The Han Dynasty began in 206 BC when a man named Liu Bang, who had been born a peasant, led a group of generals to overthrow the Qin dynasty. This started a 400-year period of prosperity—sometimes referred to as China's first golden age.
The capital of the dynasty was at Chang'an—one of the biggest cities in the world at the time. The Han dynasty saw massive territorial expansion, with China's area almost doubling.
The Han defeated the tribes to North and signed treaties with the clans to the West. This made travel safer and led to the establishment of what became known as the Silk Road. This was the trade route connecting China with the Roman Empire thousands of miles away in Europe.
The Han also saw massive cultural developments, with Confucianism—which had been suppressed under the Qin dynasty—rising to become the state philosophy of China's aristocracy. Officials were evaluated on their conduct, according to Confucian philosophy and an Imperial University was established to train them.
It was also during the Han period that Buddhism spread to China. Buddhism's emphasis on compassion and universal salvation appealed to the masses. Along with Confucianism and Taoism, Buddhism became one of China's three main religions that would dominate the faith of the Chinese people for the next two thousand years.
The Han dynasty gave rise to some of China's most well known historical figures, such as Sima Qian who wrote "The Record of the Grand Historian"—the definitive record of China's early history—and Han Xin, the general who helped Liu Bang establish the Han Dynasty.
The Han Dynasty was briefly interrupted in the year 9 AD when the nephew of the empress, Wang Mang, seized the throne. Fourteen years later, Liu Xiu—a descendant of Liu Bang—eventually toppled him. And the Han Dynasty, with 12 more emperors, continued for another two hundred years.
But like all dynasties in Chinese history, the Han could not last forever. It officially ended in the year 220 AD. Trouble at court and uprisings across the empire led to its eventual downfall. The warlord Dong Zhuo led troops into the capital kick-starting battles between various warlords.
Eventually, Cao Cao managed to establish the Wei state North of the Yangtze river. Sun Quan established the Wu state south of the Yangtze, and Liu Bei the Shu state in the west—starting a period known as the Three Kingdoms.

Part 3 of The Rise and Fall of An empire series made by CCTV of China. It analyzed the fall of the Western Han dynasty from an economic angle, and saw the pattern repeat itself for subsequent dynasty. The part about economic polarization as well as social and political consequence when wealth and power concentrate in the hand of few are scary considering how it parallels our own society.
The documentary was made for a Chinese audience originally, and contained many reference that "common knowledge" in China. However, the translation skipped most of the references, and explained thing directly, so that's why translation seems very simplistic at times.
Part 3 is the most well done of the series, and it talk about a part of history are few people outside of China knows. It also sets a pattern for future dynasties of China and serves as a warning for us today. If there is enough interest, I'll upload part 1 and part 2. Which is a more well known history of unification of China and consolidation of power and economic growth under Han Dynasty.

Discourses on Salt and Iron, which is the debate mentioned in 1:26. The notes of the debate is very widely used for political education in China since Han Dynasty. It is presently used in high school textbooks, so the program assume the audience would have some familiarity with that debate.

Wang Mang
Wang Mang (Chinese: 王莽, c. 45 BC – 6 October 23 AD), courtesy name Jujun (巨君), was a Han Dynasty official who seized the throne from the Liu family and founded the Xin (or Hsin, meaning "renewed") Dynasty (新朝), ruling AD 9–23. The Han dynasty was restored after his overthrow and his rule marks the separation between the Western Han Dynasty (before Xin) and Eastern Han Dynasty (after Xin). Some historians have traditionally viewed Wang as a usurper, while others have portrayed him as a visionary and selfless social reformer. Though a learned Confucian scholar who sought to implement the harmonious society he saw in the classics, his efforts ended in chaos.
In October of AD 23, the capital Chang'an was attacked and the imperial palace ransacked. Wang Mang died in the battle.
The Han dynasty was reestablished in AD 25 when Liu Xiu (Emperor Guangwu) took the throne.
Early life and career
Wang Mang was the son of Wang Man (王曼), the younger brother of Empress Wang Zhengjun, and his wife Qu (渠, family name unknown), born in 45 BC. Wang Man died early, while Wang Mang was young, before Emperor Cheng took the throne and his mother Empress Wang became empress dowager. Unlike most of his brothers, Wang Man did not have the opportunity to become a marquess. Empress Wang took pity on his family, and after she herself was widowed, had Qu moved to the imperial palace to live with her.

