T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty, The Statute of Limitations) is a punk rock band formed in 1978 in Long Beach, California. Although most commonly associated with hardcore punk, T.S.O.L.'s music has varied on each release, including such styles as deathrock, art punk, horror punk and other varieties of punk music.
Formed in 1978 in Long Beach, T.S.O.L. originated as a punk band, developing from earlier bands SS Cult and Johnny Koathanger and the Abortions. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Jack Grisham (who has been credited as Jack Greggors, Alex Morgon, Jack Ladoga, Jack Delauge and Jack Loyd, among pseudonyms), guitarist Ron Emory, bassist Mike Roche and drummer Todd Barnes.
Later in 1978, Grisham and Barnes formed Vicious Circle, and T.S.O.L. took a brief hiatus (in 2013, TKO Records released an eponymous Vicious Circle EP, composed of circa-1979 rehearsal tapes).
T.S.O.L.'s debut five-song EP, T.S.O.L., was released in spring 1981 by Posh Boy Records, featuring the reconvened original lineup. This first release was harshly political, featuring tracks such as "Superficial Love," "World War III" and "Abolish Government."
Los Angeles (i/lɒs ˈændʒəlᵻs/ loss AN-jə-ləs or loss AN-jə-liss) (Spanish for "The Angels"), officially the City of Los Angeles and often known by its initials L.A., is the second-largest city in the United States after New York City, the most populous city in the state of California, and the county seat of Los Angeles County.
Situated in Southern California, Los Angeles is known for its mediterranean climate, ethnic diversity, sprawling metropolis, and as a major center of the American entertainment industry. Los Angeles lies in a large coastal basin surrounded on three sides by mountains reaching up to and over 10,000 feet (3,000 m).
Historically home to the Chumash and Tongva, Los Angeles was claimed by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo for Spain in 1542 along with the rest of what would become Alta California. The city was officially founded on September 4, 1781, by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. It became a part of Mexico in 1821 following the Mexican War of Independence. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican–American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, thereby becoming part of the United States. Los Angeles was incorporated as a municipality on April 4, 1850, five months before California achieved statehood. The city experienced rapid growth with the discovery of oil.

This show was a challenge. TSOL sold out the blue lamp, and it was so packed that you could not get from one side of the club to the other. Add my equipment (3 cameras, 2 tripods and a monopod) and it was even worse. I managed to get all 3 set up (thanks to Gabi for letting me set up on the pool table). Then, when TSOL starts, this guy who let me through to set up my camera stands on a chair RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT. He;s the guy in the hat. so, not the best video due to the circumstances. Also, Agelos (who does most of my edits) thought he did a poor job editing. I think it looks great, given the circumstances. Thanks Agelos, and Thanks Jason for the great audio. Thanks to Brian McKenna for bringing some ROCK to town (rather than those beard/jam bands :-)) One last note- it was so hot & hum...
#punkinspired ... See more of Fender's tribute to punk here: http://bit.ly/Fender-Punk-YT2 As a teen, Mike Roche of SoCal old-school band T.S.O.L. just didn't feel a connection to rock bands like Led Zeppelin or Aerosmith. While other kids would come to school talking about Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic, Roche was more interested in surfing. Until, that is, bands like DEVO and the Clash crossed his radar. "Punk rock was the first thing that was like 'Wow, that’s weird, that’s different, that’s cool,' and then later you realize maybe it’s something you can be a part of because everybody there isn’t this prodigy or this mathematical genius who plays guitar," said Roche. "It wasn’t such a mystifying thing – you could just go do it." More from our interview with Roche at http://bit.ly/MikeR...

*Don't watch if easily offended* Ok now hehe Does anyone even remember this? This was a funny video interview that was included on the "Divided We Stand" cd by TSOL. I always thought TSOL was just one of the coolest bands ever and certainly a band with a varied history (I didn't like that glam rock shit because well obvious...and also none of the original members were even in the band at one time). I haven't watched this in many years, but it's still pretty funny. Jack really goes off on things. My favorite was always when he talked about doing his taxes in crayon and how he only waters his yard and that's it. There are tons of funny and sarcastic (?) answers. Jack just doesn't care.
