The ASCVD Risk Estimator is published jointly by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to help health care providers and patients estimate 10-year and lifetime risks for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using the Pooled Cohort Equations and lifetime risk prediction tools. This app is intended as a companion tool to the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Assessment of Cardiovascular Risk and the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Treatment of Blood Cholesterol to Reduce Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Risk in Adults.

The ACC’s CardioSmart Heart Explorer App has been revamped with the goal of furthering the clinician/patient relationship at the point of care. Newly enhanced high-resolution cardiac graphics and animations are designed to help effectively review and discuss common heart problems and treatment options with patients. New to the app, heart failure and atrial fibrillation information can be emailed directly to patients through the app. The app is now available for

The ACC CathPCI Bleeding Risk Calculator App helps clinicians assess the individualized patient risk of experiencing a bleeding event associated with a PCI procedure. Clinicians can compare individual patient risk to the national average based on data from the CathPCI Registry®. The ACC DAPT Risk Calculator App provides decision support for clinicians evaluating the continuation of DAPT therapy for patients at least 12 months post-PCI procedure, and the risk/benefit of continuing or discontinuing DAPT. The App provides a DAPT Risk Score as a numerical value between -2 and +9, where higher DAPT scores suggest that the benefit/risk ratio with prolonged DAPT may be favorable. Conversely, lower DAPT scores suggest that the benefit/risk ratio with prolonged DAPT is NOT favorable. It also calculates the percentage of risk for three end points: myocardial infarction (MI), stent thrombosis, major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), and bleeding.
The FOCUS App is a decision support tool for clinicians that helps guide and improve appropriate ordering of cardiovascular imaging and tests. The app provides official ACC Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) ratings and decision algorithms for SPECT MPI, PET, stress echo and CTA to drive clinical decision making for your patient. It automatically calculates risk and pretest probability based on the patient's age, gender and clinical risk factors to derive accurate AUC ratings. The app is currently available for use on iPad.

The ICD/CRT Appropriate Use Criteria App provides decision and documentation support for clinicians assessing the suitability of ICD implantation and CRT. After selecting ICD or CRT as the intended therapy, clinicians will enter a patient’s LVEF and NYHA class to:
Obtain an appropriate use rating for ICD/CRT
View the likelihood of CMS coverage for the patient receiving an ICD
Produce a summary of patient inputs and advice for email.

The ACC Statin Intolerance App guides clinicians through the process of managing and treating patients who report muscle symptoms while on statin therapy. Clinicians can use the app to evaluate possible intolerance to a patient’s current statin prescription, follow steps to manage and treat a patient who reports muscle symptoms on a statin, and compare statin characteristics and drug interactions to inform management of LDL-related risk.