Han dynasty
The Han dynasty (Chinese: 漢朝; pinyin: Hàn cháo) was the second imperial dynasty of China, preceded by the Qin dynasty (221–207 BC) and succeeded by the Three Kingdoms period (220–280 AD). Spanning over four centuries, the Han period is considered a golden age in Chinese history. To this day, China's majority ethnic group refers to itself as the "Han people" and the Chinese script is referred to as "Han characters". It was founded by the rebel leader Liu Bang, known posthumously as Emperor Gaozu of Han, and briefly interrupted by the Xin dynasty (9–23 AD) of the former regent Wang Mang. This interregnum separates the Han dynasty into two periods: the Western Han or Former Han (206 BC – 9 AD) and the Eastern Han or Latter Han (25–220 AD).
The emperor was at the pinnacle of Han society. He presided over the Han government but shared power with both the nobility and appointed ministers who came largely from the scholarly gentry class. The Han Empire was divided into areas directly controlled by the central government using an innovation inherited from the Qin known as commanderies, and a number of semi-autonomous kingdoms. These kingdoms gradually lost all vestiges of their independence, particularly following the Rebellion of the Seven States. From the reign of Emperor Wu onward, the Chinese court officially sponsored Confucianism in education and court politics, synthesized with the cosmology of later scholars such as Dong Zhongshu. This policy endured until the fall of the Qing dynasty in AD 1911.

Preet Harpal (Punjabi: ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹਰਪਾਲ) is a Punjabi singer and actor.
Career
Preet Harpal made his debut with album Hasle Vairne Hasle in 1999. His second album Begane Taan Begane Hunde Ne makes vocals of Sad Love songs. In his acting career he debuted with film Sirphire His first film is Akh Labdi starring himself and Neeru Bajwa, which was released in 2010.

The Han Dynasty began in 206 BC when a man named Liu Bang, who had been born a peasant, led a group of generals to overthrow the Qin dynasty. This started a 400-year period of prosperity—sometimes referred to as China's first golden age.
The capital of the dynasty was at Chang'an—one of the biggest cities in the world at the time. The Han dynasty saw massive territorial expansion, with China's area almost doubling.
The Han defeated the tribes to North and signed treaties with the clans to the West. This made travel safer and led to the establishment of what became known as the Silk Road. This was the trade route connecting China with the Roman Empire thousands of miles away in Europe.
The Han also saw massive cultural developments, with Confucianism—which had been suppressed under the Qin dynasty—rising to become the state philosophy of China's aristocracy. Officials were evaluated on their conduct, according to Confucian philosophy and an Imperial University was established to train them.
It was also during the Han period that Buddhism spread to China. Buddhism's emphasis on compassion and universal salvation appealed to the masses. Along with Confucianism and Taoism, Buddhism became one of China's three main religions that would dominate the faith of the Chinese people for the next two thousand years.
The Han dynasty gave rise to some of China's most well known historical figures, such as Sima Qian who wrote "The Record of the Grand Historian"—the definitive record of China's early history—and Han Xin, the general who helped Liu Bang establish the Han Dynasty.
The Han Dynasty was briefly interrupted in the year 9 AD when the nephew of the empress, Wang Mang, seized the throne. Fourteen years later, Liu Xiu—a descendant of Liu Bang—eventually toppled him. And the Han Dynasty, with 12 more emperors, continued for another two hundred years.
But like all dynasties in Chinese history, the Han could not last forever. It officially ended in the year 220 AD. Trouble at court and uprisings across the empire led to its eventual downfall. The warlord Dong Zhuo led troops into the capital kick-starting battles between various warlords.
Eventually, Cao Cao managed to establish the Wei state North of the Yangtze river. Sun Quan established the Wu state south of the Yangtze, and Liu Bei the Shu state in the west—starting a period known as the Three Kingdoms.

The Han Dynasty began in 206 BC when a man named Liu Bang, who had been born a peasant, led a group of generals to overthrow the Qin dynasty. This started a 400-year period of prosperity—sometimes referred to as China's first golden age.
The capital of the dynasty was at Chang'an—one of the biggest cities in the world at the time. The Han dynasty saw massive territorial expansion, with China's area almost doubling.
The Han defeated the tribes to North and signed treaties with the clans to the West. This made travel safer and led to the establishment of what became known as the Silk Road. This was the trade route connecting China with the Roman Empire thousands of miles away in Europe.
The Han also saw massive cultural developments, with Confucianism—which had been suppressed under the Qin dynasty—rising to become the state philosophy of China's aristocracy. Officials were evaluated on their conduct, according to Confucian philosophy and an Imperial University was established to train them.
It was also during the Han period that Buddhism spread to China. Buddhism's emphasis on compassion and universal salvation appealed to the masses. Along with Confucianism and Taoism, Buddhism became one of China's three main religions that would dominate the faith of the Chinese people for the next two thousand years.
The Han dynasty gave rise to some of China's most well known historical figures, such as Sima Qian who wrote "The Record of the Grand Historian"—the definitive record of China's early history—and Han Xin, the general who helped Liu Bang establish the Han Dynasty.
The Han Dynasty was briefly interrupted in the year 9 AD when the nephew of the empress, Wang Mang, seized the throne. Fourteen years later, Liu Xiu—a descendant of Liu Bang—eventually toppled him. And the Han Dynasty, with 12 more emperors, continued for another two hundred years.
But like all dynasties in Chinese history, the Han could not last forever. It officially ended in the year 220 AD. Trouble at court and uprisings across the empire led to its eventual downfall. The warlord Dong Zhuo led troops into the capital kick-starting battles between various warlords.
Eventually, Cao Cao managed to establish the Wei state North of the Yangtze river. Sun Quan established the Wu state south of the Yangtze, and Liu Bei the Shu state in the west—starting a period known as the Three Kingdoms.

