A camera stabilizer, or camera–stabilizing mount, is a device designed to hold a camera in a manner that prevents or compensates for unwanted camera movement, such as "camera shake".
For small hand-held cameras, a harness or contoured frame steadies the camera against the photographer's body. In some models, the camera mount is on an arm that protrudes in front of the photographer; beneath the camera is a handle grip. Another variation positions the camera atop a fulcrum braced against the photographer's chest or abdomen.
To compensate for camera instability caused by the movement of the operator's body, a camera operator named Garrett Brown invented a body-mounted stabilization apparatus for motion picture cameras, called a Steadicam, which uses springs as shock absorbers. In 1991, Martin Stevens invented a hand-held stabilizer for motion-picture cameras, called the Glidecam. Some camera stabilization machines use gyroscopes to sense disruptive motion.
Although a tripod can hold a camera stably, stationary platforms are not regarded as camera stabilizers.
Devin Graham (born July 29, 1983) is an American videographer who produces adventure and extreme sport videos on YouTube under the name devinsupertramp. His channel has more than 3.6 million subscribers and over 678 million total views.
Devin first began making films of his stunts snowboarding at an early age. After breaking his back and legs snowboarding, he shifted his focus to being behind the camera. Graham studied film making at Brigham Young University with the original intent on working on feature films After seeing the successes of YouTube videos, specifically one made on a cellphone that amassed over 2 million views, Devin opted to focus on making videos of his own rather than completing his degree.
Graham mostly produces, films, and edits his videos on his own. In a number of occasions, Graham has stated that he's worked with his room-mate Jeff Harmon, others for sound, and cameramen if required. In Logan, Utah, he recruited 30 fan volunteers to help him shoot a snowball fight after making a public appeal on Facebook.

Today Justin gives his personal opinion on his experience using both the DJI Ronin and Glidecam from Glidecam industries. We used the Glidecam HD 2000 with a Canon 60D and a Blackmagic Cinema camera. With the Ronin, we only used a blackmagic cinema camera with a SIgma 18-35mm lens. See how Martin Stevens Glidecam which was invented in 1991 compares to the relatively new DJI Ronin. This video is no way to sell you on a certain product but to only help inform you of the challenges you may face while using both pieces of equipment. First flys with the Glidecam here, shot a Midsomer Norton, Somerset! Thanks Chris Watts for helping me out, I appreciate that this won't interest the majority of my subscribers and I apologise. But for anyone that has one of these, wants one or has had one this might be of interest. Anyway, just a few test clips. This really was the first time I had used it, got it set up and balanced pretty quickly and could probably do with a few adjustments here and there. I noticed it likes to lean slightly in favour of the left side, so I'll make sure I sort that. Also it was pretty windy and that does have a effect of these things sometimes, but most of the small mistakes are down to me knocking it slightly when trying to move the camera etc. If anyone has any tips or tricks for using Glidecams I'd...
