Rosie! is a 1967 comedy film directed by David Lowell Rich, based on Ruth Gordon's play A Very Rich Woman.
Rosie Lord (Russell) is a widowed millionaire who, much to the dismay of her daughters Mildred (Meadows) and Edith (Brown), spends her money generously. When she announces she intends to buy a $2.5 million closed theater in a run-down part of Los Angeles, because it's the location where her late husband proposed to her and it's now threatened to be turned into a parking lot, her daughters decide that they have had enough. Edith and her husband Cabot (Nielsen) complain that they are only granted $100,000 a year, and work together with cold-hearted and recently divorced Mildred to discourage Rosie from buying the theater. They are unable to convince her and her legal advisor Oliver (Aherne) to let them take care of her money, and thus decide to try to declare her incompetent, thereby hoping to put her in an insane asylum. Edith and Cabot's young daughter Daphne (Dee) is appalled to overhear the scheme, and vows to help her grandmother.

From Season 2, Episode # 21 of the Dean Martin Show, he has fun with this old Al Jolson tune. Dean's Jolson songs were some of his most humorous. Just love it. :) And this one is really old; written 116 years ago in 1900 by Edgar Smith and John Stromberg for the Musical "Fiddle-Dee-Dee". Of course it was recorded by other singers before Jolson, but Jolson's version is the most popular. The audio track came out good.
Rosie finds out that the advert she did promoting road safety is everywhere, which she thinks is tarnishing her reputation.
Rosie Casals had a memorable Wimbledon in 1967. She defeated number-two seed Maria Bueno in the fourth round 2-6 6-2 6-3, and followed up with a quarterfinal win over Judy Tegart 7-5 6-4. In the semifinals she lost a close match to Ann Jones, 2-6 6-3 7-5. Rosie won the doubles title with Billie Jean King in a 9-11 6-4 6-2 decision over defending champions Maria Bueno and Nancy Richey. Also shown in this clip is Thomas Koch's fourth round win over Charlie Pasarell, 6-4 4-6 3-6 6-4 8-6.

Sandra Dee had chemistry with all of her leading men, and here is a tribute to their work, using her films from the studio era. A few of these movies are rare so the quality of some may not be the best, so please try to overlook it. Of course, her husband Bobby Darin was her co-star in three films, as was her fellow Universal players John Saxon and John Gavin, and of course, everyone remembers her onscreen pairings with James Darren and Tr...
Here is a tribute to one of my favorite actresses Sandra Dee. Some of my favorite movies she starred in are "Summer Place", "Tammy & the Doctor" , "Tammy Tell Me True" & "Gidget". Sandra was America's sweetheart in the 50's & 60's. Looking at her life as a fan it looked like she had a pretty idyllic life, but sadly she suffered with alcoholism, anorexia & depression & was abused when she was a child which I learned about when she talked about it on the Sally Jessy Raphael show. I think it was very brave of her to talk so candidly about her problems in her personal life. It is sad that she never seemed to find the happiness she so desperately wanted. I just am so thankful she lives on in her films & music & in that way she will always live on. RIP Sandra Dee. We miss you! Song: Tammy By...