Part 3 of The Rise and Fall of An empire series made by CCTV of China. It analyzed the fall of the Western Han dynasty from an economic angle, and saw the pattern repeat itself for subsequent dynasty. The part about economic polarization as well as social and political consequence when wealth and power concentrate in the hand of few are scary considering how it parallels our own society.
The documentary was made for a Chinese audience originally, and contained many reference that "common knowledge" in China. However, the translation skipped most of the references, and explained thing directly, so that's why translation seems very simplistic at times.
Part 3 is the most well done of the series, and it talk about a part of history are few people outside of China knows. It also sets a pattern for future dynasties of China and serves as a warning for us today. If there is enough interest, I'll upload part 1 and part 2. Which is a more well known history of unification of China and consolidation of power and economic growth under Han Dynasty.

Tập 8 chương trình “Tài năng DJ” trong khuôn khổ Bán kết 2 với thử thách Tốc Độ và chủ đề “Âm nhạc Việt Nam” vừa lên sóng trên kênh VTV9 vào lúc 21h10 ngày 01/7/2016. 15 thí sinh được chia thành 5 nhóm, mỗi nhóm gồm 3 thí sinh và có tổng là 9 phút thi đấu trên sân khấu. Trong đêm thi này sẽ có 1 thí sinh phải ra về.
Bộ ba thí sinh Nguyễn Nhạc – Pink – Mie mở màn đêm thi
Nguyễn Nhạc, Pink và Mie mang cùng tâm trạng hồi hộp khi mở màn đêm thi. Nếu như Nguyễn Nhạc gây ấn tượng với “Mắt nai cha cha cha” cùng phần beat khá lạ tuy không có melody thì thí sinh Mie chọn bản mix của Tiên Tiên là “My everything” khá chuẩn. Trong khi đó Pink lại bị GK Hoàng Touliver nhận xét về set nhạc dường như bị gặp lỗi khi chuyển bài cũng như phần mở đầu “Sâu trong em”, tempo đẩy hơi cao nên set nhạc nghe không được tròn trịa. Số điểm dành cho Nguyễn Nhạc là 27.5 điểm, Pink là 26.5 điểm và Mie 28 điểm.

Khi bắt đầu phần thi, PiA tỏ ra sợ hãi và mang tinh thần thi đấu không được tốt. Tuy nhiên đây là tiết mục mà DJ Wang Trần cực hài lòng. GK Hoàng Touliver lại cho rằng bộ 3 Shaya, Crany và PiA chưa biết cách ghép khuôn khổ nhạc lại với nhau và chưa biết cách drop bản nhạc lại để gọn hơn. Nên sử dụng ít giai điệu cũng là một lời khuyên GK khó tính này dành cho các thí sinh. Số điểm của BGK dành tặng cho cả ba thí sinh Shaya, Crany và PiA là 25 điểm.
Câu chuyện tình lãng mạn được kể qua EDM
Mở đầu, thí sinh Mr.T với câu chuyện tình ngọt ngào của bài Valentine. Thí sinh Dblack cũng được BGK đánh giá tốt về kỹ năng cảm âm khi có thể hòa âm và làm mới nhiều ca khúc nổi tiếng. “Bốn chữ lắm” của thí sinh Royal cũng đã gây ấn tượng với Hoàng Touliver. Đây là phần thi khá ngang sức và ngang tài, nên cả ba anh chàng DBlack, Royal và Mr.T đều nhận được số điểm tối đa từ BGK là 30/30 điểm.
Nhóm thi “Tài năng bí ẩn”
Po mở màn với giai điệu Valentine nhẹ nhàng. Nhung Babie và Ritaa Đặng dù khá lo lắng nhưng vẫn thể hiện phần thi của mình khá tốt. GK Hoàng Touliver và DJ Wang Trần dành lời khen cho Nhung Babie khi cô biết cách mix nhiều thể loại nhạc trong phần thi. Số điểm thí sinh Po là 26.4 điểm, Nhung Babie là 30 điểm và Ritaa Đặng là 27 điểm.
Ba chàng trai Top 3 đứng nhất của đêm thi trước: Rhyskai, Kim D.O.G, Basskeeperz.
Dù Rhyskai, Kim D.O.G và Basskeeperz đứng nhất trong phần thi trước thì tập này cả ba thí sinh đã vấp phải nhiều khó khăn. Vì sở trường của nhóm là về thể loại nhạc Trap và Trance nên tìm nhạc Việt để xếp vào khung nhạc quả là một điều hóc búa. Số điểm BGK dành cho thí sinh Rhyskai là 29.5 điểm, Kim D.O.G là 26.5 điểm và thí sinh Basskeeperz là 27.5 điểm.
Qua các đêm thi Bán kết 1 và 2, tổng số điểm của thí sinh Po thấp nhất và anh buộc lòng phải rời khỏi chương trình Tài Năng DJ.
TÀI NĂNG DJ do công ty truyền thông Blue Ocean phối hợp với Đài truyền hình Việt Nam sản xuất, phát sóng lúc 21h10 thứ sáu hàng tuần trên kênh VTV9 kéo dài 20 tập.
Top 21 thí sinh sẽ cùng nhau tranh tài, qua mỗi đêm thi chương trình sẽ loại ra những thí sinh không vượt qua thử thách.

