Man armed with explosives and woman arrested over crime spree in Perth's north

A man allegedly carrying a small stick of explosives and woman have been arrested over a two month crime spree in Perth's north.

Police allege a 29-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, both of Ridgewood, were arrested at a shopping centre in Morley on Friday morning and were charged with a string of burglaries and stolen vehicles in Merriwa, Butler, Carramar, Clarkson, Ocean Reef, Quinns Rocks, Balcatta and North Perth, between May and July.

It is alleged when the man was arrested while he was carrying a small stick of explosives and the woman in possession of a small amount of cannabis as well as a loaded syringe of methylamphetamine.

The 29-year-old has been charged with multiple offences including 10 counts of stealing and seven counts of stealing a vehicle.

The 34-year-old woman has been charged with possession of methylamphetamine and cannabis.

The pair were due to appear in the Perth Magistrates court on Saturday.
