Castor (mountain)
Castor (Italian: Castore) is a mountain in the Pennine Alps on the border between Valais, Switzerland and the Aosta Valley in Italy. It is the higher of a pair of twin peaks (Zwillinge), the other being Pollux, named after the Gemini twins of Roman mythology. Castor's peak is at an elevation of 4,228 m (13,871 ft), and it lies between Breithorn and Monte Rosa. It is separated from Pollux by a pass at 3,845 m (12,615 ft), named Passo di Verra in Italian and Zwillingsjoch in German.
Ascents are usually made from the alpine hut Capanna Quintino Sella on the Italian side, by means of the Felikjoch and the long and narrow southeast ridge. From the Swiss side, ascents start from Klein Matterhorn and go by way of the Italian Mezzalama glacier and the mountain's west flank. The first ascent was made on August 23, 1861.
Castor and Pollux are also a pair of summits in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA. Located in the Absaroka Range, Castor is 3,308 m, 65 m lower than its twin.

Climb to Margherita Hut, Signalkuppe, Pennine Alps
From our base camp in the Alagna Valsesia we took a series of cable cars up to Punta Indren at 3,200 metres. From here we climbed up to the Refugio Gniffetti sited at 3,647 metres. After a day acclimatising to the altitude by climbing Piramide Vincent (not featured in the video), we proceeded up to Europe's highest hut, the Margherita, at the summit of Signalkuppe (4,554 m) on the border of Italy and Switzerland. We bagged a couple more peaks on the 1,500m descent back to the cable car. We couldn't tackle Mont Blanc - the weather forecast for was high winds so we aborted our mission - gutted after such perfect preparation!!! The mythical Sapitwa is described as a dwelling place for various spirits including gods and goddesses, and marvelous plants and trees like the cedar. Mulanje Mountain is also known as the “Island in the Sky” and the place of mizimu (spirits) in various tales.
Amwandionerapati or Abathwa (short people) also known as Akafula and strong fighters were believed to be found on Mulanje Mountain.
The mythical spirits of the short people with protruding bellies and armed with axes in myths are believed to still guard a sacred entrance to the mythical kingdom and ask the dreaded question, “Mwandionera pati.” (“From where did you see me?”)
If one answers the question wrongly, the Abathwa (short people) slap the person hard on the right cheek and that could either cause death or serious injures according to myths.
The said people never liked being referred to as being short and were believed to be very strong and warriors. Their legend is told by many traditional healers in Malawi who source their herbs and concoctions from the mountain.
If the person answers “From very far away”, they are believed to have access to the first entrance of the mythical realm of the mountain before having to pass a serpent spirit.
Sapitwa is mythically known as a “forbidden place” because it is home to a royal spirit family who get offended when certain rituals are not followed when one goes there according to some healers in Mulanje.

SAPITWA OF MULANJE MOUNTAIN (MYTHOLOGY)

Mulanje Mountain known for its majestic Sapitwa peak is an important and mythological mountain in ancient Malawi myths and tales.
However the mythological side of Mulanje Mountain should not be confused with the real geographic Mulanje Massifsaid to measure approximately 22×26 kilometres with a maximum elevation of 3,002 m at its highest point, Sapitwa Peak.
The mythical Sapitwa is described as a dwelling place for various spirits including gods and goddesses, and marvelous plants and trees like the cedar. Mulanje Mountain is also known as the “Island in the Sky” and the place of mizimu (spirits) in various tales.
Amwandionerapati or Abathwa (short people) also known as Akafula and strong fighters were believed to be found on Mulanje Mountain.
The mythical spirits of the short people with protruding bellies and armed with axes in myths are believed to still guard a sacred entrance to the mythical kingdom and ask the dreaded question, “Mwandionera pati.” (“From where did you see me?”)
If one answers the question wrongly, the Abathwa (short people) slap the person hard on the right cheek and that could either cause death or serious injures according to myths.
The said people never liked being referred to as being short and were believed to be very strong and warriors. Their legend is told by many traditional healers in Malawi who source their herbs and concoctions from the mountain.
If the person answers “From very far away”, they are believed to have access to the first entrance of the mythical realm of the mountain before having to pass a serpent spirit.
Sapitwa is mythically known as a “forbidden place” because it is home to a royal spirit family who get offended when certain rituals are not followed when one goes there according to some healers in Mulanje.

From our base camp in the Alagna Valsesia we took a series of cable cars up to Punta Indren at 3,200 metres. From here we climbed up to the Refugio Gniffetti sited at 3,647 metres. After a day acclimatising to the altitude by climbing Piramide Vincent (not featured in the video), we proceeded up to Europe's highest hut, the Margherita, at the summit of Signalkuppe (4,554 m) on the border of Italy and Switzerland. We bagged a couple more peaks on the 1,500m descent back to the cable car. We couldn't tackle Mont Blanc - the weather forecast for was high winds so we aborted our mission - gutted after such perfect preparation!!!

I show you how to DIY a waterproof mascara, make a gorgeous waterproof colored eyeliner, DIY a lip and cheek tint plus how to make any eyeshadow waterproof and much more pigmented.
