Sir Michael Terence "Terry" Wogan, KBE, DL (/ˈwoʊɡən/, 3 August 1938 – 31 January 2016) was an Irish-British radio and television broadcaster who worked for the BBC in the United Kingdom for most of his career. Before he retired from his BBC Radio 2 weekday breakfast programme Wake Up to Wogan in 2009, it had eight million regular listeners, making him the most listened-to radio broadcaster in Europe.
Wogan was a leading media personality in the UK from the late 1960s and was often referred to as a "national treasure". In addition to his weekday radio show, he was known in the UK for his work on television, including the BBC One chat show Wogan, presenting Children in Need, the game show Blankety Blank and Come Dancing. He was the BBC's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest from 1971 to 2008 and its host in 1998. From 2010 to 2015 he presented Weekend Wogan, a two-hour Sunday morning show on BBC Radio 2.
Wogan acquired dual UK citizenship in 2005 and was thus entitled to use "Sir" in front of his name when he was awarded a knighthood in the same year. He died from cancer at his home in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, on 31 January 2016, aged 77.
Terry is both a masculine and feminine given name derived from Terence or Teresa.
Wogan is a British television chat show which was broadcast on BBC1 from 1982 until 1992, presented by Terry Wogan. The show was generally broadcast live from BBC Television Theatre in Shepherd's Bush, London until 1991. It was then broadcast from the BBC Television Centre. Some shows were pre-recorded, but broadcast unedited, 'as live'. Wogan ended its run in July 1992 (it was replaced by the soap opera Eldorado).
Wogan's first foray into TV interviewing, and indeed to British television, was in 1972 on Lunchtime with Wogan on ITV, in 1973 he left and joined the BBC. In 1981 he was given another chat show; What's On, Wogan? running for 9 episodes in the spring of that year, primarily on Saturday evenings. In 1981 he had a chance to host a one-off chat show, Saturday Live. Among his guests on this show were Larry Hagman, promoting SOB, and Frank Hall. Hagman was at the height of his fame, which gave the show a high profile.A year later Wogan was given his own chat show, Wogan, initially broadcast on a Tuesday evening, the series was moved the following year to Saturday nights to replace Parkinson.

RIP Terry Wogan. 3 August 1938 – 31 January 2016. This documentary, broadcast in 2011, takes on a new poignancy now. Enjoy. It is over 40 years since Terry Wogan decided to leave Ireland and seek his fortune across the water in England. In that time, Ireland has changed beyond all recognition - and so has Terry. Now, in the wake of his retirement from BBC Radio 2, Terry's going 'home'. In the autobiographical journey of a lifetime he travels back to Dublin, the city he left behind as a teenager, and all the way back to Limerick, where he was born, taking in the length and breadth of the heart-stoppingly beautiful Irish coast en route. For Terry, this is an opportunity to cherish the old, and to seek out and celebrate the new face of Ireland. But this Ireland is a very different country...
Between 1982 and 1992 Sir Terry Wogan hosted a chat show that was eventually broadcast on three evenings a week. The programme featured famous appearances by an inebriated George Best and David Icke announcing he was the Son of God. This compilation also includes guests Sir Cliff Richard and Wham. RIP Terry Wogan. 3 August 1938 – 31 January 2016. This documentary was broadcast in 2011. Terry Wogan reaches the halfway mark in the odyssey around his homeland. He has travelled the southern half of the Republic, from Dublin round to Limerick, where he grew up. Now it's the turn of the north, much of which is quite literally a different country. After sharing memories of his buttoned-up childhood holidays in Galway and witnessing a seismic shift in Catholic prudery when 180 Irish ladies throw off all their clothes and take a 'Dip in the Nip' for charity, Terry heads for the border. As he crosses into Northern Ireland he recalls the watchtowers and armed security. Now all that gives the border away is a subtle change in the texture of the road surface. More than a decade after the Peace...

Değer mi hiç
Boş yere küsme düşlerine
İnan, onun da yanına kalmaz
Bırak gitsin, üzülme
Hayat sevenlerin yanındadır, unutma
Gülümse kaderine
Yak bütün fotoğrafları
O'na ait bütün eşyaları
Bu gece ümitlerini al koynuna
Gün doğmadan unut insafsızı (2x)
Unut insafsızı
Kader buluşturdu
Kader ayırdı
O aşka inanmadı
Sil gözyaşlarını
Sakın ağlama
O kalbinle oynadı
Hayat sevenleri korur
Ateşe atmaz
Gülüm, sana kıyamadı
Yak bütün fotoğrafları
O'na ait bütün eşyaları
Bu gece ümitlerini al koynuna
Gün doğmadan unut insafsızı (3x)
