis skills. Your journey through this path will be facilitated by a companion workbook that will prompt you to consider a series of analysis and appraisal questions. Additionally, PDP faculty guides will be partnered with you as you review the presented science in the posters. These faculty guides will also be available for lunch and evening debrief sessions.

Regardless of whether you are a Fellow in Training, an Early Stage Investigator or a general cardiologist, the ACC Latin America Conference 2017 and the PDP will inspire your pursuit of excellence in care, teaching or research. Cancellations
Cancellation, substitution or transfer to another course is allowed if written notification is received four weeks before a scheduled course. A full refund minus a $50 processing fee will be given for written notifications received fewer than four weeks before the first day of the course. No refund will be given for no-shows.

ACC reserves the right to cancel the course in the unlikely event of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If a course is canceled or postponed, ACC will refund registration tuition but cannot be held responsible for other costs or expenses, including cancellation/change penalties assessed by airlines, travel agencies or hotels.

This course is endorsed by the Mexican Council of Cardiology and provides 3 CME points to Mexican practitioners.
