Urban Exploring Tesco in Chatham a few days before it closed.

History....
1970s - Tecos was built. It has nice grotty 70s architecture. The lifts are O&K; lifts (with 70s Dewhurst buttons).
1990s - Car park levels 5 - 7 are closed. The ramps going up there were blocked off very securely. The lift buttons were replaced with ugly Dewhurst.
2010 - The lifts were sadly modernized by Otis.
2012 - Level 4 had become very grotty. There was pigeon poo everywhere. Also the local drug dealers used to hang out here. Due to this problem, car park levels 3 - 4 were closed, and the ramps leading there blocked up.
2015 - Tesco closes.
Note: As always, I never cause any damage to property, and I always leave everything as I found it. The only thing I am interested in is the achievement of getting into abandoned places that nobody goes.

De Tocht naar Chatham in 1667 is een van de meest legendarische zeeslagen uit onze vaderlandse geschiedenis. Een aanslag op de Engelse marine, in het hol van de leeuw. Een klinkende overwinning. Maar toch zijn er een paar dingen onduidelijk. Was Michiel de Ruyter wel het genie achter deze gewaagde actie of was het iemand anders? En dan is het nog de vraag of je een ketting überhaupt kunt doorvaren. Jort en Pieter Jan gaan onderzoeken wat er nou echt gebeurd is. Hoe het plan ontstond, wie de winnaars en de verliezers waren. En hoe een zeeslag in de zeventiende eeuw in zijn werk ging.

Cape Cod
Cape Cod is a geographic cape/island and independent land mass separated from the mainland by the Cape Cod Canal that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost part of the state of Massachusetts in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.
Cape Cod stretches from Provincetown in the northeast to Woods Hole in the southwest. Cape Cod, as defined by the Cape Cod Commission's enabling legislation, comprises Barnstable County. The Cape Cod Canal cuts 17.5 miles (28.2 km) roughly across the base of the peninsula, though the western boundary of the cape extends to include small portions of the towns of Bourne and Sandwich which lie on the mainland side of the canal.
Two road bridges cross the Cape Cod Canal: the Sagamore Bridge and the Bourne Bridge. In addition, the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge carries railway freight and limited passenger services onto the Cape. Cape territory is divided into fifteen towns with many villages.

1970s - Tecos was built. It has nice grotty 70s architecture. The lifts are O&K; lifts (with 70s Dewhurst buttons).
1990s - Car park levels 5 - 7 are closed. The ramps going up there were blocked off very securely. The lift buttons were replaced with ugly Dewhurst.
2010 - The lifts were sadly modernized by Otis.
2012 - Level 4 had become very grotty. There was pigeon poo everywhere. Also the local drug dealers used to hang out here. Due to this problem, car park levels 3 - 4 were closed, and the ramps leading there blocked up.
2015 - Tesco closes.
Note: As always, I never cause any damage to property, and I always leave everything as I found it. The only thing I am interested in is the achievement of getting into abandoned places that nobody goes.

Maar toch zijn er een paar dingen onduidelijk. Was Michiel de Ruyter wel het genie achter deze gewaagde actie of was het iemand anders? En dan is het nog de vraag of je een ketting überhaupt kunt doorvaren. Jort en Pieter Jan gaan onderzoeken wat er nou echt gebeurd is. Hoe het plan ontstond, wie de winnaars en de verliezers waren. En hoe een zeeslag in de zeventiende eeuw in zijn werk ging.