Tập 3: Vòng thi Ngẫu hứng cùng Rapper: các thí sinh có 2 phút trình diễn.

Tập 5: Vòng thi Ngẫu hứng cùng Nhạc cụ: Các thí sinh có 2 phút trình diễn.

Tập 17: Chung kết 2 – đêm sáng tạo. 8 thí sinh sẽ thể hiện trên 4 bàn CDJ, không được dùng laptop
Tập 18: Chung kết 3 – đêm Bứt phá. Còn lại 6 thí sinh, sẽ thi với chủ đề âm nhạc Mashup live.
Tập 19: Chung kết 4 – đêm bứt phá. Còn lại 5 thí sinh, sẽ thi với chủ đề Remix nhạc việt. sẽ có Ca sĩ và producer hỗ trợ cho các thí sinh.
Tập 20: Đêm gala chung kết trao giải.

Zanger Mighty Botai (Eddy Felter - 1931-2001) wordt geboren in het district Coronie in Suriname. Hij begint als percussionist in verschillende Kaseko-bands, o.a. Orchestra Washboard en de band van Fredericus 'Gusje' Ost. In 1972 komt Felter naar Nederland. Daar richt hij Radio Sranan op, het eerste radiostation waar er geheel in de Surinaamse taal Sranantongo wordt gepresenteerd. Radio Sranan richt zich vooral op de Surinamers in Amsterdam en omstreken met muziek uit Suriname en andere Zuid-Amerikaanse landen. Bij de onafhankelijkheid van Suriname in 1975 brengt hij de LP Onafhankelijkheid (Srefidensi) Suriname uit. Daarna zullen nog 4 albums volgen. In 1977 ontvangt Felter uit handen van een afgevaardigde van het Rijksuniversiteit te Gent een onderscheiding als 'Doctor in de toegepaste Inheemse Folkloristische Surinaamse Muziek'. Op 20 september overlijdt hij, na zijn laatste dagen te hebben doorgebracht in zijn geliefde streek Coronie.
Zijn radiostation wordt voortgezet in een programma op CarribeanFM een zender van de Amsterdamse omroep Salto.
In 2001 heeft Keeyel (rapper Kay-LC) een bescheiden zomerhit met Geef Me Dat Ding, een bewerking van Mighty Botai's hit Blanke Meid.

Daar richt hij Radio Sranan op, het eerste radiostation waar er geheel in de Surinaamse taal Sranantongo wordt gepresenteerd. Radio Sranan richt zich vooral op de Surinamers in Amsterdam en omstreken met muziek uit Suriname en andere Zuid-Amerikaanse landen. Bij de onafhankelijkheid van Suriname in 1975 brengt hij de LP Onafhankelijkheid (Srefidensi) Suriname uit. Daarna zullen nog 4 albums volgen. In 1977 ontvangt Felter uit handen van een afgevaardigde van het Rijksuniversiteit te Gent een onderscheiding als 'Doctor in de toegepaste Inheemse Folkloristische Surinaamse Muziek'. Op 20 september overlijdt hij, na zijn laatste dagen te hebben doorgebracht in zijn geliefde streek Coronie.
Zijn radiostation wordt voortgezet in een programma op CarribeanFM een zender van de Amsterdamse omroep Salto.
In 2001 heeft Keeyel (rapper Kay-LC) een bescheiden zomerhit met Geef Me Dat Ding, een bewerking van Mighty Botai's hit Blanke Meid.
