Moonlight is an American paranormal romance television drama created by Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson, who was also executive producer for all episodes with Joel Silver, Gerard Bocaccio, Gabrielle Stanton and Harry Werksman. The series follows private investigator Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), who was turned into a vampire by his bride Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon) on the couple's wedding night fifty-five years earlier. In the present day, he struggles with his attraction to a mortal woman, Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), his friendship with Josef Kostan (Jason Dohring), and his dealings with other vampires in Los Angeles.
The series was commissioned by Warner Bros. Television in 2007 as a presentation lasting 14–20 minutes. Alex O'Loughlin, Shannon Lucio, Rade Šerbedžija and Amber Valletta were cast in the lead roles, and Rod Holcomb was hired as director. David Greenwalt joined the staff in May 2007 as showrunner and executive producer with Joel Silver; however, health reasons forced Greenwalt to leave the series. All of the original actors, apart from the male lead role, were recast in June 2007, and Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon replaced them. With an almost entirely different cast, a retooled, full-length pilot for television audiences was re-shot.
Moonlight is the debut release and extended play by American electropop project Candy Coded. It was released on iTunes and other media outlets on September 15, 2015.
The first single from the extended play, "Midnight Moonlight", was also released on September 15, 2015.
Moonlight was produced solely by Sam Antonioli and Joseph Birdsong is credited to have written every song. Candy Coded announced the title and released date of their debut extended play on September 3, 2015. Birdsong unveiled the artwork via Instagram on September 10, 2015. The cover was taken from the music video for "Midnight Moonlight".
On making the extended play, the duo said that they took a lot of breaks due to other commitments and wanting to go at their own pace. Antonioli was in favor of this saying that, "Sometimes when I’m mixing through a song and I’ve heard it three hundred times, [Birdsong's] voice just turns into another instrument to me, I forget there is meaning in the things that [he's] saying… So after a couple of months of not listening to these songs and coming back to them, Joe and I both had this reaction of just like, 'this sounds really good,' I forgot how good this was and I’m listening to the lyrics again thinking, 'wow, this actually makes sense’." He also said that “the songs morphed and moved with [him] through ups and downs” in his life. Birdsong praised Antonioli by saying, “I definitely think this is some of [the] best, if not [the] best, music work you have ever done.” Antonioli reciprocated saying that, "the lyrics are such a wonderful contrast to the music."

I really wanna spend my life with you
It's like it's that I can't deny
It's like I wanna run away with you
It's like I wanna tell everyone
[Chorus:]
That we're leaving far far away
That we're leaving never coming back
We'll do like Peter Pan and his own world
Where we can fly and love forever yeah
Love forever yeah
I always wanna make you happy
Always wanna make you smile
I wanna count the stars in the universe
With you love
You have to know I love you
Cause I know you love me back
So go ahead and close your eyes
And tell everyone
[Chorus]
And minutes will be hours
And hours days
And before you know it we'll be very far
And then we'll scape to Rome, Egypt or France
And if someone dares to ask we'll say that
We're running very far far
We'll be far away
The World will be in your hands
We'll make the difference and
We'll say what we want
We don't care if someone cares
We're not gonna stay we're still gonna say
